Oga make we no lie to ourselves this amount no fit work. In 2016 wey I do my wedding I tot 600k fit work, but o boy e no work at all. There are some hidden cost wey you no go ever think about when making your budget, dem be small small things o but na them dey chop money pass. Even the warri you dey talk so the hall wey we use do our wedding was 150k. At the end both traditional and the white, we spent more than 2m, even as we try to manage reach. Maybe except you are doing both wedding same day and also in empty space.

A friend used great friendship hall in okere ugborikoko road( 25k).
There a hall opposite Robinson plaza in one of those street off emebiren, hall na 25k
Guy, as at 2014, my niece run hers with 700k circa. Dont know about now wey bubu dey seat and bag of rice na 20k plus.
We minimise so much. The groom suit was 15k. (Bespoke. Na my tailor sew am) The guy man no even buy new shoe. Him use d one him get before. I can't say so much here.

I get you bro, my church (Catholic) in Warri gives hall for parishioners at the rate of 50k while 30k for open field, if you are not a member of the church, you pay 80k.

A tailor did a suit for my guy who got married last year October for 18k, men the suit bam die, life na just sense, no go do pass yourself. With 700k, an average guy can do a wedding, you don't need to spend millions, no go they out fear for people mind.

I don't know about those locations in Abuja environs but Apapa is a no no. The road network there is horrible! Although, Ajah is quite expensive for an average Nigerian who got wedded but it's better than Apapa or Okokomiako, which is the worst of the worst. Na marriage no be death penalty. Going through this thread, to be a man is not a day's job.

Na normal thing, they will hike the prices but if you go through someone who has uded or insider you will get good prices.
You can also check churches around those areas with halls, preferably Catholic, Anglican etc

How? Can you explain better? Because, I didn't state it anywhere that I prefer an expensive event hall. Who doesn't want to get something at a cheaper rate? I am just saying, it's just not available.
As in, we went looking round for cheaper hall, we couldn't even get.
If you mean, we could have gone looking for one outside Ajah, the wedding venue (church) was at Ikoyi and you don't want people driving all day from church to reception hall considering Lagos traffic.

There is one in chisco area, I can't remember the name. Someone rented it for 250k or so for a day but used it for only 5 hours.
Another good idea is too get an hotel and book all the rooms, with that they will give you all the floor or open field free or at least very cheap and you can always get your money back from those visiting family and friends you booked rooms for... let's say you book a full hotel for a day for like 500 or so and they gave you their floor for free or 100k... by the time those people you booked a room for pay you back or at least you recuperate like 400k back, you will realize what you pay for hall is very cheap and you will also enjoy benefit of closeness, since some of your guests are lodging there

Please before renting the house make sure you look at the Calibre of people living in the house and do not go for more than a room self contain or a room and a parlour self contain for start depend on what you have. Let your wife know that her taste should not be ajebo type for now because you need to start planning ahead of your family. And finally the moment you are married,you should start planning when and how you will have your own house somewhere even if you will not be living there for now. If you rent a house with more than a room remember family members will be coming to stay with you wilhich is not advisable for start. hunnnnnnnn well God will help you.
