Yes it can but i will advise u to start with javascript if u want to go into web development, python is use for machine learning, AI, data analysis, internet of things etc
Php is use for backend web development,
C, c++ , c# for embedded system, java for android and system application, swift for ios, there are lots more.

You're getting it wrong. Programming is best learnt when you've got a purpose for it. Ask yourself why you want to learn programming. Do you want to make an app or a webpage or a program for a machine? You've got to be specific with why you're learning programming because different languages have their different purposes. For App, I suggest Java, Kotlin, JavaScript (using react native), etc. For webpage, I'd suggest JavaScript, CSS, HTML, etc or PHP.

To answer your question, HTML is the easiest to learn followed by CSS (my personal opinion though). I still stand that you know why/what you want to program.

(Some will say HTML CSS aren't languages though)

HTML is not a programming language? But can it be used to create website like facebook or Nairaland

Learn python for data science, u dont need to enroll any course, videos full youtube, just be ready to burn data and spend hours in front of ur pc. At a point people go think say u dey do yahoo sef.

Starting is not the issue , consistency is key .. Make sure you surround ur self with people of same passion and dont expect quick result .. Programming is not for the faint hearted

Of course you can use python for backend but in nigeria most bad developer use php, including me. Imagine u had some ish using python as backend who will u run to for help?
Secondly javascript is the main language of the web. If you want to go into web development learn javascript first after html n css though.

U must have the below first.

1.. Ability to stay on the computer for long.
2.. convenient environment
3.. constant power
Then learn the basics of computer science (byte,bit,cpu,asci,utf,), machine code,binary,hexa,decimal etc.You want to know the basics of assembly and basic....When done....read mathematics (integer,even nos,odd nos,prime nos, arithmetic operators, assignment operators etc....then decide on anything u want to do in programming and pick the appropriate Lang..... smaller langs to learn first are Qbasic, free pascal etc...don't rush,be good in one of them first before getting to big langs like python or jave

Very Cool, 2&3(blame Govtment). But People Who Don't Posses Below Qualities(afta 3 List) But Still Design Programs Are Known As CODERS. So Don't Worry Much If U Aren't In Any Of These Listed Above.....

The truth is that you don't need to leave the comfort of your sofa to learn this.
Programming is actually a skill so what is really needed is developing it.
We all have different learning capabilities... some will need mentor(s) to keep putting them through for the mean time.

Like me I have never gone through any web dev class but am catching up... so it all depends on your drive.

Yeah. Jquery is not complex like JavaScript. It is just another way of doing what JavaScript is capable of
