Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike on Friday inspected ongoing projects, urging the contractors to ensure that they complete their work on schedule.

Accompanied by the Administrator of Greater Port Harcourt City Development Authority, Ambassador Desmond Akawor, Governor Wike inspected the ongoing construction of hostels at the newly established Real Madrid Academy.

Governor Wike also inspected road projects in the Phase Two of the New Government Reserved Area in Port Harcourt.

The Governor who defied the rains during the inspection, elicited commitment from the contractors that they will work within approved specifications.

It will be recalled that Governor Wike assured Rivers people that his second term projects delivery will surpass that of his first term.

As he drags out white man.... Don't know why I read that line with a frown.

Perhaps it would have read better if the op had said as he drags out contractor... Stating the contractor's race makes it appear as though he is beyond such treatment as a white man. If the contractor were black, I doubt the thread would have read as he drags out black man.

Smh.

Stuffs like this are the reason they look down on us.

You beat me to it. Our online space is full of Nigerians who broke academic records graduating with first class honours in engineering, project management, designs, architecture but it’s hard to see Nigerian construction or engineering companies handling these projects.

Where are the experts? Do we not have qualified and competent Nigerians to handle these projects??

But I live in ph, hence my question !

Ameachi did his own, Wike also doing his own, he has opened and constructed a couple of roads that I know, most especially, the Etche Chokocho road that Ameachi abandoned.
I remember how we used to suffer on that road when we're building the winners chapels school at egwin.

Though I feel Wike can do better, but to tell me that Wike has destroyed the beautiful Port Harcourt Ameachi left is an aspersion on his person. He's also trying !!!

Was thinking the same. Blacks, especially Africans, and inferiority complex. Is this dude not getting paid what he will most likely not earn in his nation of origin? In any case, why are some Nigerians so poorly educated to the extent they term everyone with straight or non-Afro hair as "white"? Arabs, Lebanese, Moroccan, Egyptian et al are not white and many of them would consider it an insult to be addressed as such.

Excellent question
How many Nigerian engineers can buy u properties abroad without govt. harassment?

How many foreign contractors have been indicted for corruption by a state govt. Or u think they don't run contract scams? The truth is that the black man esp. Nigerian ploitical class would not want indigenous companies or engineers to handle substantial projects.. They are scared of paying u billions, mainly bcoz they know they can't siphon money tru ur account without leaving traces... Majorly becos they are scared of political opponents.
Poverty has been weaponised in Nigeria.. Politicians want the masses to be poorer while paying lip service to unemployment issues.
With many years of experience as a contractor, there's almost nothing these foreigners have that we can't do here.. Except of course their foreign accounts which d efcc and other units can't easily access unlike Nigeria companies... That there is the main lure for politicians.. A conduit to siphon money, Buy property abroad and easy live for their family.
