Try oat meal( that is powdered oats). You make it like semo. My mum is diabetic and that's what she eats.

Eba(Garri) And Loi-Loi(Fufu) Are Out Of The Equation Because Of Their High Starch Content.

He Was Using Plantain Flour But He Complained Of Constipation And He Stopped Using It. . . He Was Also Using Wheat Flour But He Stopped Due To Some Health Complications (I Think Something Concerning Blood Group O+).

Any Advice Or Experience Will Be Appreciated.

P.S: For Some Months Now He Has Not Eaten Swallow, Just Diabetic Rice And Other Food Suitable For Diabetics, But We Are Nigerians And Man Must Swallow.

My mum has been diabetic for more than 12 years. She eats wheat and Amala. The size or quantity matters a lot, he should eat less. He should also eat swallow early around 6.30 or 7pm.

I think wheat is the best. Read about Hallelujah diet online. They explain some natural ways to reverse diabetes. Diabetes is reversible but it takes lot of discipline, change in diet and lifestyle.
Diabetes can cause amputation, loss of sight, etc. Tell your dad to take it very seriously.

Is he on insulin injections? If yes, how many times a day does he take the injection? How many IU does he take a day? Does he have hypertension? You know, hypertension and diabetes usually go hand in hand. Please he should not take wheat, a diabetic patient shouldn't take that. He can take fufu, it's very nice. People don't know this but, fufu is far far better than wheat. He shouldn't eat too heavy, fruits and vegetables should be contained in his meals. He should also try to exercise( this is very very important), he should make sure that he at least does something that will make him sweat( this is very important). With these he can even take virtually any normal food that we all eat. Please garri or eba is bad oo, it tends to increase the blood sugar level. Also, having Accu Check(instrument for measuring blood sugar level) is very important, so you can monitor the blood sugar level and also know the things you take that increases it so as to minimize such.

Must he die because of the so called swallow that led him down the path of diabetes in the first place. These puddings are notorious for dense calories and most 'soups' that go with them are packed with cholesterol and worthless vegetables cooked to extinction.

Diabetes is a lifestyle changer for those interested in prolonging theirs so he better embrace that fact and turn ketogenic.

All the food being mentioned have sugar somehow, what u should be looking at is the suitable drug to control it. It is always advised to eat healthy and then take your medication. Taking insulin to control it initially is not a bad idea. But shouldn't rely on it except for emergency.

So my dear, if I should say, garri is still d best, though, in moderation. Just SCOUT FOR A GOOD DRUG TO ASSIST wink wink

NB: I am not a medical personnel but my little cent from a soul with a family of diabetic persons.

Not totally true!
While some makes sense some might/will not but you can sieve the responses gotten.
Are you saying it's wrong to ask Google and get some relevant ideas too?
You may always state with a clause, an opinion not sure of.
