In three weeks to a month they’ll find their way back to South Africa. When hunger and frustration wire them here they’ll happily run back to their cleaning and security jobs.

You made a good point but don't distort history. Pa Ojukwu volunteered his Rose Royce. His other vehicles are Agulefo playing Lagos to the East and back.

nick50:
The first time queen Elizabeth visited Nigeria chief sir Louis odumegwu ojukwu (an igbo man from anambra)provided the entire convoy that was used to take the queen around the country ..fast track to d year 2017 there was fuel scarcity in Nigeria then chief Patrick ifeanyi ubah(an Igbo man from anambra) donated more than 250 trucks of fuel to the country, then in 2019 there is a xenophobic attack by south Africans and another Igbo man( precisely from anambra )donated his aircraft for free evacuation of Nigerians from south Africa safely back to Nigeria.. ..where are those that has been producing president since independence?.. Where is dangote ,otedola, the dantata families?.. Where are those afonja pastors that have private jets.. I have said it n will repeat it again.. If we want Nigeria to be good again then let's allow Igbo's rule .. They are a rare gift to humanity

Edo State actually gave returning indigenes some money to settle down, start a business or rent a place for a couple of months until they could stand on their own.

But even good gesture, no matter the amount can be eroded by inflation years into the future.

In those days, you could rent a room in Lagos proper for about five pounds. Further up to Surulere, two pounds ten and around Mushin for a couple of pounds and less.

The good gesture of extending twenty pounds only to Igbo that some saw as bribes for votes; later backfired years after as peanuts or nothing. If money is extended to those Nigerians returning from South Africa, the givers must learn from history.

No place like home. Where ever you may be,no matter how long you think you have stayed there, when shit hits the fan, you will first be regarded as a Nigerian which is why first world countries will regard you as their citizens when you make an achievement but when its the opposite they will dig out the descent of your great grand parents both on your mother and your father's side.

Some would still go back. Some see it as opportunity to visit home free of charge.

FAMILY WICKEDNESS..
Mr and Mrs Joseph's wedding was fantastic, it came out so nicely and many of the attendees confirmed this rumor to be true. "DJ, food, live music and overall atmosphere was heaven like" .
But we received the shock of the century barely two days after the wedding.... Mrs Joe was paralyzed!!!!
My name is Abigail okonkwo and Mrs Joe is my elder sister, on the day of the wedding, her best friend Judith who also happen to be our cousin came into the dressing room with a very expensive perfume, my sister was so happy that she decided to use it on that day. After the wedding and thanksgiving Mrs Joe started complaining of body weakness but we all felt it was because of the ceremony, so we asked here to rest. (Fast forward).
2days later, she was paralyzed!!! Everyone in the family was scared especially her husband( he hasn't even gotten the time to enjoy his wife before everything turned upside down). We got different advice, from one hospital to the other, from on shrine to the other(babalawo). Life became sad within the twinkle of an eye and all I kept wondering was how can a 28 year old girl suddenly develop stroke?.
We went everywhere, we did everything but we somehow forgot God.... So after about 2months, my course mate Evelyn came to visit. Of course. I told her everything, she then invited me to her church, I went there several times and later took my family. After much praying and fasting and believing God for a turn around she started getting better.
Weeks after she recovered, Judith ran mad after confessing. I was amazed because Mrs Joe was not the only one who used the perfume, I did too. So why wasn't I affected? But the answer is simple, it was specifically for Mrs Joe.
PEOPLE CAN BE VERY WICKED. If you must receive gifts on your wedding, then allow GIFTME.GIFT handle all your gifting logistics, that way, you don't personally take your gift.
