I just got a Toyota corolla 2007 model last year. Initially i used conventional Mobil oil (the one sold for 5K). I later switched to Mobil synthetic this year and have not serviced my car in 6 months. The car is jerking a bit and i got our company driver to check, he says i may have to change the plugs and service the car... Some of my friends says Synthetic oil is not necessary for Older, high mileage cars... my car is about 135k.... what do you think please ?

Since it's a little high mileage and is stalling, I would go synthetic but it's not necessary. Regular 3 month or 3,000 mile conventional oil changes is fine but synthetic will be better but not compulsory.

If you haven't done your 120k mile complete tune-up, do it along with a synthetic change then revert.

I've included some things supposed to have been done already.

Brand is not as important as grade. You need 5w20 whether conventional or synthetic.

Aunty Radu, i just got an old fashioned 2001 Ford Mondeo and the AC broke down yesterday, prior to this, i changed the compressor two weeks ago and everything seemed fine until i took a client out to Gbagada yesterday.
He complained that my AC was blowing hot which i confirmed later on , when he alighted, i took it to the AC technician around my area who diagnosed it and said the evaporator is bad but i didn't believe him until he filled another gas which didn't last for an hour.
He said the dashboard would be disassemble in order to fix it and i am scared for my car.
It might be an old fashioned but its a Tokunbo car which arrived in July and it hasn't passed the road test yet.

Gas gone in an hour=leak. Need to run leak detector through system. Considering how fast it went should be quick and easy. What kind of compressor did you get and did you change hoses and recommended accessories like receiver drier etc at the same time?
