Isn't it funny how I who asked you the question is satisfied by your response. Incidentally, the post that makes up this thread was in response to the same individual!

I should pay £50 for answers because that was a clue.

Another attempt.

Jesus expressly admonishes:

Matthew 6: 19- 21

Do not lay up for yourself treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourself treasures in heaven where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is there your heart will be also.

From this, we can see that the man who put his money in a vault will lose focus on the things above.

While his total cash may amount to 480 pounds, he will miss out on eternal rewards which are far more valuable than all the money in the world. So in the end he has nothing.
So, a wiser man would focus on the things above and not lay up fleeting treasures.

PS: I read through this thread again and no one mentioned this verse. shocked

Your money flies away before you know it, just like an eagle suddenly taking off."
- Proverbs 23:5

"Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment."
- 1 Timothy 6:17

I considered the verse but when I reviewed it properly I came to the conclusion it doesnt merit mentioning it, so I instead used Proverbs 23:5 and 1 Timothy 6:17, as in the two above

"Why should a fool have money in his hand to buy wisdom when he doesn't have a mind to grasp anything?"
(i.e. It does a fool no good to spend money on an education, because he has no common sense.)

Hear in KJV:

"Wherefore is there a price in the hand of a fool to get wisdom, seeing he hath no heart to it?" Proverbs 17:16

No heart to getting wisdom, or no heart to pay the price of getting wisdom? The same wisdom that crieth out in the public square, "please simple, have some?"

What is meant by treasures?

How does one store the meant treasures where moths nor dust can't destroy it and where thieves cannot break in and steal it?

Treasure

A valued or a valuable item. --- Oxford dictionary

How one can store or should not store treasures can be seen from the parable of the rich fool. cheesy

Luke 12: 13-- 21 (NIV)

Someone in the crowd said to him,
"Teacher tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me"

Jesus replied; "man who appointed me a judge or an arbiter between you" Then he said to them "watch out, be on your guard against all kinds of greed; "life does not consist in an abundance of possessions"

And he told them this parable: "The ground of a certain rich man yielded an abundant harvest."

"He thought to himself; what shall I do? I have no place to store my crops."

"Then he said, this is what I'll do. I'll tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I'll store my surplus grain. And I'll say to myself, you have plenty of grain laid up for many years. Take life easy, eat drink and be merry."

"But God said to him: you fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. The who will get what you have prepared for yourself."

This is how it would be for whoever stores up things for themselves but is not rich toward God

Form the foregoing verses, we can see that while we might think that our treasures are our money, jewellery, or other material things we think valuable. Jesus has a different definition: our life, our soul. That's the real treasure grin

Mark 8:36
What shall it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his soul?

So, "the real treasure" is "our life and our soul"?

How does one lose one's life and one's soul, and where does one store one's life and soul so moths nor dust can't destroy it and where thieves cannot break in and steal it?

We can do this by focusing on things that can not be bought. Love, kindness, humility and generally being virtuous.

A Christian (the Nigerian type) might say that Jesus meant piety, devotion and righteousness/holiness.

I choose to be less rigid. A mother's love for example cannot be bought, neither can little acts of kindness or charity.
I think the whole storing of treasures in the right manner can be reduced to the golden rule. "Do unto others as you would want them to do unto you".

Sounds like one is the fruit of the other. 'In as much as one does these things - "Love, kindness, humility and generally being virtuous" to those whom one sees, one has done these things - "piety, devotion and righteousness/holiness" to/for/by/ the Lord God Almighty whom one seest not'.

How then is it treasure, and what is meant by storing it?

Remember that the definition of treasure is something valuable. So that things that we do to those we see are valuable to those who are on the receiving end of those acts. We also receive them in many folds.
Give and it shall be given unto you, good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over shall men give to you.
The Lord God we do not see also treasures our act of piety/devotion/ and righteousness and also rewards us for them.
We can see this in the life of King Solomon who pleased God with his sacrifice that God asked him to make any demand he so desired.

God inhabits the praises of his people. Psalm 22 vs 3.

