Good day guys, I greet you all.
Please I need advice
I am planning on travelling in September/October to have my baby who is due in January 2020. However, I wont be sponsoring myself, my uncle who is a senator will be sponsoring the trip and I was wondering if it will be possible to use this means and what documents i should provide because my bank statement or my husbands do not have sufficient funds for up to 3months or even 2 but is it okay if I use my 1month bank statement? Cos I've only had the money that would cover my trip and all for a month. I will also need a doctor in Toronto please. I am trying to make enquiries and apply ASAP.
Thank you I will be waiting for responses.

Goodmorning wonderful house.

Special thanks to @hotstepper. Your energy and patience is amazing. Thanks to omobendel, semisolasola , folmus and everyone who keeps this thread going.

I just shared in the visit visa thread that i got my Canadian tourist visa approved within a month of applying. I have a valid us visa which i used twice for holiday but hubby's US interview is sometime in October.
We are expecting our first bundle of joy within the same period and have family mostly in the US and friends in Ontario.

Overall, i had already decided US was the place since i am more familiar with the US and navigation won't be an issue.i made contacts with my hospital and sorted it out already but the bills are crazy for the cities we have family.
Most importantly i didn't want to be under undue pressure when i enter US without plan B, with all the stories and POE drama.
Thanks to this thread and wisdom, we jejely applied for Canada so we can weigh options and compare plus boost hubby's chances of his US visa after we visit Canada.
Hubby and i intend to spend a week in Canada early September (about 34 weeks in for me).i will be flying to the US earlier (to verify all my hospital things and compare bills)then i will meet him in Canada for one week so we can decide.

I may be birthing in Ontario if we find out the cost is way less than what we are getting in US($12-15k) but on this thread i have seen 8k Canadian dollars bill and less which i really like.
Our trip would be both fact finding and holiday before baby arrives.
@hotstepper, pls allow me to bug you small when that time comes.

Bottom line, praying and planning is key.even if we have our first in US, we can have our other kids in Canada without fear of US visa renewal/denial knowing we have a Canadian visa that offers the same benefits. I have seen the panic and rush from expecting mother's who were denied US visas and Canada also denied them. Plus if our Canada bill is way less than US we will birth in Ontario.
This platform is bae mehn!
Thank you all.
God bless us.

Congrats on your TRV issuance.

Both countries have issues with not declaring your intentions to give birth. US has declared war against low bills and Canada is ramping up.

I dont think 12-15k is too much for birthing in the US as long as it is not a discounted package. You already declared that you are budgeting close to that for a 10 day visit to Canada.

Making up your mind on which hospital to use on the go is not a good idea. For example you would have to declare birthing at US POE and give the name of the hospital. If you decide to travel to Canada from the US you will still have to declare birthing and hospital name and contact at POE.

Congratulations!

Having Canadian or American visa doew not mean thay the other country will issue you a visa...just bear that in mind.

At 34 weeks, I strongly believe you should make up.ur mind in which country you want to have your baby and fly there straight cuz you will be crossing POEs with questions of which you do not wsnt to be sent bk.

Also here, it is getting harder ti see drs that take patients at 34 weeks so this is the time to do analyais with ur hubby. Since he has a Canada visa, maybe look into Canada if you wwnt him to be part the birth process.

You said you have family in Ontario right? where?

Somebody has used her mum's account and was denied. I think your uncle should rather put the money in your account and u go from there. Are you and your husband working? Sept/Oct is early to be here as you do not want to say that u r staying for 5 months as that is a big red flag. If you are due jan 2020,Nov middle will.be ideal to.come in . Best of luck

Thanks guys,

@nobody. As mentioned i have my hospital sorted in the US with my estimated bills and correspondence from them already.mentioned we have family in the US. I leave for US at 31 weeks to actually visit the hospital and verify everything that may not be included in the mail (i have a work related event in the US that time as well). I do have the means to be on ground and have all my boxes ticked. Hospital estimate was minus OBGYN by the way.

I will definitely be travelling with enough cash to cover my expenses at either ends and declare birthing and my work related event at US POE.as stated, i have used this particular visa twice already minus my other previous trips to the US and childbirth in either countries is not illegal. Why would a sane human not declare birthing at POE?‍♀️‍♀️

At about weeks i will be travelling from the US to Canada to meet hubby for 1 week. We will both still be with more than enough cash to cover should we decide on Canada and i will let them know its holiday and childbirth because naturally my stomach will be protruding.

Having a valid visa doesn't guarantee you getting a visa from another country but i know good travel history does definitely boost your chances in any visa interview.

A lot of people were a bit skeptical that a young couple like us would be given the visas as we haven't been married for long and they may think we just married less than a year ago and want to relocate to start life.

Thankfully i followed my faith, we got our documents together and here we are. There was absolutely no need to apply for a birthing visa for Canada as it's still a 50/50 depending on the cost difference. Having family in both places is easier though.

Positive vibes only please. Canada or US we will choose and declare while paying all our bills.
I wish all the expecting mothers best of luck in their applications and trips.

