For shopping, my personal observation is you get whatever you want cos they are always available. It takes a whole lot of discipline not to buy recklessly because there are more than enough things out there that would get your attention.

Thanks.

The 3 agencies that was dropped, only 2 has functional websites... I think the idea of the agency paying for the CBT test would be preferable (if it ends up that she can't afford the fee).

The cv aspect is to enable her to draft adequate one that can enable her attract the agencies with respect to job opportunities. You can redact the cv to protect some information of yours (IE removing some personal informations you wish not to share or changing it).

Thanks once more for the reply. PM sent.
You can drop other agencies name you know of... Just trying to get various options to explore.

I'd strongly suggest u pay for ur cbt urself... Get your result and in charge of your process.. Don't bind urself to one agency... Once they pay it you're bound to use them..
Re: Adventures Of A UK Bound Nurse by Nemsy(f): 11:21am On Jul 14, 2019
True, that's why I did my findings properly and settled for the agency that met all I wanted. I decided the agency I wanted to use, did just one interview with one employer and that was it. I wish everyone the very best on this journey, may our joy be full in Jesus Christ name, Amen.

Everywhere looking clean and organized
Actually, this is a ward that was closed down temporarily due to an outbreak I am not presently sure of.
But ordinarily; clean yes, organized is relative. With everyone busy on th ward, it is not as organized as this

Exactly bro, developed countries don't joke with experienced medical personnels.

Exactly
When I think about it, I still feel like it's time wasted.
Don't get me wrong, I love nursing but we can't compete out there because we have not advanced so much with technology and ICT. cry
And we grow slowly careerwise.

Hello ma'am,

Can you be able to share the recruitment company you used for the processing, a sample of cv, and any specific band needed for the IELTS?

That notwithstanding, can someone who recently graduated be able to apply for nursing job in the UK.. Had enough clinical experience....

I am asking for a friend who I believe it would be of use to.... has ielts though I don't know the band scores yet.

Cc nemsey, charisjay, queengift

I used Neuprofessionals
Speaking ,7
Reading 7
Listening 7
Writing 6.5
Yes, they now allow recent graduates but you need to have your credentials ready for nmc applications.
I have shared a sample CV Neuprofessionals sent me some time ago

The credentials are more like transcripts and results right? Is there any disadvantage in using agent? (like bond of 2yrs being under them or what)

Notification of result and certificate also.
The advantage of using agent is that you would have people who would be organized enough to handle the processes involved especially with submission of documents and all other logistics, it takes commitment and experience with good communication.
So, most employers would give out the contract to agencies to handle.
Please do not pay any agency
Do not sign any contract with any agency no matter how harmless. Your employment contract must be clear and must be from your employer.
I have heard of direct recruitments also.

This is my 3rd weekend here and I am glad I took the bold step.
The people around are very courteous, nice, friendly and humble.
I don't think I will get comfortable with calling my grandmother's mate by name but these people don't mind.
Patients here are awesome but it doesn't stop me from using my head.
I can't count the number of times my colleagues and I were talking photos on the street and passersby would wait till we are done or even volunteer to do it for us, or random people smiling at me when our eyes meets(my smiling level has increased), or someone waiting to keep the door open after they must have passed because they know you are using it too.

I finally went to church today.
I was actually sceptical about it cos our styles are different but it felt like home for me.
I decided to wear my short lace gown to church.
Service started at 11am with preaching. When the preacher was done he said we should go for break. Lol...it sounded strange and awkward but we went o.
Took coffee and biscuit and I and my colleagues landed on a round table. It was very informal as we talked about so much, with total strangers. The new comer feeling left. There was this wonderful lady who has been working voluntarily in Africa who told me about how we give even from the little we have and how we are close with family and friends unlike them; that is a plus to us Africans.Got so many remarks about my dress o grin lol
After break, church continued till 1pm.
It is not as intense as what I am used to but I enjoyed it with it's simplicity.

This is a dumb question, she had never visited the UK, just lucky to get a job, then you want the hubby to just follow her without proper planning. Let her settle in well before moving her family.

You know what you are looking out for, they are almost similar benefits from employers but you can look out for what you are most comfortable with.
There are plenty of agencies and hospital to choose from.

Can you be very specific and tell us JJC like us. What you wanted and what we may want in an Agency. Don't get me wrong some of us trust what you want. Cis we don't know what we ourselves want. So when we know what you want . We can draft our own want so tell us . What do you want

First, I was looking out for an agency that wasn't just about the money they are making from employers, but genuinely concerned about the candidates.

Secondly, I have heard of some agencies that don't really follow up or check up on their candidates after they've acquired their uk pin, offcourse you are expected to settle in by then though. You know this little things count shah.

Thirdly, make sure your agency can stand by you in hard times. I have heard of an agency that totally let the oversea hire nurse suffer at work place in the first few months of arrival, even when complains were made by the nurse regarding what she was going through. It was now my agency that helped resolved the matter.

Make sure you ask questions, look for people with similar agencies and hear their testimonies. Ps: no two cases are the same shah. Just pray, ask God for divine directions. Put everything into God's hands. You will be fine

First of all, we had spent money on mine.
We felt we wouldn't be able to handle to the cost. Moreover, we didn't want to just leave without checking out our destination.
Looking back I would say it probably would have been easier for us to leave at the same time.

I'm sorry for my absence
Combination of work, training, and OSCE preparations.
It's been one month in England and I have not regretted my choices even in my pre-registered state.

These people no dey use weekend play. I thought we loved flexing back home but it's nothing compared to the way they do not take their leisure for granted.
They would travel to places for holidays, there's always somewhere to go on weekends lol. Personally I've done few outings probably more than all I have done in one year back home because in my mind I was busy working. Guess what? Me too don dey plan where I go spend my next holiday. wink
