Its strange the kind of vitriol posted against this man.

Is this not the same Akpabio all of Akwa Ibom celebrated until he moved to APC?

The same thing they did to Amaechi.

Funny enough both characters are builders of their respective modern states.

Shame the way people act.

. Oga think before you talk, Igbos are able to live and successfully do business in other people's land because the host are friendly and accommodating, the same cannot be said about the Igbos. Instead of you praising your kinsmen for having businesses in other regions, you should praise their host for being peaceful and not discrimination
when we built some houses (mini estate kind of) in my village, it was a Yoruba contractor contracted from Lagos that handled all the job.

He was so loved in my whole community that so many families brought him food, etc. For the 2yrs he spent on that project, he was showered with love, he even got other jobs from neighboring families who saw his work during Xmas celebration, so he spent over 5 years in my village and was treated like a king with his boys he brought from Lagos and Ogun.

I later learnt an influential man from a neighboring community offered him a job at the state capital, he refused and said he can't live outside Lagos.

Today he lives at Otta in Ogun state, I don't know much about him now but the last time he called me, he was telling me not to forget him if any construction job comes out, I said OK.

My point, Yorubas are too cowardly, prideful and it makes it difficult for them to humble themselves and mix up outside Yoruba cities and make money. They are always feeling hunted in Igbo land like someone wants to murder them even when there is no evidence of such threat.

If Kola was an Igbo guy, he wouldn't leave my community, he would take good advantage of that entrance into Igbo land and make himself a major contractor, and own his own mansions in Igbo land, but a Yoruba man will rather die than invest in Igbo land.

On the other hand, Igbos are fearless, they fear nothing! They go to the most scary tribes and survive and live with them.

Thousands of Igbos have been killed in Kano, Kaduna, Jos, Adamawa, etc but still, Igbos own majority of the businesses and investments in Kano, Kaduna, etc after Hausa-Fulanis.

It takes braveness to conquer in business, don't expect things to be easy for you anywhere in the world.

To become successful and break records, you must leave your comfort zone!

It's so sad and shameful the way our youths fail to independently reason for themselves... Instead of aligning with individuals of proven integrity, they choose the bandwagon effect of partisanship.

If you ask them what they actually have against the man, most can only point at the fact that he decamped from the useless PDP to the even more useless ruling party... No one seems to remember his landmark achievements as a governor.

. There you go again, using the action of one single man as a yardstick to judge an entire tribe. You even went ahead and called them coward, because that's how you see them and that is exactly the reason kola could not stay in your "brave men's village"

One yoruba professor made this same fallacious assumption you did and I asked him, "If the hosts are the ones being accommodating, why are Yorubas not taking advantage of the Hausas accommodating spirit to build, invest and live in the north like igbos? Why are the Hausas not taking advantage of the Yoruba hospitality to invest and build their houses in Yoruba land like igbos?"
The man stood for some seconds and changed the subject.

Go to MMIA on Friday and see some of the top Hausa men working in Lagos ports, nimasa, cbn etc flying back to be with their families. They would rather do that than build in Lagos and raise their families in Lagos. Even the smaller ones amongst them keep their families in the north and squat in Lagos or other states but will never buy land to build homes or investments. Since it's Yorubas that are accommodating, why are they not investing?
Also, in the north, you have igbos settling and having their investments there but you can't point at any Yoruba doing same in the north. If it's the northerners that are so accommodating, why aren't the Yorubas taking advantage of it to settle there and invest there too.

Do you see that your reasoning is heavily flawed?

So all the Yorubas have what they need and all the hausa/fulani have what they need and yet South East has lowest poverty index among the 6 geopolitical zones from last year's report?

Oh so it's no more about being an accomodating host but about having no need to invest outside. Note that Hausas like igbos trade in the west, so they draw wealth from it but igbos are the ones that makes the place better by settling and building while the other ensures his whole proceeds goes back to the north.

Whether you accept it or play the ostrich, it's only igbos that see the whole nation as home while others view anywhere outside their tribe with suspicion

Hmmm, why is it that almost all successful and famous men from all Nigerian tribes are married to Igbo ladies, why

Seems Igbo ladies bring good luck and success to their hubbies, hmmmm lipsrsealed

Meanwhile, this just reminded me of one famous Bini (Edo) man, who said on a national TV broadcast some years ago, and I quote his words:

Igbos are the only people that love Nigeria and unite Nigeria freely and genuinely.

Igbos are the only Nigerian tribe you can find in all parts of Nigeria living and doing business peacefully and not just living there in tents or makeshift houses, but they invest heavily in any state of Nigeria they live.

They employ people of the state they live. They build mansions wherever they live. They invest wherever they live without prejudice, yet we other Nigerians treat them with hatred, it is very unfair to humanity!

The man continued...

I am not Igbo man, I am Bini by tribe but I must say the truth!

Fulanis go to all parts of Nigeria too but do they invest in the communities they go to NO! Why They are wicked, they are tribalistic and very selfish, they hate civilisation and mixing up, plus they know they are troublemakers so they prefer to live in the thick forests in temporary tents waiting to run after they cause trouble to their host communities!

....and he concluded by asking a very vital question that goes like this:

How many Yorubas or Hausas own houses, investments, hotels, industries, schools, shops, etc in Igbo states or outside their Yoruba or Hausa-Fulani states I can tell you none or maybe the few super rich ones, and why is it so It is simply because they are cunning, they are tribalistic and very selfish, they always think Igbos or other tribes will take over their investments and properties if there is any national political disagreement just as they do to Igbos. Honestly Igbos have been through a lot in Nigeria, they have been hated, nameshamed, marginalized, killed severally yet they maintain liberal mind, travel to all Nigerian states, invest in all Nigerian states, marry from all Nigerian tribes yet we hate and treat them unfairly

And in his final remarks, he said:

Igbos are the thread holding Nigeria's unity. They are the bridge that connect all Nigerian states and tribes. Igbos travel freely to all Nigerian states and live there and marry from there and invest heavily in their host states and communities yet Yoruba and Hausa-Fulanis hate this amazing tribe, believe me, there is something special about the Igbos that we other Nigerians are hiding

. Well if you must know I'm a traveller, I've lived in Benin, warri, Niger, Abuja, Kaduna , as a matter of fact I still have an apartment in barikallahu, Kaduna state even though I'm now in Ghana. So you see I really don't need to come to your village to prove anything because what I need isn't there, with due respect of course
