So 2020 Olympics is sure.

Imagine if the Ogwumike sisters and Arike Ogunbowale could play for Nigeria. But our federation will not allow us be great. Smh
I mean, they chose USA over Nigeria, who could blame them for that? We could still lure Arike though. But this Nigeria team is legit. The strongest ever. Virtually all of them play in Europe.

Their coach is American though, so he could do some recruiting in the WNBA.

By and large, the quality of the teams in the tournament was just horrible. Women's basketball in Africa still has a very long way to go. Bar Nigeria and Senegal, and Mali to a lesser extent, the rest were terrible. Basic things like holding strongly onto the ball was a problem. The ball readily slipped out of their grips when dribbling or catching a pass or rebounding. And shot selections were awful. Let's not even talk about the actual shot taking. Even open layups were readily missed. Still a long way to go.

Lmaoooo if you had a kid would you advice them to play for Nigeria? I see most of these guys as humanitarians because it's only football that provides some compensation for your services. I wouldn't advice Arike to come and play here, even in the WNBA most of those babes are underpaid talk less of Nigeria

Guys,some questions;

1)what makes Victor oladipo a good player?

2)does Victor oladipo deserve a max-contract?

3)is Vic oladipo a better player than Ben Simmons?

4)is oldipo one of the best 10 guards in the league?

I need fast answers please

Not yet. D’Tigress have to play in the African Olympic prequalifying tournament, holding between Nov 14-17.

They are in group A alongside, Mozambique and Democratic Republic of Congo. Group B comprises Senegal, Mali, and Angola.
The group winners and runners up advance to the semifinals. Then the semifinal winners will further advance to any of the four World Olympic Qualifying Tournaments (WOQTs).

Each WOQT will consist of four teams, making a totanof 16 teams. The top 3 teams in each WOQT finally qualifies for the Olympics.
So, D’Tigress are potentially 6 games away from a 2nd appearance at the Olympics.

Yeah, I know it’s a tortuous qualifying process. Whoever designed this qualifying process isn’t a nice person.

It all depends on whether the NBBF can secure a decent commercial sponsorship to the tune of $900,000/yr or more.
If they can pull it off, and guarantee a bonus of, say, $400/day in camp allowance and $5,000 per game, the likes of Arike and other WNBA or college players could be tempted to play for Nigeria.

Anyways, my dream D’Tigress starting five would be: Ezinne Kalu, Evelyn Akhator, Arike, Ibekwe, and Adaora Elonu.

Unless Otedola, Dangote or any of these other mazajes step into the picture I don't see any private establishment pumping that amount into the female team alone.

With the number of girls we have playing in US colleges we should be top 3-5 in the World behind only US and maybe Australia. Even my WCW Liz Cambage I heard her dad is Nigerian

You don't mean it? shocked See better talent that would have helped Naija in the past!
Anyway, I hope Felicia Aiyeotan of Virginia Tech won't turn down an invite to D'Tigress. She was born and lived in Nigeria till she was in her late teens. She stands at a massive 6"9".

He's a pretty good defender, he can create his own shots and score buckets on offense

Lol of course he does. There are worse players on max deals

I've never bought into the Ben Simmons hype. I still think he's borderline useless in the half court so I'd probably take Oladipo over him. Triple doubles don't excite me

At his position probably yes. If you include point guards maybe not

Lol fear Naija men oh! our work na to Coupe Decale these foreign babes once we reach that side.

Would be easier to get Aiyeotan since she's a college prospect and would be slightly more tolerant of the administrative incompetence since she stayed here till a latter age

Oladipo plays Elite D, can create for himself and others and last but definitely not the list can hit clutch shots.

He is more like a near max player, but for the pacers they might have to pay the full max since they are not really a choice destinations for FA.

Right now especially in playoff situations oladipo gets off the board first if I am picking players. But if I'm betting on upside then Ben is definitely the choice.

Top 10 2 guards yes. But not top 10 guards

Lmaoooo this guy actually tried to recruit Kawhi and KD. I swear nobody from this era deserves to be in the GOAT conversation, if not for anything else but just the sheer lack of competitive mindset

I will be waiting for a response(s) from his camp on this thread before I pen my own post. Can you imagine if it was KD that divulged this information? they would have called him all the names under the sun. Well, I am happy the post rightly accorded KD as the best player on the planet after LeBum was swept.

Lmaoooo I don't care for anyone's response to be frank. Just highlighting the desperation of LeNomad to catch up with the GOAT because he knows deep down he needs to match his ring count no matter what he says. How much help does one player possibly need

That's the standard M.O. If you believe you're the best why are you recruiting the two best players in the game to your team. The actual GOAT would never

Honestly, i don't know why this is still an argument, Lebron never had a resume befitting a GOAT status in the first place. In fact he will be bumped down the perking order if they cannot win the championship this season cos he definitely has the squad to run over everyone. I cannot even rank him above Olajuwon if the lakers don't win the championship this season.

Don't sleep on Promise Amukamara. You could see that coach Otis trusted her to be the primary ball handler in the finals, even when Ezinne was on the court. She made some important 3s to settle the nerves too. I'd put her in there. Akhator is more a forward than a guard. Ibekwe would drop to the bench.

Amukamara na one serious point guard abeg, she made one particular drive through traffic towards the basket in the 3rd quarter and still made it. The lady has got confidence in her play. It's not going to be easy to drop Ibekwe, she is quite good from the midrange and she is kind of multifaceted skill-wise, her height is a useful gift too, although she is sometimes a defensive liability.

The truth is all of these girls actually did college in the US, but just a few of them got drafted to the WNBA. Nyingifa played for UCLA, Elonu played for Texas and won the NCAA, she currently plays for Atlanta dream. Akhator played for Kentucky and was drafted 3rd by Dallas Wings in 2017, Ibekwe played for Arizona and was drafted by Seattle Storm, Jasmine played for Syracuse, Promise played for Arizona state, Macaulay played for Temple in Philadelphia, Edeferioka played for Georgia Tech, Aisha Mohammed played for Virginia, Ezinne played for Savannah State, Sarah Ogoke played for Southern Polytechnic Georgia, Imovbioh played for South Carolina.

That's true of Ibekwe and Promise. By and large, we have a good team. Even when Ibekwe and Elonu fouled out in the final, we still had Nyingifa and Akhator to steady the ship.

We can blame the NBBF or sports ministry all we want, but the truth is an elephant beget an elephant, if our foremost leaders don't appreciate sports, the subsidiary departments under their control wouldn't. at best we can only get the second-tier players. The best of them will always choose the US. I don't mean to belittle the contribution of men and women that chose to play for Nigeria, but most of the time they usually chose to play for Nigeria when they have little to no chance of getting a call to play for the US. And it looks like we are happy to play second fiddle, if that's not the case then waiting for Nigerians in the diaspora(we love and appreciate them though) is definitely not an effective way to dominate the world. We got to create a system to help nurture local talent. Seriously, I am happy we have been dominating basketball recently, but a closer look reveals that most of these players were groomed in the US, a testament to our failed systems here at home.
