He has not been absolutely granted bail by any court. His ongoing case is that of Kaduna state which has not been decided.

To be sincere, Buhari's government isn't as bad as it seems. It's just that his use of the media has been too poor. The people he appointed there are mediocres.

I don't think Trump is any better than PMB, but the guy's use of twitter makes it easy for him to continue gaining support even in error.

Another sect terrorism financed by the Nigerian politicians loading...
Ion know how, but av gat a different opinion on this sect.

I think if this Shiite sect can burnt down a NEMA office in the cause of their protest, then their's one "OGA AT THE TOP" who have gotten an incriminating evidence before the law inside that building.
Who might have paid and instruct them to burn the building.

Fellow NLers, I stumbled on this thread on Twitter and it's eye opening for me which I thought will benefit some of you too.

Advent of social media has surely done a lot in bringing attention of govt to some issues and in amplifying some beyond what they really are.

So, I discovered through this thread that Elzazaky has been a regular customer at various detention centers across Nigeria for his views and religious activities on many occasions in the past. From Abacha to IBB and even before them. Enjoy reading about the man some of you will die to defend.

Sad news: for ur information pls:

1. Ibraheem ZakZaky has been detained several times for his ideas by past govts. Enugu (1981 - 1984) ; notorious interrogation center of NSO, Lagos (1984-1985); kirikiri max security (1985); Our own Port Harcourt (1987/89) & back to PH (1996/97)

Kaduna (1987 and 1997-1998). In 2014, Zaria Quds Day massacres, 35 people died

The govt of Sokoto in 2007 demolished an Islamic center. Furthermore clashes between Sunni & Shia residents in d state followed d assassination of Salafi Imam Umaru Danmaishiyya who was preaching against Shia.

Zakzaky is a graduate of Bsc Economics of our own ABU. Graduated with First Class . D degree was denied to him by the University authorities due to his Islamic activities

Presently , he has spent almost 18years in Dawah calling for total establishment of Islam

May 10, 2006; Sunni and Shia Islamic sects clashed in Sokoto that led to several deaths. Though d Gov Baffawara said d “skirmishes were of minimal level”

Founded Islamic Movement in late 70s when he was a student of ABU and began propagation Shia Islam around 1979 at the time of IRAN revolution. Key word “ IRAN “

He was so impressed with 1979 Iranian revolution that he wanted one at home. Later , ZakZaky went to Iran , ultimately becoming a SHIA CLERIC. At home, he became d leader, gained followers in 1990s. Sunni still control 90% of d population

If you have read El Zakzaky's story, then this shouldn't come as a surprise to you. The man has always been at odds with the system.

At least I remember reading somewhere that Gen. Abdusalami was the one who granted him freedom from prison after General Abacha had had him locked away in the late 90s.

This is no news but kudos to the Op all the same for at least enlightening some folks here.

This statement is tantamount to telling a child to remove his hand from a hole (because he could get bitten by snakes or scorpions), and the child says "don't worry, it's only my left hand".

Are you alright comparing Trump to Buhari? that's an insult to insult. Trump is a successful businessman, IQ very high, highly intelligent. compare Buhari to african leaders maybe then he can score higher than some. Mr President doesn't know shit about governance, He was a quota system general that failed all the senior military courses according to Nasir el Rufai.

Detained by Sunni-led governments. These Sunni Muslims are using federal resource to fight the Shi'a.

Are the Shi'a not more ingenious than the Sunnis? Isn't Iran more ingenious than the entire middle east countries put together? (Exception of Israel and Lebanon due to their large Jewish and Christian population)

Nigerians should be careful who they pick sides with

There are millions of people in Nigeria like you that have very low way of thinking. Even to read something simple and comprehend what was written is very hard for you and the likes of you, and this is one of the major problem in Nigeria as a whole. Absolute illiteracy is what has brought more of the pains in Nigeria than the government itself.
I can imagine your thinking faculty right now as you read this post and the only thing you could think of is that the man is detained by a Sunni led government. So are you saying all the times he has been detained as shown in the post were all Sunni led government. See how you just came out in public to show how unreasonable you are.

Let me add something here:

If El ZakZaky really wants to emulate or replicate the Shia revolution in Iran of 1979 here in Nigeria, then he should read Ayatollah Khomeini's script thoroughly.

Ayatollah Khomeini's revolution did not become successful until he went into exile and started broadcasting anti-Shah/establishment messages/propaganda from across the border.

So, maybe if Sheikh El Zakzaky can proceed on exile in Niger or Chad or Mali then his "market will begin to sell".

I think someone should pay me "consultation fee" for this free advise that I have just given him. sad

That is simply because the government from the past had always been close marking their activities and when they want to get deep, government always steps in and wisk away their leader. That is exactly what the post is trying to make you understand.

The leader of Boko Haram was killed and Boko Haram became violent and started killing people up till today. So if ZakZaky and his people were that violent, why haven't they grown like Boko Haram? Anyway, this is between two factions of Islam and both factions know the root of the problems.

My dear no offense but you seem a little lost. Where and when did they kill the leader of Boko Haram? Their leader is still very much alive and that is why they are still growing. If he had been killed or captured then trust me, they would have been history by now.
