this allegation happens everyday, and people don't come to social media to rant and spoiled someone image. for crying out loud how do we reason in this country. someone came to social media to accuse u, is social media now the judiciary? u have a case, u rant on social media, after some weeks, u don't file a case at any court of law. the person u accused pick it up, they sent 3 police officers to deliver letter to u, u still come online to rant. do u want social media to judge for u or court. even a case that First Lady knew about it, so why still afraid to claim ur right at the right time. pls let always reason well in this country. I pray both parties find justice.

Here are some things people are saying:

“Sending a truck load of well armed policemen to invite a woman who claimed she was raped is just so very wrong. It says to the woman that the police is working for the accused, otherwise a couple of officers could have stopped by her house to deliver the letter in a none threatening way“

“A civil case local to Lagos that should be answered in a nearby police station in Lagos. How did it become a federal criminal case with lurking armed policemen from the IGP from Abuja suveiling a private citizen’s home and intimidating him to sign a paper to appear in Abuja”

The person handling this lady's SM account ought to be sacked out rightly. You don't drag such a sensitive office into social media frays as this. All the cases of imams kidnapping and raping young girls, did she say jack about any of them?

If tomorrow the whole thing turns out to be one white lie and the accused gets exhonorated, will she publicly apologize for condemning the accused in the court of public opinion as she's doing publicly now?

BTW what Nwamaikpe said is my exact stance! Timi is just being a drama queen and believe me if those police officers were there to intimidate, he won't even be able to take a picture nor make a tweet! He should ask Sen Dino how it is.

Some of you don't know how a sane society works. Busola Dakolo alleges rape...does not file any case in court. Biodun Fatoyinbo petitions the police that its fake allegation and bothers on libel....so what next is the police meant to do? The dakolos think everything is social media? If you have evidence...u shud have gone to police to file your case initially...now u are being invited....go prove ur case....u shud be ready to defend an action u started...that's how the legal system works...naialand or instablog isn't where u prove ur case
oga they filed a case against Fatoyinbo in June. Do u know this ? undecided

Rape is a very serious offence the government frowns at and based on the account of the Dakolos, the act was committed at Abuja. It's a high profile case so it's not out of place for the FHQ to demand the case files for the case and take over the case. Please don't try to look for smoke where there's no fire.

BTW I maintain my stance... If the police were there to intimidate, my key word there is Intimidate, Timi wouldn't have been able to take a picture talk more about tweeting. He should ask Sen Dino Melaye how market!

OK but I maintain my stance, the FHQ have got jurisdiction over this case and they normally take up cases like this.

You and I were not there. Here is what someone who was there wrote (and police has not denied it):

“Sending a bus load of armed policemen and shady men lying in wait to intimidate my wife and children today, forcing their way into my home? Is that how the REAL police deliver a letter? This is the best you can do? This is why all the hurting women and families haven't come against you?”.

What is this woman's comment on RUGA?
Just before the election, she was acting like she's not with her husband. After the election, no one heard her voice.
I believe when it's time for another election, she will come out again to act as if she's different cheesy

Aisha Buhari should understand that there is a great difference between rape victim and rape claimant?

Besides, it is not out of place for the police on the request of the accused to demand that the rape claimant jusitifes her accusations before she can be officially awarded the title of victim.
And justice meted out deservingly.

I am also confined to construe this attention to the IG of Police as an act of using office as a tool for obstruction of justice.
This is no case of intimidation but that of elucidation of misrepresented facts.

The Dakolos have just gotten the best opportunity to come out with their facts, I expected them to embrace it and defend their claims.
This is more than shouting #NotInMyChurch, #MeToo or floating a money-funnel NGO.

This is about setting the facts clear.
They need not call Segalink or RuggedMan when next a strange car comes near their dirty house unless they're confirming what the bible says about the wicked who run when no one is chasing.

Well, what do I even know?

It is now I fully get his panic. That bus was there to "invite" him by whisking him and his wife to Abuja streight and the police officers will not take no for an answer. In my opinion that is arrest. I have experienced it happen. The arrive at your place eg in Lagos and expect you to drive with them to sokoto overnight(assuming they came from that police division).
An invitation is when you send a letter, call or even send police to inform the person that his/her presence is needed at a particular date and time.
So far as I can see this is an arrest.
His outcry was that they wanted to move his wife to Abuja immediately.
If you have had the experience you will understand with timi.
They should just drop the letter and timi plus the wife and their lawyer will show.

Timi Dakolo deserves every shyt he gets. He chose to put his family in the limelight for a very stupid cause. So if he gets harassed, abused and insulted, he deserves it. As for Aisha Buhari, we are not seeing her involvement in the emancipation of women and children. A randy christian pastor should be the least of her problems, or she and Abba Kyari don settle?

Seems paid agents have taken over this case on social media otherwise how does one justify delivering a letter to a supposed victim fully armed.

you are on point, throughout the picture, there was no armed policeman seen except RRS men, he personally invited through his hue and cry. How will you beat me and expect me nor to cry. Fatoyinbo, Busola and others should be bold enough to visit the station and allow police to investigate the case appropriately not a media trial if the case goes to court I believe that is how they will be complaining bias too?
