Please who has an idea of the cost of writing TCF, and when they are likely to kickstart in Lagos. I wrote TEF in Ibadan in June and did not make B2 all through, but I learnt TCF is easier. I have been able to get some materials and links to practice for TCF, thanks to this forum and a friend. But I would like to know the cost of the exam. I am looking to write in October cos that's when my ECA will be completed.

One thing I realise about TEF is that unlike IELTS or TCF, there are limited materials to practice with. So I found myself practicing with the same materials over and over again.

We did the listening first and I was able to hear them speak but I guess I didn't choose the correct answers so I got 196 which was CLB5

For the reading, I used the tips I got from this forum i.e do the first 10 and the last 10 first so I did that. The comprehension passages were quite long and technical to me. At the end I scored 181 CLB 6

For the Expressiion ecrite I practice with the youtube videos of mimi TEF and used her tips. i got the lowest here CLB 4

Lastly the expression orale. for the first part I was to ask 10 questions concerning test driving new cars and the second part, I was to convince a friend to patronise farmers market. I got CLB5 here.

I am still going to write french again but this time I will give myself between now and October or November.

Although materials seem limited, there are quite a few websites that you can use apart from the 2 TEF books. Also read this thread again from the beginning. Njbybrthnly posted some grammar books, Ayboye posted about EE part B, DanMisla and Bellerin also posted about use of good grammar for EE in general. And Bellerin also had some phrases for when you are stuck in EO and concentration during CO.

For listening....daily listening to french radio helps, I think

For writing...I think mastery of french grammar and a bit of creative thinking and writing is the key here.....an intriguing or funny story for part A and dialectic essay style reasoning/argument for part B.

For speaking...having a hand full of fall-back phrases may help

For reading...you are almost there with CLB 6, daily reading the papers...le Monde etc may do it.

Maybe try Duolingo...but you'll need to add other resources to effectively study for the exam

Welcome...all the info you need is here....you just need to mine it..... There is an alliance francaise in Ibadan TEF there is 120k. TEF in Lagos is 160k.
