Start by scanning your vehicle if it has check engine light.

But please did you fill up the tank before doing the 100km/XL test? because you need to fill up first before running that test.

If it is a very minute quantity, a fraction would end up as carbon on the Piston and plugs while other fractions would escape as black smoke through the exhaust.

If it is plenty, it would flood the Engine causing drivability issues. solution is to drop the fuel tank and remove the fuel also cleaning the fuel pump and filter.

Thanks for your response @nurey. I do appreciate. I think it's best to drop the fuel tank and drain out everything as you said. Graciàs!

Please, can mitsubishi space wagon gdi engine work with the intank fuel pump only after disconnecting the secondary pump on top of the engine. My mechanic said this is possible but i believe there will be inefficiency in the running of the engine.

Bad idea.

Internal pump fuel pump pressure is inadequate for the nozzles

Okay, since the check engine isn't permanent on the dash I think you need to look at other areas.

1. Tune up, plugs, cleaning throttle body, changing Engine air filter, recommended oil weight if still possible.

2. tyres and Tyre pressure.

3. leaking exhaust even if it is a small leak.

4. driving habit and driving conditions (loading vehicle with human cargo or load, excessive speed, heavy traffic)

5. quality of fuel in Nigeria and the pump accuracy of the station you patronize.

I still think 9L for just 30km is excessive maybe you should rerun the test again

Good day sir, I'm planning on getting my first ride, so I'm just a rookie.
Please, what major advantages do the toks have over the nigerian used? or are they equally okay?

Tokunbo are cars imported from overseas

1. oyinbo roads are good and well maintained

2. oyinbo has a working system for traffic and vehicle maintenance so a greater % of imported cars are always in good condition.

3 Mechanic and driver's also go through certification before qualification so your mechanic in overseas will never cut corners in car repairs and other drivers and smaller vehicles would never frustrate you or destroy your car without been held liable for the repairs.

4 cost of production in oyinbo land is cheap so car needs are readily available and affordable reason why tokunbo still come with the recommended oil, coolant and original parts.

5. the oyinbo weather isn't harsh on car parts like paint, undercarriage etc.

naija used is opposite cause even if you intend to keep your car in top shape either prices of replacement parts, unavailability of replacement part, no professional technician etc would make it an Herculian task

don't just use any brandnew plugs use the recommended OEM plug.

for the oil, if you have been using 20w50 for years, just stick to it

Are your Tyre and rims the stock required ones

give your Engine tune-up.

for the exhaust leak, start the car at cold start and put your hands to block the exhaust pipe, if no force pushes your hand away, you have a leak also from start up, you will hear a boom sound which is more pronounced when accelerating.

No. It probably bent valves and that's all it needs. It's labor intensive but should be cheaper than buying a new engine. Take it for a second opinion if possible.

So I found a leak on my v6 HL (around the front joints) and I got it fixed, to my surprise my car now seem to consume more fuel. I do over 200 miles with 50litres before, now am doing less than 180 miles. My mass air flow rate which used to settle at 3g/s on idle is now at over 4g/s. My STFT and LTFT are also throwing strange figures

Still observing to see if all these add up as it does not seem to make sense for now.

Good day, Mr. Guru, Pls I need your advice. I drive a Toyota sienna 2000 model, so I needed to change the rear tyres. I wanted lite truck because of it sturdiness, the tyre is Rim 15 205/70. However the seller advised that I charge to Rim 17 due to the scarcity and price of Rim15. Rim17 is cheaper compared Rim 15 (used tyres), that he will give me 4 Rim17 {Alloy Rim) with tyre and take my own but I will add some money to it (45k). But I am sceptic about the workability of the exchange with regards to the effect of such changes on the car, the fenders and fuel consumption.

Your professional advice is kindly needed.

Thank you

Some degree of sanity is still available it the vehicle operating systems.
less likely for it to be abused.
