Pls who can help me unlock my lg vk810 4g tablet, i went to computer village and i was told that it can not be unlocked because it is a land line tablet which they called a CDMA

Pls i urgently need to unlock my LG vk810 4G tab... is there any software engineer here ?

So it can not be unlocked.....i was actually think if i can take it to mtn office weather they can give me a land line sim.....i beleive that can work with it

The phone can be unlocked but you can only use CDMA network on it not GSM. I don't know if MTN-visaphone is still a CDMA network.

It can be done at computer village, but do you have a CDMA line you intend to use?

if you just intend to use it but because it's locked it can't be used then just install custom ROM and have peace of mind. Why waste money unlocking when it won't work with any sim.

The last visaphone I bought with a modem is actually GSM not CDMA.

Bros forget about unlocking it unless u just want to dash someone ur money. It's a cdma tablet and doesn't support gsm. No GPRS, no edge, no 2g. Just cdma LTE. Just use it with WiFi.

You really are giving yourself headache over nothing. if the tablet works perfectly and the only issue you have is sim cards not working then use it like that 4 people have already given you the best advice you need.

Custom ROM is an OS that has been tweaked that's the simplest definition I can give a novice. you don't need to bother about custom ROM if the phone can perform normal function

MTN acquired visaphone and put an end to cdma network in Nigeria. So I don't think visaphone landline would work. If I may ask why do u really need to put a sim card in this device, I hope ur not thinking of using it as a phone to make a receive phone calls because the device doesn't have a gsm radio for that. So even if u manage to unlock it and get a cdma working sim, it still won't make or receive phone calls. I don't think it's worth the stress. Use ur phone's hot spot or get a mifi and use with the device.

LG vk810 LTE (also called LG gpad 8.3 LTE) is a Verizon exclusive device and Verizon uses CDMA not GSM. Im sure u have Verizon written at the top of the device. Send picture.

i was trying to make a research on how to reconise a CDMA phone on gooogle.....and i got to know that
If you see an MEID or an ESN category, your phone requires CDMA; if you see an IMEI category, your phone is GSM. If you see both (e.g., Verizon phones), your phone supports both CDMA and GSM, and may be either one.....i can only see an IMEI on my phone
