Gov bond is far better it has a high interest rate and is more secure since it’s the government. If u want to invest gov bond is the best, if not treasury bill before considering fixed deposit

I am interested but I am a novice. I delved into buying shares but was duped of over 5 million. The matter is still in court.
Where do I go to start with Bonds or Treasury?
Central Bank or Ministry of finance or . . ?
Kindly advise me. God bless you.

What about Money Market Fund? They pay between 11-13% per annum depending on the manager you chose. The interest rate does vary from day to day but it hardly goes below the above. The interest is added every day but paid quarterly and its compoundable should you choose to reinvest your interest.

It's also very liquid, you can withdraw your money whenever you like should you find a better investment vehicle. I use ARM, it's one of the highest. Do your research.

One more thing, you may have to pay management fees depending on the manager you chose, some don't. ARM's is 1.5% per annum deducted at the last quarter (kinda high I think).

Please, can you throw more light on the bolded above?
That is, how the interest is paid or compounded.

Thanks.

bonds might be cool but no one will tell u what happens when inflation sets in. Anyone who invested in a Venezuela govt bond will be bleeped big time, let me not even mention Nigeria..... Talk about good economy like UAE, Germany, not shitholes
Brilliant! I have been thinking of the possibility of investing in stable economies rather thàn naija where $1 can be equal to #180 today, #1000 tomorrow.

Invest in fixed deposit or bonds or treasury bills.
Heard about TB and it seems it's really good. I will choose bonds over fixed deposit.

I won't lie, I don't really know much about this shits, I just remember a friend gave me thesame advice once. Goodluck

You made some dicey money choices lol

I currently use fixed deposit at 8.5 interest rate. I honestly think its not so bad considering its short term.

Mine is every month

Which bank?

Depends on your risk appetite I would advise as follows

1. If you wish to access the funds after a short period, go for money market fund else go for TBills or Government Bonds

2. If the money is just an excess that you don't mind stashing away for long, go for TBills and Government Bonds

For no reason should you invest in Fixed Deposits, shares, crypto or bitcoins or whatever names they call it outside those I listed in 1 and 2

If you want to be adventurous, invest in Farmcrowdy or ThriveAgric to get good return on investments but beware of natural disaster though.

On TB what's the minimum duration, (pardon my terms) the interest rates, taxes and charges rate (if that exists) on any investment?

Sorry I'm learning
Re: Which Is Better; Fixed Deposit Or Bonds? by bigtt76(f): 1:28am On Jul 21, 2019
Normally 90 days but you can resell at a discount.

Interest rate or yield is as dictated by CBN on behalf of government.

Charges depends on the bank or broker you're using. You can't buy directly from CBN if you have less than 50 million naira.

CAN I invest in treasury bills and get monthly or after 60 days profit into my savings account for personal expenses?
When you invest in TB, your interest is paid upfront(the interest you earn will be left in your bank account). So, the interest is immediately available for you to use.

Really?

So I buy 500k TB, and they give me the interest immediately and keep the principal?

Is that what you mean?

It depend on how long you are ready to keep your money
FGN Savings Biond is for long term which the tenor is for 2 and 3 years respectively while Fixed Deposit is for short tenor. Yes Treasury Bills is a Federal Government instruments that has good investment return but the rate is currently down. Also note that there is FGN Bonds and FGN Savings Biond.
The minimum for FGN Bonds is N20m while the FGN Savings Biond minimum is N5,000. The FGN Savings Biond is available every first week of the month. You can reach me via bsanni@afrinvest.com or 09095041827 for more details.

What is the rate for Fed saving bond.

But the difference in rate seems okay especially considering longevity.

And its also very secured although i am still considering this treasury bills when the time is right
