Tammy Abraham Says England Not Nigeria Has Always Been His Dream Team by Factgist: 7:19am On Oct 09, 2019
Chelsea star Tammy Abraham has made his intentions clear that his passionate dream has always been to represent England and not Nigeria.

The 22-year-old striker of Nigerian origins was recently called up by England for the Euro 2020 qualifiers in the Czech Republic and Bulgaria taking place this month.

Tammy Abraham who was born in the UK to Nigerian parents is actually eligible to represent the senior national team of Nigeria despite representing England at verious levels which include Under 18, Under 19 and Under 21 levels.

However with his recent call-up to the England senior team, the young striker will no longer be able switch his allegiance to Nigeria if he plays for England in their upcoming matches.

Abraham has now come out to clear the air that his first choice option has always been to represent England and not Nigeria.

In a new interview on Mail Online Sport, he revealed saying,

'For me, it's always nice to be wanted by two nations. Clearly, it means you're doing something well.

' At the back of my head, I've always wanted to play for England. I was born and grown in England.'

My dream was always to play for England. It doesn't effect the fact Nigeria still wanted me, and it's a big nation. I love both nations.

My head was just screwed on with England.'I'm here and I'm ready to stay. I want to do the best I can.

That means playing well, for club and country.'Just hopefully I can get many years experience under my belt for England.'

Tammy Abraham was called alongside his Chelsea teammate Fikayo Tomori, who though born in Canada has Nigerian roots.

It makes sense, he was developed in England, Bred in England and Plays in England, there's no sensible reason for him to play here. We did nothing for him.

Let's stop chasing Players with dual Nationality and start building and developing our local boys.
Nigeria is among the top 15 biggest followers of European football yet it's almost impossible to find a standard football club or stadium here .

Don't mind our people, when the guy was struggling to find form and stability, we didn't even call him to play in a friendly or any youth match.
Now that he has scored 8 goals in 8 games, we are running after him like flies .

Rubbish, I never expected him to choose Nigeria.

Modify: NFF actually called him ! But his decision is completely logical.

Another Gabriel Agbolahor in the making. Gbolahor was way better than Tammy yet he was used and dumped, Dele Ali is already done representing England, Late Ugo Ehiogu got the same treatment. John Fashanu still regret till date for dumping Nigeria. Ameobi changed his decision when it was too late. And host of others. The English team has never retained any player for longer period except when they are extremely good like the likes of Beckham, Lampard, Scholes, Shearer, Rooney, Lineker, neville, etc. Tammy and Fikayo will be used and dumped as usual.

Goodluck, enjoy ur short term career at the International level.

Las las England will not win World Cup and Nigeria will not win too.

Nothing spoil except one day they will set him up and go after his money. He will then run down to Naija like John Fashanu.

The only reason you are playing in England is because Rashford has dropped form. You seem like another Welbeck though

Good one boy. It's better for England to use an dump him. If he plays for Nigeria, the highest he will win is third place at the low quality African Nations cup.

Put yourelf in his shoes first before you blame him.

Recall...

To play for Nigeria you must pay corruption fee.
If you get injured you'll be the one to bare the cost of your treatment.

This guy no be nNaija na Briton. Anyone in his shoes that chose Naija over Briton or any other developed country needs to join those FRSC has sent to Yaba Left for check up.
Nigeria needs to work on herself as a country first then other things will fall in place.
Apart from him having naija blood in him what really makes him naija