It is treasure because it is valuable to those who it is directed towards.

To understand how it is stored, we only have to look at the parable of the talents already touched by an earlier commenter.
To store means to make use of it in an appropriate and productive manner. Whatever talents (treasure) we have been entrusted with, we are to use it for the benefit of others and to the glory of God instead of being selfish (hoarding it) like the unfaithful servant and the hypothetical man in your opening post.

Thank you. A question. The unfaithful servant hid his master's wealth and put it not to profit. My hypothetical person just had a pound put in a vault every month and not where it would be stolen or eaten by moths. Where are they similar?

One more question. Why should one use one's treasure and talents "for the benefit of others"? Let me shout this please, Why, Ranchhonddas should anyone use their talents for the benefit of others? Do those others include the lazy modafuqas yelling, "Crucify him"? Should one be the messiah?

Pardon my shouting, its shock.

Here is another slant to all this keeping a pound in a vault business.

1/ What is the goal of this 40 year old man with the idea of putting a dollar away in a vault, hmm?
2/ Does this man consider the impact of inflation on his buried and hidden away savings, hmm?
3/ Does he understand at all that the money hes put in the vault, is going to be eroded by inflation, hmm?
4/ Does he know there are better money saving ideas than hiding money away in a vault, hmm?
5/ Whats my #5 question again. Its skipped my mind. Sorry.

"No one lights a lamp and puts it under a basket (i.e. or in a vault, I would guess). Instead, everyone who lights a lamp puts it on a lamp stand. Then its light shines on everyone in the house.
(i.e. people don't light a lamp and put it under a basket but on a lamp stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.)"
- Matthew 5:15

"But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,

They are similar in that they both think they are doing the right thing. What they have in common is their lack of knowledge. Money stored rots.
It can be stolen, attacked by moths etc. Money put to good use/invested multiplies and is a blessing to the investor and those around him.

One more question. Why should one use one's treasure and talents "for the benefit of others"? Let me shout this please, Why, Ranchhonddas should anyone use their talents for the benefit of others? Do those others include the lazy modafuqas yelling, "Crucify him"? Should one be the messiah?

We should use our talents for the benefits of others because there is no better way to use them. A life of sacrifice and helping others brings more fulfillment than any other.
If you don't, you are cheating yourself anyway.
Selfishness/miserliness helps no one. Not even the miser. I remember reading somewhere that the miser is as wretched as the spendthrift. Talent must be put to good use.
The messiah prayed for his killers on the cross saying " Father forgive them for they KNOW NOT what they do"

So the matter turns on knowledge. We should also include our would-be crucifiers because they wouldn't crucify us if they knew better.
Our acts of virtue can also show them the error of their ways.

Pound is money, wisdom, learning, knowledge, intelligence, abilities, skill, goodwill, talents, logos, pound, soul, life etc. Some have at least defined it as such.

It really is true that ever since God took the risk to create human beings in his image and likeness, human beings, wasted no time, in having the boldness to reciprocate the gesture back. Human beings, to date are responding by making their own graven image and likeness of God version(s)

The above, in fact sounds like Platonism's "Form of the Good", the "Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect" Christianity, the goal of the Philosopher King who reigns in heaven, those who would be the Messiah of the world and not that of everybody else who is ruled or waiting to be saved.

I can't help think Christians are meant to learn to bear their own cross first before helping remove the twig from the eyes of others. Or can those with forests in their eye bear the cross of another? Are there not even some who go about, some intentionally some mistakenly, planting forests in their own and other people's eye instead of pruning branches?

Though Paul can't help his mysticism and the Word lieth not. The issue is, why give my wealth to lazy manna people? Is it not true anymore that sowers reap? Must more blood be shed for salvation?

Please note that my explanatorys so far constitute clues to the right answer, which, going by my reckoning, leaves a token sum for anyone who gets the answer right. I'll double it for ingenuity. Meanwhile, here's a rich man who might feed the starving. As for buda, you all have brains. If you used it you will be blessed. And the work is plenty but the workers few.
