It's funny to note that those urging Obaseki to keep fighting all say they will vote PDP!
I pity Obaseki.

As somebody who is an APC stakeholder in Edo state i feel very ashamed the way obaseki is going about this matter. The issue at hand is not as serious as he is portraying it to be in the media. When he removed revenue collection from the hands of Akugbe ventures, everybody in the party including Adams Oshiomhole supported his decision.Honestly,Adams gave him free hands to manage both the party and the state. The problem with Obaseki is he doesn't condone contrary opinions in the party.I remember during the last general elections,he insisted on Iyoha going to Rep instead of Obaze that was supported by Tony Kabaka and other APC leaders in oredo, Oshiomhole allowed him have his way and Iyoha eventually lost woefully.I usually feel pained whenever he label some APC leaders as greedy, yet he financially sponsor Protest and induce some leaders in state financially. Finally,I think this is another lesson to governors who want to influence or hand pick their successors.Adams Oshiomhole imposed obaseki on Edo APC.I still remember how boys went to flog A top APC chieftain in Edo South at home because the man and some other leaders were supporting odubu.

Two things: you are either not a smart politician or a baby politician.

The governor by his position has access to privileged information and plots against him by Oshiomole's camp.

Their first plot was to use the new House of Assembly to checkmate Obaseki and frustrate him out of office.
It got leaked to Obaseki and he made a move ahead of them.

If you remember, Obaseki had already put their next plan of using NASS against him in the media almost a week before
Oshiomole's camp eventually approached Gbajabiamilla for it.

As governor, Obaseki should even sponsor a mole in Oshiomole's camp to leak information for him.

Obaseki is a Bini man, they have by far the largest voting population in the state whilst Oshiomhole comes from in insignificant minority. This is Nigeria and when the chips are down, the ethnic card takes over. this is a battle that oshiomhole cannot win,...

Try and have morals dude! Y d word insignificant?

Edo state is not Lagos state. The Yoruba's are a set of people that can be easily bought over with peanuts. Ambode's faith can never befall him.

Some people went there on personal integrity, but i know many people that were mobilized too. I'm a fan of the governor like I said earlier, but i don't support that inauguration at all. Let's start practicing what we preach. That kind of inauguration is not democratic at all. It's crude politics that was supposed to die with d last administration. Democracy is majority rule! My fear is the future, if we continue to set dangerous precedence like this, one day Mr president will use his office to inaugurate the national assembly at 12am in the night if he can't get majority of lawmakers to support his choice candidate.Already Bauchi and Edo have done it and others are watching. Our politicians learn bad things faster than good things. Obaseki has done well in governance but that doesn't mean when he's wrong we should just look d other way.

If Oshio stole then Obaseki is no saint.

Besides Obaseki problem is not osho, it is his fellow Benin politicians in Edo, Oshomole gave him both freedom of governance and freedom of party structure. If not for his illegal election no body would have heard from osho.

Besides since he has been having problems with his party is it not the same oshio that supported him?

Chai..
From your comment alone, it is clear what your level of reasoning is.
You are still in the shackles of ethnicity.
Edo doesn't belong to Benin. History is only as accurate as the bias of the writer.
And you didn't drive anyone from Benin, only despotic and barbaric acts led others to leave and hence a once great empire shrunk.
The only infidel walking the surface of the earth is that person who's an unrepentant ignoramus bound by mundane things. And we ever wonder why Nigeria is backward. Diversity is meant for strength and prosperity while nepotism means reverse gear.

I think people are underrating this gov. He has shown over the past years that he can fight dirty too. Senator Urhogide still hears echos of the slaps he received, same with Oshiomole's brother. Obviously, he's not another Ambode.

That said, the narrative of the squabble is making the people align with him. He insists the party's leaders in the state wants him to share the states resources amongst them and he refused. Thus getting the people on his side. And since it's a democracy, the people are the ones who vote. So, he might have the last laugh.

The motor park projects he's embarking on is a laudable one and his other projects (though sub-standard ) are populist enough to swing votes to his side.

I hope he wins the party's ticket but lose to the PDP in the main elections (because I strongly believe that no governor is as good in second term in comparison to their first)
lol
Treating lawmakers like criminals and doing a secret inauguration is a no-no for me.

Governor Godwin Obaseki has done a lot to improve on the economic and social infrastructure of Edo state.

Comrade Adams Oshiomole, Tinubu should call their supporters to order to allow peace reign.

It is only when peace reign the dividend of democracy can be brought to the door steps of the people.

Lol

Do you think the lawmakers he beat up will just go and sit down? Or the ones he refused to inaugurate?

Oshomole and tinubu are not his problem, his problem is the Benin politicians who he refused to reconcile with... He only spoilt the whole thing with the house saga.

see Ambode case is very different from this One.

Firstly Ambode was a good administrator but he was not a good party Man and as long as Nigeria still exist you need to be a good party man because party decide who fly their flag.

Secondly Godfather are not made from Abuja they are made from home, just like the popular slogan that politics is local. Tinubu never took any position or post but was building political structure that was why Ambode couldn't fight back and ambode retreat back to learn and launched back in future but if he had throw caution to the wind he would have jeopadise any chance in future..

I advise Mr obaseki to win the battle and war because the war is the most important if not those that are rooting for him will dump him when the table turn..

Lol

Do you think Obaseki is a good party man? He lost half the party structure in just 4 years

Even the party structure in Edo was built by Oshomole from scratch
