Pound is money, wisdom, learning, knowledge, intelligence, abilities, skill, goodwill, talents, logos, pound, soul, life etc. Some have at least defined it as such.
WHAT YOU particularly, Define Pound As Is What Matters.

Money Will Never Buy Intelligence no Matter How Much Is Saved up, It Will Never Buy Knowledge and In The End Everything Saved Up Will Amount To Nothing.

Saving Up Knowledge Will Be A Waste Because Knowledge Not Used Will Amount To Nothing But Dryness...

No Amount Of Pound Saved Up Will Be Enough amount to Know Everything or Have Everything.

Only A Selfish man Will Save Up These Pounds For Years because The Best Way To Save Up Intellect or Intelligence And Secure Wealth And Its Longivity Is To put It In The Heart Of Men Who Understand or Else Every Thing Saved Up Will Amount To Nothing or Dryness as I Earlier Said. So In The End He Saved Up Nothing

Kindly show me where Plato. I will be misleading and that must be corrected.
I mean if god can interact with humans then he should be measurable. Imagine a case where you come to and you tell me you feel god in your heart or mind. If I carry you for an ECG test I would be able to tell you how, where and what does feeling are like. Meaning god only exists in the mind

If these are clues then... embarassed
budaatum:

The above, in fact sounds like Platonism's "Form of the Good", the "Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect" Christianity, the goal of the Philosopher King who reigns in heaven, those who would be the Messiah of the world and not that of everybody else who is ruled or waiting to be saved.
Noted.

I can't help think Christians are meant to learn to bear their own cross first before helping remove the twig from the eyes of others. Or can those with forests in their eye bear the cross of another? Are there not even some who go about, some intentionally some mistakenly, planting forests in their own and other people's eye instead of pruning branches?
The man should have invested his 480 pounds, used the rewards for himself before proceeding to help others

Though Paul can't help his mysticism and the Word lieth not. The issue is, why give my wealth to lazy manna people?
Giving your wealth to "lazy manna people" is only bad if you do not bring them to the right understanding of wealth, its uses and methods of acquisition.
Is it not true anymore that sowers reap?
Remember the parable of the sower. Sowers would not reap if they sowed on stony ground or if the enemy comes and plants tares when men sleep.
Must more blood be shed for salvation?
No. But people need to know that the shed blood is already enough. More blood will be shed if people are ignorant.
My people perish for lack of knowledge.

Please note that my explanatorys so far constitute clues to the right answer, which, going by my reckoning, leaves a token sum for anyone who gets the answer right. I'll double it for ingenuity. Meanwhile, here's a rich man who might feed the starving. As for buda, you all have brains. If you used it you will be blessed. And the work is plenty but the workers few.

Sorry for socraticism, but I'd think one must first have that which one saves in order to be able to put some of it aside. Besides, the pound went in the vault from month one long before the 40 year old got intellect or a pound or became capable of putting things in vaults.

Well, lets perhaps not jump ahead of ourselves now, I'm not exactly wealthy, it's why I raised my summer fund with this thread.

"Wealth", that which would be treasure that is stored where moths don't eat it, is for those who do the work and have treasure to store, and if it truly is treasure, and would be shared, it ought to "bring them (that receive of it) to the right understanding of wealth, its uses and methods of acquisition", or the treasure is in vain, and doesn't do whatever it says treasure ought to do which is, enrich.

I guess the next question, worker hoddas, is, what enriches? But I know you work. I seen you working.

Wasn't talking about your "wealth", I was talking about the hypothetical man's 480 pound wealth. I understand the confusion though.

Solomon the "peaceful" and "friend of God" is my most admired person in Scripture. From the abundance of his own heart he asked for wisdom and knowledge, and:

God said to Solomon, “Since this is your heart’s desire and you have not asked for wealth, possessions or honor, nor for the death of your enemies, and since you have not asked for a long life but for wisdom and knowledge to govern my people over whom I have made you king, therefore wisdom and knowledge will be given you. And I will also give you wealth, possessions and honor, such as no king who was before you ever had and none after you will have.”

Reminds me why I don't pray. It would after all be odd to go "Lord, give me knowledge and wisdom", all the time as if it would drop down like manna from heaven.

What work does one do to be given or to attain wisdom and knowledge, Hoddas?

Proverbs 1:7

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom

James 1:5
If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault.

I find this verse to be very interesting in relation to this thread. Take a look.

Ecclesiastes 2:26
To the person who pleases him, God gives wisdom, knowledge and happiness, but to the sinner he gives the task of gathering and storing up wealth to hand it over to the one who pleases God. This too is meaningless, a chasing after the wind.

Ecclesiastes 2:26 is the more relevant one. At least as far as the question asked goes. The "fear" in Proverbs 1:7 should perhaps be "revere", or "love the Lord" even, though it might depend on the abundance of the heart of the person whether they need to fear, revere, or love the Lord. And James, or rather, Jacob, his rightful Jewish name, would mean a lot when he says "ask God". Which hardly answers the question on, which with a little thought, was, "How does one ask God for wisdom and knowledge"? Or rather, what is it that one must do for God to give one wisdom and knowledge? A question you rightly answer with "Please God" in Ecclesiastes 2:26.

