A 43-year-old commercial driver identified as Kabiru Bello allegedly committed suicide at a mechanic workshop in Lagos on Saturday.

Bello, a resident of 77, Owode Ibeshe in Ikorodu allegedly drank insecticide suspected to be sniper at the workshop located at Ladylack Bus Stop, Somolu around 1pm.

It was gathered that the Bello was inside his bus with registration number AKD724XM when he drank the substance.

People at the workshop were said to have rushed him to Adesola Clinic in Somolu where he was confirmed dead.

According to police spokesman Bala Elkana, a Deputy Superintendent (DSP), homicide detectives visited the scene and discovered an empty bottle suspected to have contained sniper, adding that his body was deposited in mortuary for autopsy.

Meanwhile, policemen attached to Ilemba Hausa Division in Ojo at the weekend recovered two single barrel guns from fleeing armed robbers said to have fleeced a young man of his laptop.

It was gathered that the police has received distress call around 9:30pm on Saturday that suspected armed robbers attacked one Wale Lawal and dispossessed him of his valuable.

Elkana said a team of policemen were deployed to tail them, adding that the suspects abandoned their operational black Honda vehicle with number plate Lagos KJA705BU.

“On the spot search of the vehicle led to the recovery of two locally made single barrel guns with twelve life cartridges, one laptop and a mobile phone. The vehicle was moved to the station for further investigation,” he said.

This is the second suicide news today
This is disheartening
Once you are depressed and having suicidal thoughts please seek help and talk to others about it.
Whatever it is you are going through "suicide isn't the solution". You will only cause sorrow for your loved ones
No matter how grievous you offence is talking about it to the right set of people will relieve you. If you are too ashamed to tell the people around you or you can't trust them with your information. Then look for someone else that can be trusted. We have religious leaders, professional psychologist or counsellors or you can choose to talk to an anonymous person online.
Don't die in silence, hence adding sorrow upon sorrow.
Let us watch out for people around us as well especially introverts. They wouldn't tell you their problems except you ask or they can trust you with such information.

The country is as good as fvcked. Really a terrible zone.

85% percent of Nigerians are outrighly suffering, 10% are suffering and smiling, while the remaining 5% are doing the suffering and smiling without even knowing it. Travel and see if in doubt.

Tell me how boogharia would agree to pay the agreed minimum wage or even unturn deaf ears to the fact that higher percentage of Nigerians are going through hell, after seeing this pot bellied slowpoke below putting on khaki...looking well fed with his gully water filled belly.

Many people are in depression in Nigeria. God will save us. Suicide is not the way out of trouble. Jesus is the way.

Nice point, but the problem now is how will this message get to the 98% of the illiterate Nigerian who does not know how to read and write?
