See eehn? It's not every time you type. There are times you need to adopt waka pass strategy esp if you can't decipher what is being said. Don't look at mere words, look at context and content. The guy you quoted wrote historical facts, some of which are points of rancour till today but see how you just cheapened the whole thing with ur poorly thought response. It doesn't reflect well on you really.

I believe most of you do not know me. I have been a member since 2007. You can check my profile if u do not believe me. I mainly read comments just to laugh, feel sad, be ashamed or just feel sorry...Almost all the comments and posts have elements of tribalism and hate. Some people have made it their sole responsibilities to only post spiteful things that will promote tribalism and hate. It seems this generation are agents of hate and tribalism. Other youths from other countries are busy making their economies better and u guys are busy here insulting one another on daily basis. What a shame! The most painful thing is that other nationals are members of nairaland and they see the way u guys insult and abuse each other. It is really appalling. The likes of Dankote, Tony Elumelu and Mike Adenuga are busy making more money and helping the economy while u guys are busy displaying hatred and tribalism everyday here. What a shame! Some of u here are graduates with masters degrees and PHDs. Some are even pastors children. The most shameful and disgusting thing is to be educated and still display tribalism. Our musicians are busy collaborating with each other irrespective of their tribes just to release nice music videos in the aim of making more money while u guys are busy here attacking each other from right, left, back, front and center every Blessed day. What a shame! It is because of this tribalism rooted in our youths that made our politicians not to take us seriously. Trust me if we continue to dwell in tribalism and hate, no African country will respect us again and with time u might need a visa to go to Cotonou or Benin republic and the rest of other African countries. For those that believe in God and heaven. I wonder how u will make heaven if u house hatred and tribalism in your hearts. Nigeria is really a great nation but this tribalism is messing us up big time. Site Armin please anybody that posts spiteful or tribal comments should be banned.... Re: PDP Bot Chairman, Sen. Walid Jibrin Supports RUGA by oyatz(m): 8:34am On Aug 14, 2019
The pronenents of RUGA only look at it from their own views but easily ignore the equally valid views of the opponents of the policy.

1) RUGA involve LAND, which in this part of the world can draw emotional attachment from many people. This is complicated by the fact that it will be acquired from the current owners and hand over to the Fulani Herdsmen for use in perpertuity.

2) RUGA which was initially conceptualized for the whole country is not concerned about poultry, Piggery, Snail farming, Fisheries or any other Agricultural business that doesn't involve the Fulanis in a country of over 200 ethnic groups.
This reinforced the perception of promotion of a super ethnic group or what some people called Fulanization of Nigeria.

3) Proponents fail to explain how RUGA will stop Herder's crisis.
If a herd of 200 cattle are to be moved from Mokwa, Niger State to Nyanya, Abuja.
Will these cattle still be allowed to move on foot or the National RUGA Management Authority will provide Heavy duty trucks to convey them and enforce the Herders to pay for transportation instead of moving their herds by foot?

4) The issue of Finance: who will be paying for the running cost of the RUGA settlements?

No, don't FooOOOool urself Mr Herdsman.

In this FG RUGA thing, buhari will pay locals for their land and hand it over to Fulani. As long as RUGA involves Herdsmen and cow owners renting or leasing land from southerners, then it's okay.

RUGA is for Fulani and Fulani alone. They have been given land in the north for herding and they collect the lands permanently.

There is nothing like middle belt. What we have is states in the north central and you are not in the position to speak for north central. Niger State is part of this Ruga arrangement, so deal with it.

Sen. Walid Jibrin, the Chairman, Board of Trustees (BOT), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has urged Nigerians to embrace the establishment of Rural Grazing Areas (RUGA) programme of the Federal Government.

Jibrin told newsmen at his Nasarawa country home on Tuesday in Nasarawa State that the proposed settlement policy for herdsmen would promote peace and security in the country.

He also explained that the programme would boost food security and improve on the health and standard of living of rural communities.

Jibrin, who is also the Sarkin (leader) of Fulani in Nasarawa state, commended the federal government for introducing the RUGA programme in the country considering its importance.

“I am not in APC, I am a PDP chieftain. But when we talk of development and security, we should leave anything about politics, religion and tribe.

“Whoever is ruling in Nigeria, if he brings any programme that will do away with insecurity, killings.

“And will take care of the welfare of the people, I will go by that. My politics is not a do or die and I play politics without bitterness.

“That is why I am and we Fulani commends the Federal Government for introducing the RUGA project in the country.

“I and our tribe (Fulani) had embraced the programme. RUGA project include provision of hospitals, schools, water supply and electricity, among other facilities, which will have direct bearing on the lives of the herders.

“Apart from that, it will also tackle incessant farmers/herdsmen conflicts as well as boost food security in the country,” he said.

Jibrin also called on the Igbo and Yoruba ethnic groups to embrace the programme in the interest of national development.

“About 12 states in the North have already embraced it and has already started the project including Nasarawa State.

“So, I am calling on the Southerners, the Igbos, the Yorubas, among others, to embrace it, evenhough the project is not compulsory.

“The project will keep the herdsmen one, safe and will improve on their welfare as some states in the South East have already promised to donate land for the project,” he noted.

He therefore called on all herdsmen and other Nigerians to shun armed robbery, kidnapping and other negative tendencies in the interest of peace and development.

The PDP BOT chairman also urged Nigerians to live peacefully irrespective of their ethnic, religious and political affiliation for develoment to reign. (NAN)

The RUGA idea is not bad provided it remains in the north n in states voluntarily interested, any attempt by whatsoever guise to impose it on other states forcefully will just be a recipe for disaster.

RUGA is not bad, Atiku don't have to renounce it but simply convince the north n fulani about the business opportunities that abound in it n then restrict it to the north for the time being that's all,RUGA is rejected Nationwide n with good reason because people look at it as an attempted by buhari to impose his kinsmen on the whole country to perpetuate their political dominance n that is unacceptable.
