That is how they club those days. It still happen now. The old people's club. They wear same native attire.

Post-independence there was a certain optimism, hope, pan-Africanism and "can do" spirit across Africa.

Maybe the euphoria concealed the fact that our countries in African were set up in a fragile way. That we needed to keep our eyes on the ball and do real hard work to progress.

I think at the end hope could not make up for the hard work, dedication and vision that were needed to succeed.
