FAQs work like magic. It's the only relevant thing you mentioned. Schema markup isn't really an all out thing. It only comes into play when you are being specific and want certain rich features alongside your content on SERP.

As much as Yoast seems babyish, it is still relevant and much more supportive than AIOSEOP even though I prefer the latter. AIOSEOP isn't for everybody.

If you know how to do content analysis, have a strong budget for link building and social signals, use schema and AMP you will give them a run for their money.

If even you don't beat them, you will compete favorably.

First off, Panda and Penguin are not algorithms but algorithm updates. Perhaps you had no idea that with the many quality contents on legit and other huge sites, they got sized recently. The essence of the algo updates are to thin out lesser quality contents and reward rich contents. This does not imply you must put algo updates at the back of your mind if you're writing. Plus, no matter how rich your content might be, if you are content farmer, your blog will be duly slapped with a penalty.

Mr. Atiku, I never said this. Note I mention they only make sense on specific content types to enhance results on SERP.

One of my sites is littered with results on Google's FAQ and I don't markup using schema. I won't share my trade secrets. As a matter of fact, FAQ accounts for my second traffic type on SERP after featured snippets.

It is only normal to believe we know. But a couple of the techniques you think you know are not necessarily trendy. The essence of algo updates are to reward new sites with good contents rather than allow old sites with outdated, long aged contents sit on Google's first page.
