Adolor Junction is a major bus stop along the Ugbowo-Uselu road in Benin City, the Edo state capital.

Over the years, Adolor junction has become notorious for flooding whenever it rains. When it rains, Adolor junction accumulates non-flowing floodwaters.

Flooding at Adolor junction dates as far back as close to three decades.

In 2013, the Federal Government reconstructed the Uselu-Ugbowo road. It was generally expected that this intervention effort would bring to an end the flooding at the Adolor junction. Unfortunately, the design of the reconstructed expressway placed sections of the road at unequal levels. This did little to end the decades of flooding at Adolor junction.

Flooding affects many parts of Benin City. The effects are mostly felt in Oredo and Ikpoba Okha where improper waste disposal and lack of functional drainages accentuates the impact of heavy rainfalls and worsen the flood situation.

Flooding in Benin City area is also influenced by the flat and tableland nature of the area with a high water table.

Deaths, from drowning, have been recorded at the popular Adolor junction in Benin City.

Adolor junction is in Egor Local Government Area of Edo state.

hmmm

be it Aba, Benin, Lagos cities , rain in those areas are giving the roads there bad times,

North has the advantage of good road cos it hardly rains there.

I realise too that most potholes in Lagos are dug by touts , council bus stop idimu and from CMS towards bony camp govt has repaired them for like twice this year , go there the holes are back ,

The flood is as a result of drainage blockage by residents on that stretch of road.
Floods are not mysterious occurrences but are mostly caused by indiscipline in waste disposal

From experience. The flood is much worse than this pictures you're seeing. I wish I still have those my pictures. The shop owners along the road had to raise fences blocking the flood and the road now became a sort drainage.

Adolor and tomline in uselu have been taken over by flood ones it rains while the new river at isihor just opposite the barracks has been there for 3 years now yet that short bat took millions of dollars loan from world bank and claimed he wanted to do storm water project to solve the flooding issues. My brother and sisters the black short talkative bat(though of late he hasn't been talking cos obaseki wants to probe him for the scam of a hospital our useless president commissioned) let me not deviate well the bat didn't do nothing.

The one at Council bus stop, i really don't get what the touts would gain from digging a hole there.