For those who are sure people were sent back, esp preg mothers. Is because they didn't declare their true intents during the visa application or at the POE?
Re: Giving Birth In Canada by folmus: 5:36am On Jul 13, 2019
Qei2u:
Thats the puzzle .........no one has come out to admit they were sent back, no one has stated the visa they actually had and if they declared they were pregnant at POE.

Makes no sence u have a medical visa and ur sent back with your cash?

So until people can say the truth be careful

Most people try canada after a USA denial imagine adding a deportation from canada to that knowing uk,usa, australia and canada share visa info wiv each oda..........wisdom is profitable to direct!

Did you apply for Canadian visa too? Saw that you got your visa approoved for US.

Re: Giving Birth In Canada by Hotstepper(f): 11:12am On Jul 13, 2019
Popular trend I have noticed is that people who do not have more than enough money to do medical ( the officer expect that u will.not spend all the money for ur account so expect u to have more than u present in thr budget) decieves to do the tourist visa.

So if approved and they get ro POE, its faith nd luck. Some people who get away maybe got a gokd officer or traveling with a child(s) who will fascinate the officer nd they usually know traveling with a child is tiring so they dont ask much questions if at all.
Re: Giving Birth In Canada by aye88: 11:23am On Jul 13, 2019
I think it's best to declare your true intentions to avoid future issues. Either future denials or being sent back. At y first trv application. I was denied. I felt really sad and was regretting declaring I wanted to use the Visa for childbirth. But I reapplied, and still declared my intentions and wrote a strong worded letter on why i was denied based on purpose of visit. The second reason was financial asset. We added more .money to the bank statement and all three of us were given to the glory of God and with plenty prayers..
I have peace that if I decide to use that Visa for childbird, I wont hear stories of concealing my intentions and bla bla bla. The truth is, that you declared your true intentions might not actually be the reason for denial. Even people going on vacation who aren't pregnant are also denied Visa.

There are many dimensions how many people can u vouch for that declared and got visa ,thats pple u know personally, d person i know with health bank acct ,very health and robust travel history got denied other one has waited forever for reply.

Even the chineese and indians that flood canada for birthing don’t declare.in fact they have hostels that house and feed them and a nanny for 14days.
Am not cooking this up do ur research!!!

So theres alot people are not opening up about esp @ POE my 2 kobo.

Also how many people have renewed their visa after birthing whether or not they declared and were successful

These are the real issues this thread is a couple of yrs old so we can’t say no one has tried renewing.

If u try using an agent abroad the first thing they tell u is canada hates to hear birth tourism.

Some of you have relatives in healthcare in canada ask them am not saying u shud lie to get in ,i just wish people would come out more plain.

A while back someone was asked at POE why she came she said holiday then ended that if they asked her she would have said she was preggie and i wondered if thats d case why dint u just say am here to have my baby and visit wink

I think @aye88 has answered some vital points. I think some folks came back here when they were asked to bring a letter from doc. And I rememeber aye88 advising them on what to do.And they got their visas. Unfortunately, people have decided to act on the sly.

Remember, Chinese and Indians are not Nigerians; Nigerians are stereotyped. Late Pius narrated an incidence where he was being asked why he came to Canada from Nigeria even after presenting his Canadian passport.

Las Las, it is one's decision and the outcome is hers to bear. We just have to bear in mind that not everyone will get visa.

The outcome is borne by all. This is why I am very upset at the rate of people not declaring. It is a very selfish spirit. A very terrible "As long as I don get wetin I want, anything when happen after nor concern me" mentality.

@nothingdome

I think if you actually take the time to read what people write you will understand better. Not all cases are the same if you must know so save your vexation because it won't change anything.

A lot of people here and generally don't declare birthing during visa application but you must declare at POE weither you like it or yes. The same rule applies for US, some people have previously issued tourist visas and along the line decide to use it for birthing when the need arises.
In both the US and Canada, you can definitely be turned back at POE when they see your bulging belly with a tourist visa depending on the discretion of the officer you meet. I believe before embarking on any missionary journey you should definitely be financially and mentally prepared for any outcome.
No doubt some people just plan to sneak in without declaring at POE, no hospital or doctor's appointment and all those suspicious moves.
I can only speak for myself as i had already made up my mind to birth in the US but for future purposes and to be more at ease by obtaining a Canadian visa which is valid for almost 5 years. Meanwhile will you advise someone to just declare birthing during application when they already have a US visa with plans for US initially?
This doesn't stop me from comparing both countries and making a decision that will save me some cash when Ontario is just 1 hour from my family in US.

There is a likelihood that i may use Canada as the pricing is quite appealing so yes if i have both Canada and US Visas, the choice is mine to make and the burden to bear at POE.
You cannot count on other people not to make decisions that won't be bad or affect everyone but you can only make up your mind as an individual to play your part, pay your bills, do the needful so you have a good record .
I personally think it is a good thing to have options to always choose from.
