I rounded up my National Diploma program in 2017 so I decided to pick up DE form this year. A quick check on JAMB portal revealed I have never been offered admission by any school, not even the school I got my National Diploma from.

"Well, that won't stop me from getting the DE form this year", I said to myself. So went ahead and registered for JAMB DE. However, I purposely didn't provide my previous JAMB registration number since it was not tied to any legitimate admission record (a very big mistake which will be made clearer subsequently).

After the DE registration, I started the regularization process. I paid 5k because I had purchased and written UTME before. Same UTME I gained admission with (the admission I was trying to regularize). I got the soft and hard copy of the form. Since I was far away from the institution I did my ND, I had the soft copy sent to someone in the town to help me with the process. So the person printed the form (must be in color), filled some important aspect of the form and signed it for me.

The process involves submitting the hard copy of the regularization form to the rector of the school you got your ND from. The rector would confirm if the school really gave you admission, and above all, if you completed your program. You would have to submit your ND and O'level result to your rector too.

The rector then proceeds to sign and stamp the form. You can choose to let the school forward the form to JAMB's office in that particular state, or you can take it there yourself (this way is faster). In my case, my contact in that state took it to JAMB's office.

At the office, the form would be forwarded to JAMB's HQ in Abuja, where your details would be updated. A confirmation message would be sent to the mail you provided after the whole update.
I started the process early February and I just got the confirmation mail today. To be fair and honest, the regularization form got to JAMB's office (state office) about two and a half months ago.

To clarify matters, I was not provided a new registration number, it was the old registration number that was simply updated to show that I was given admission by the institution I got my ND from on JAMB's website. My mistake was not providing this old Registration number, because I thought I would be given a fresh Registration number after the regularization!

please i run a PT course for ND and am trying to do HND,,,,,what about those that av registered for JAMB before in 2013 without sitting for the exam,,, will the old registration Number be used or a new one
