I like that the coach brought in some fresh blood as it can be argued the squad was getting rather stale.

The issue is these new guys he is bringing on board some like steady has mentioned are and were not exactly lighting it up for their teams. With the NBA ones bar Okojie on the extreme end of the bench.

There's enough to get past that group anyway. Not advancing past would be failure IMO

Are you from the future?
steady986:

Wait, a new power ranking is out?

I have no idea why they were dropped. And all those guys have been reliable guys for the team sins 2025 when they won the Afrobasket. I mean, what's the point bringing Josh Okojie and Chimezie Metu? Those guys are not that good. You drop your two best 3 point shooters for them. I don't get.

Good and happy to see basketball lovers here, believe me doesn't add up and make any sense but it is what it is.

Life just keeps getting hard for DeMarcus.
Torn ACL
Got married to his long time friend,
Baby mama refused to allow his son attend his wedding,
He threatened to shoot her,
Now an arrest warrant has been issued on domestic violence charge.

"Leave these Hoes", they'll never listen.

Some babymama are the devil, I tell you.

But talking of shooting someone in America is extreme o. Especially for an Athlete.

The guy just keeps losing and can't catch a break.

The new guys boosted our rankings. I don't think the other home guys would get past that group. I appreciate the fact that they've qualified us for the world cup, but the more exposed players should carry on from here. The US team too, I am sure 90% of the team didn't play any of the qualifying series, but when it's time for business, you bring the more exposed players. Same thing happens in soccer too. The series of warm up games we won, I don't think the team that qualified for the world cup would win any of those games. The world cup is an entire different atmosphere and crazy. Some of the guys from the NBA might not be regulars for their teams, but believe me they would be regular starters for any Euro or Chinese league teams. My opinion tho

I'm particular about Josh Okojie and Chimezie Metu. Apart from the fact that those guys are just coming off a rookie season, they didn't have a particularly stellar season. Even Metu played most of his games in the G-League. Now, you can't say that one year in the G-League is enough to overthrow someone like Michael Efevbera who apart from playing several years in the G-League, has also played several years in Europe. Don't be deceived by this NBA thing, not everybody will survive in the NBA. A couple of the player in this squad have played at least one year in the NBA, but where did they end up?

Boogie is also to blame here for not keeping his temper in check. You're asking for trouble the minute you start launching death threats and also jeopardizing your future in the league with this kind of behavior

I don't know, maybe I am reading too much into his mannerism/ posture in the picture, Cousins does not look happy but I hope I am wrong. In fact, they both look unhappy and distant from each other. I hope he is not trying to suppress the emotions associated with his injury or a personal problem by getting married.

Hopefully, this brings some reprieve for him and I am wrong.

Did you see Dwight's IG live reaction to Shaq's trolling. He look subdued and skinny almost like a beaten dog. These athletes really go through a lot.

Lol, we dey the field is all I can say.

Baba, I no dey do social media, not my thing, except you count NL as one. So no, I have not seen it but last month, I watched his interview with Kristine Leahy on Fair Game and I noticed he was leaner and humble.

I also read he was practically begging the Lakers for an opportunity to play. He promised not to disrupt the locker room and his focus is to provide rim protection and defense and he is not interested in offense. He did all of this in the presence of Anthony Davis during the meeting.

I will check to see if someone posted the IG video on YouTube.

Exactly...if you know you cant catch a break, maybe chill on being extra for a while. At least until the clouds pass you by. You are getting married, and you allow baby mama to ruin it. Are you marrying ur son? Will you die if your son doesn't attend? Will your son die? Smh....

Re: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 10:33am On Aug 31, 2019
After the first half, Russia lead Nigeria 40-35. Nigeria started well with 4 unreplied points, but Russia went on a 10-0 run to take control of the game. Russia went over 50% from beyond the 3-point line. Back to the game.
Re: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 10:51am On Aug 31, 2019
Iroegbu with a slick lay up. Lead is cut to 1 point. Timeout Russia

Man! Tough loss for Nigeria. After going 8 points clear in the 4th, we just took our foot off the gas. Silly turnovers, bad look shots. Better luck next game.
Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 12:16pm On Aug 31, 2019
What was that last 3:59 madness?? You would not see a worse execution of late game basketball.

This was the win we had to have. Realistically I don't see us beating Argentina

Imagine saying you will kill someone because she said her son can't attend your wedding.

I am sure this is not the first time the lady showed that kind of behavior and he should have anticipated better. I know it's not easy but for someone that is a celeb, CAUTION.

I hope he figures it out tho. He needs a break. If I was him Sha, I will take a year off basketball. Clear my head, then come back next year.

His statement coming to publicly thank Kobe and admit he was right really showed he has swallowed humble pie and learned humility.

Still while I hope he puts on decent numbers and becomes a solid contributor the rest of his career I still don't hope the Lakers win anything this coming season or the one after that

Should teams be afraid of Australia?

Patty Mills
Dellavedova
Joe Ingles
Baynes
Bogut

And Delly has worked on his shot. He was 9/13 this morning, 6/10 from three.

They are really not fantastic, Serbia, Spain, Lithuania or Greece will deal with them before even the US.

Be careful of finality in your words.

What if she has a career ending injury before then or she dies or the hype gets to her head and she starts doing drugs??

Anything can happen in less than 5 yrs bro
