These are the old narrow gauge lines left by the British. The OP has never been out of his village, I presume.

Can the op see the difference between what he posted and the picture below?
Oga what are you saying is it not the same gauge I pass through everyday at Ikeja-Along

Just go n find out the tribe this OP is from and I can bet with my life that he is a lost jew from Biafra. This only happen when a tribe nurtured their infant with irredeemable hate n chronic bigotry from birth. Thank NL for promoting it as well.

More often than not, the media in Nigeria has been awash with news of the wonderful railways Buhari is constructing all over the nation. According to government apologists, there was never a time rails worked in Nigeria since our new democracy. So, Nigerians should appreciate Buhari for the "gigantic" strides he has made in rail construction!

So today, I took a trip down to Agege to get pictures of what the Nigerian government is doing there. I was amazed it has same standard as seen in Euroap and Americam. I got some pictures for your viewing pleasure. Indeed, development has come to stay in Nigeria.

Anybody that says Buhari is not trying is a liar from the pit of hell... JOE IGBOKWE 2019

The Op is right. I pass there almost daily.
I expected something of quality standards than the replica of ancient railway line they are constructing now.

I stay around this area. I can say I'm very dissapointed with the op. Work is going on everyday, the standard Guage lines is being constructed. At least i know that from agbado serious work is going on, and will continue down to iddo (oyingbo).
Some places have not been really touched for some reasons which I believe it's cos those are traffic prone areas,These are places like agege, mangoro(the part that leads to Guinness ikeja), underbridge (after jibowu). They where just repaired for the main time while they construct other places.
Once places like that are blocked for a day, it is problem for lagosians. The work in these places mentioned are slow because of the cars that passes this place. Excavation have been done to a point at underbridge after jibowu.
I'm not being political. I'm only here to clear the air. The standard Guage rail lines are being constructed and it's a masive project.

This is just a normal routine maintenance of the existing track and not the new standard gauge, it is done like every 3-4 years. Those who reside along that axis should be familiar with that
ExcelDeBaron:

Jokes on you. You never got the subte message I was passing across!!!

Did you not notice that the Chippings there are still fresh? Which means that no new railway was constructed!!! Especially in that Agege axis. Old ones are being brought back to life?

Why then say that new rails are being constructed around around Lagos as being peddled in the mainstream media undecided undecided lipsrsealed

Both of you are wrong. What you see is mostly likely repairs on the old lines, not the new standard gauge.

I stand to be corrected sir. Like i said, i just passed there a couple of minutes ago.

I practically live not far.

Those are newly constructed lines. I might snap mine for you if you like.
Thanks

OP for your attention
This is the old narrow gauge rail line. As you are aware government is now moving cargo through the narrow gauge to the north. So government retouch the rehabilitated it.

The new standard gauge is very different from this picture you posted. Before you start looking for proof. I have used the Abuja Kaduna train and I have seen the difference between narrow gauge and standard gauge

Don't mind him. So you use one location to judge the rest. If he lives at agege common sense will tell him they can't block, escavate and construct new rail lines at that location yet until the very last minute. It is a major traffic prone route.

That's why I stand to be corrected.
Mr. Common sense.

All I'm trying to say is that the actual pics posted by Op is a NEWLY CONSTRUCTED/REPAIRED rail line in Agege.
Therefore, if a standard one will be constructed later is what I don't know.

NB: even while constructing/repairing this, they had to demolish a Police Station close to the area and relocate it to agood location around there.

What is happening is the realignment of the old narrow gauge rail in order to accommodate the two track standard gauge rail line, same has been done at Iju and Agbado.

Just take a stroll backwards to fagba downwards. You will see the work is coming towards agege where you live. At least you won't join op who's motive was just to make jest of the project.

At the same time there is work going on at agbado. I don't know what they are constructing but my guess is a railway station. I took this pix from the abandoned amosun ( silly politician) bridge.