I believe it would be remiss of me not to follow in the steps of one who asked, "and what shall I do to enter the Kingdom of God", for it implies the Kingdom of the Wise with assumptions of worthiness. So I'll ask the question more relevant to my status.

How, please, hoddas, do I go about pleasing God?

Going by your question in the OP. A 40 year old putting in a pound every month of his/her life in a moth proof vault.

The worth of such an individual cannot be quantified, it largely depends on how such a person puts the knowledge obtained into use.

Hmmm...

I'm sure theologians could write dissertations on pleasing God if they wanted.
But I believe the Messiah already explained how as simply and as succintly as only the Messiah could grin

Matthew 22:36

"Teacher what is the greatest commandment in the law?"
Jesus said to him, "you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your mind". "This is the first and great commandment, and the second is like it." "You shall love your neighbour as yourself. On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets"

Obviously, what the Messiah was saying was that every other commandment will be fulfilled if these two are obeyed.

Ergo, if you obey these two commandments, God will be well pleased. cool

Now, with the second in mind, though I confess to yet seeing how specifically loving my Lord my God with all my heart and soul and being, I must add, and mind and my neighbour too, equates to being in receipt of wisdom, still, let it be assumed that all agents are wise though we have not yet clarified how they got wise.

How much wiseness would be in a wise vault of a wise 40 year old who put in a wise pound every wise month they lived wisely?

Here's a trick question for everyone. How much would be in a vault of a 40 year old who put in a pound every month they lived?

the day he/she was born there is nothing put in the vault
a pound is put in the vault at the end of the month - every month they lived
there would be 479 pounds in the vault the day he/she turned 40
plus 1 pound a month for every month he/she lived after turning 40

I don't know Hebrew. But I believe someone said it's "no image, no sculpture." I went through the first part of your reference and I did not see anything. I'm a bit stumped here.

From one hint you gave on an earlier page; becoming wise hinges on the adherence to the great commandments as given by the Messiah; but the one who seeks wisdom has to be pragmatic, intiutive, studious etc. Every day you live and everything you experience contributes to the wealth of wisdom you possess. There is no end to the acquisition of wisdom. Deciding to obey the great commandments is wisdom in itself no?

How much wiseness would be in a wise vault of a wise 40 year old who put in a wise pound every wise month they lived wisely?
I am tempted to say 40year worth of wisdom but this would be assuming that wisdom is a straight line. That the 40 year old man is necessarily wiser that say a 35year old man. The more you live; the wiser you get embarassed
But Jedidiah was a young king when he was imbued with wisdom of the Divine kind, so that answer would not be strictly accurate.

The revelation should eliminate the zero wise pound people who make saving seem like devil worship instead of school fees.
Saving is great. This is actually the pragmatic approach to acquiring wisdom. Does this mean 40-year worth of wisdom is what the man has?

This whole thing is making my head ache literally. shocked

Wisdom is a gift. Wisdom is obtained as a gift. The Giver gives wisdom that people get and wisdom is given for a reason, that being to be productively, correctly and judiciously be used

budaatum:
How much wiseness would be in a wise vault of a wise 40 year old who put in a wise pound every wise month they lived wisely?
40 years symbolises a generation and a fool at 40, is said to be a fool forever. Wisdom, wise pound(s) saved in a vault of a period of 40 years is like being a wasted and jaded generation, because its never used, not invested, is hidden away in a vault, literally amounting to nothing but depreciation, devaluation and reduction in value after the 40 years.

We all are aware that 40 years ago intelligence and/or wisdom, is not necessarily the same as present day intelligence and/or wisdom

One barrier to coming up with the right answer, in this case, is the lack of use of personal experience. For some reason, many ignore their experience and disregard it's place where Wisdom is concerned. Instead of considering how Wisdom is acquired, most are like you, the Holy Spirit will bring it down from heaven like manna. You toil not but expect to eat despite the Lord thy God specifically cursing that the lazy shall starve to death! Or is it not true anymore that a lack of knowledge is the cause of death?

We don't so much "make our intellect God", muttley, for our arrogance won't permit us, it appearing to show us the limits of our puny mind everytime we think too highly of ourselves. Which one of us after all has said, "Let there be light", and light is? What we do is understand God according to our intellect, with the idea of God as conceived by your own intellect different to the same God from the same text as conceived by the intellect of some. Is it not, afterall, the amount of intellectual work to gain an understanding that one has done that makes one's God have abominations and another's God love the abominable? Is the reason for argument on here not because we all have different understandings of God?

It is only the evildoer who benefits from the lack of use of intellect, for in the dark called ignorance does it get to promote its evil ways. Those with Intellect, it being the proper use of the senses, the 'science of living', the 'Jesus Christ', might understand that education is the mud that opens the eyes, which without, one can not turn the other cheek.

There was a reason you were excluded from the paypal, muttley. You may refer back to your first answer and perhaps see why. 4 pages later, in a thread of "Thou shalt not create graven images", the lesson remains unlearned.

Those who understand, as I said, do "not go about creating graven images of God with [their] puny intellect as if it was watching from high on a mountain". "Those who store wealth in moth proof vaults from birth as suggested do not use their stored up wealth to create graven images because they and their intellect serve the Lord."

You are not "curious to learn", muttley. You already assume to know it all and are too afraid to learn, and typically, you confuse the twig in my eye for the forest in yours.

1 Corinthians 4:7 For who concedes you any superiority? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you received it, why do you boast as though you did not?

For wisdom provides protection, just as money provides protection. But the advantage of knowledge is this: Wisdom preserves the life of its owner.

In this passage, we never heard Jesus say, "Get to work!” But what we do hear Jesus say is this, "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” (Matt. 6:21).

Like an experienced doctor who can diagnose the source of your ailment, Jesus knows that our struggle is an issue of the heart—not what we do or don’t do.

This is why Jesus connected his command to stop laying up “earthly treasures” and store up “treasures in heaven” to the heart. He knows that what we value is reflected in how we live.

On the one hand, when the “world” is your desire, you'll be committed to storing up "earthly treasures.” On the other hand, when Jesus is your treasure, you’ll devote your life to live for his glory and the good others.

Today, as yourself: Do I treasure Jesus or do you treasure the world? Do I obsess over earning more money or buying more things? Or am I consumed with living and loving like Jesus? The answer to these questions will let you if you're living from Jesus from your heart.

budaatum:
One barrier to coming up with the right answer, in this case, is the lack of use of personal experience. For some reason, many ignore their experience and disregard it's place where Wisdom is concerned. Instead of considering how Wisdom is acquired, most are like you, the Holy Spirit will bring it down from heaven like manna.
"Now if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God--who gives to all generously and ungrudgingly--and it will be given to him"
- James 1:5

budaatum:
You toil not but expect to eat despite the Lord thy God specifically [url=https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Genesis+3%3A17-19&version=NKJV]cursing[/url] that the lazy shall starve to death! Or is it not true anymore that a lack of knowledge is the cause of death?
"6Stop being gullible and live. Start traveling the road to understanding."
7Whoever corrects a mocker receives abuse. Whoever warns a wicked person gets hurt.
8Do not warn a mocker, or he will hate you. Warn a wise person, and he will love you.
9Give [advice] to a wise person, and he will become even wiser. Teach a righteous person, and he will learn more.
10The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom. The knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
11You will live longer because of me, and years will be added to your life
(i.e. For through wisdom your days will be multiplied, and years will be added to your life)
12If you are wise, your wisdom will help you. If you mock, you alone will be held responsible.
"
- Proverbs 9:6-12

budaatum:
We don't so much "make our intellect God", muttley, for our arrogance won't permit us,
I am 110% quite sure I consciously used "god" and not "God"

budaatum:
it appearing to show us the limits of our puny mind everytime we think too highly of ourselves.
This is like 7up, the difference is clear between both of them mate.

budaatum:
Is the reason for argument on here not because we all have different understandings of God?
We need to admit to ourselves, that most times, we havent spent enough time thinking about and properly digesting a particular subject of interest before darting off forming opinions about it. The reason for the discussion on here is, with the different levels of understanding of God, some interlocutors, share their own opinions while other interlocutors, appropriately interject, to share facts. The latter state facts and while the former is bent on advancing arguments without knowing the facts.

budaatum:
It is only the evildoer who benefits from the lack of use of intellect, for in the dark called ignorance does it get to promote its evil ways. Those with Intellect, it being the proper use of the senses, the 'science of living', the 'Jesus Christ', might understand that education is the mud that opens the eyes, which without, one can not turn the other cheek.
Intelligence, as I've previously and always have said, is a God given gift. It is given to us, in order that we have the ability, means and power to investigate and thereafter appreciate God and the handiwork wonders of His creation. God has never once feel threatened by our scientific meddlings, tinkerings and adventure(s). Why? Because whatever man gets up to, God still is in control and has everything under wraps.

budaatum:
There was a reason you were excluded from the paypal, muttley. You may refer back to your first answer and perhaps see why. 4 pages later, in a thread of "Thou shalt not create graven images", the lesson remains unlearned.
Its because you feel threatened, you're scared and you're a tight arsed fisted git, lol

budaatum:
Those who understand, as I said, do "not go about creating graven images of God with [their] puny intellect as if it was watching from high on a mountain". "Those who store wealth in moth proof vaults from birth as suggested do not use their stored up wealth to create graven images because they and their intellect serve the Lord."
Correctly put budaatum, they do make no false knowledge, do not make false representation of God, do not advance perverted intelligence about God. Do not paint a false picture of God etcetera

budaatum:
You are not "curious to learn", muttley. You already assume to know it all and are too afraid to learn, and typically, you accuse the twig in my eye with the forest in yours.
No one except for God, is an island of knowledge budaatum. I am yet to meet a man, so ignorant that I couldn't learn something from. Trust me budaatum, there is always inviting room, in my body, mind and soul, to learn more. I am a sucker to learn(ing).
