"80 - 90% of my income is outside of the Living Faith Church" - Bishop Oyedepo

Covenant university receives largest endowment ever exceeding 40 billion naira

IMF Choses Covenant University venue for 75th Anniversary

Leke Beecroft

Founder and Presiding Bishop of the Living Faith Church, an organization with one of the largest networks of about 11,000 branches in 65 countries has acquired a brand new helicopter. This is in continuation of his quest to ease movement while reaching large numbers of people in his evangelical work. This acquisition is especially unique as it is the first time he will buy an aircraft with his personal resources. Previous aircraft including the only one presently in the Church inventory, a Challenger 605 with registration N633WM (World Mission) which was acquired at a cost of $25 million were all acquired by the Church through Dominion Aviation Center.

Speaking at a gathering of pastors recently, Bishop Oyedepo announced that the aircraft which had arrived Nigeria could fly from Lagos to Maiduguri or from Lagos to Abuja and back to Lagos without a need to refuel . Church Gist investigation also reveal that the aircraft is still in a Lagos seaport undergoing clearance after which it will be brought to the Church’s hangar for assemblage. Church Gist also gathered that the helicopter could be of Italian origin and produced by the Leonardo Helicopters (formerly Agusta Westland). In particular it could be either the Trekker or GrandNew series as these have capacity for covering a long range before the need for refueling.

Dr David Oyedepo has spoken often about how he was inspired by the visit of white missionaries to his village of Omu-Aran in helicopters while he was a kid. He also mentioned as early as April 1982 that God had shown him wings in a vision and when he asked, it was revealed that his ministry was going to be flying around the world carrying the gospel of Jesus Christ. This led to the acquisition by the Church of the first aircraft in March 1996 and since then, the Church has been acquiring aircraft for missionary purposes. Also, as each aircraft gets old, it is quickly exchanged for a new one to ease cost, maintenance and servicing. A few years ago, precisely in 2011, the Bishop travelled to 6 African countries within 7 days and preached 11 different sermons. This is an example of his usual itinerary which could certainly not be achieved flying normal commercial flights.

During the recent meeting, the Bishop added that 80-90 per cent of his resources come from outside the Living Faith Church adding that recently, Covenant University (CU), an institution of the Church which is currently listed tops in Nigeria and one of the best in Africa received her largest endowment ever reported to be in the realm of hundreds of millions of dollars. While unconfirmed reports have it that the recent endowment is from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the IMF under its new Managing Director, Kristalina Georgieva has chosen CU as the Nigerian venue for the celebration of IMF’s 75th Anniversary in July 2020. IMF, United Nations and the World bank have also made commitments to begin to employ staff fresh from CU annually. IMF was in CU recently on a visit. The Bishop had declared in one of his sermons recently that very soon and before Jesus comes, Living Faith Church will be richer than the IMF and the World Bank. IMF is currently worth about $850 billion.

Lol!

Coming from a man who said that Job's riches wasn't secured because he didn't tithe. And yet God made Job the richest man in the east, but him that tithes and emphasizes tithing as the Pharisees did, had not been made the richest man in his own state, talk less of this part of the world?

Job 1:3 (KJV)

3 His substance also was seven thousand sheep, and three thousand camels, and five hundred yoke of oxen, and five hundred she asses, and a very great household; so that this man was the greatest of all the men of the east.

And mind you, Job's riches was not because he accumulated riches to himself as Oyedepo is currently doing, because Job was well known to be a distributor of riches:

Job 29:15-16 (KJV)

16 I was a father to the poor: and the cause which I knew not I searched out.

But despite that Job didn't accumulate riches to himself, he was yet the richest man in that part of the world to illustrate the distinctive extent to which God had blessed him, which made his example a strong case for helping the poor and needy to all the peoples of that part of the world.

So let Oyedepo keep buying as much private Jets as he wants, but as long all his riches combined pales in comparison with the likes of Dangote in this part of the world who don't tithe, it would hard for him to convince people in this part of the world that there is anything special about his riches and hence tithing, but that it's just because he is laying up treasures for himself on Earth as opposed to distributing it to the poor and needy as Jesus had taught us and his disciples had done.

Luke 12:33 (KJV)

33 Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.

So unless tithing clearly distinguishes him from those who didn't tithe as the Jobs of that world and the Dangotes of this world, but just make him to be just a poor man's version of them and merely competing with his fellow pastors, truth is the case he makes for tithing would remain very weak.

God bless.

Lol you just getting all up and emotional. Don't cry yet.
The scripture never said that those who don't tithe wouldn't attain wealth. Even scripture reports how wealthy a paganic Egypt was, how an horrible roman empire held power and influence. So Dangote having money isn't any eye opener.

However the concept of tithing law as stated by Malachi stated that the benefit of tithing was a "rebuke of the devourer". The devourer in biblically context often refer to the devil and his host of fallen angels. 'Devouring' as expressed by Malachi meant that what legitimately belongs to God's people could be destroyed by the devil without a God intervention if they refused to tithe.

Therefore Oyedepo made an inference that is potentially correct within the context of old testament. Job didn't tithe and God did not rebuke the devourer for his sake.

Lol! I'm really weeping at the extent of your delusion that my calling out the modern day pharisees for their covetousness and worship of mammon means that I'm being emotional because of their riches.

So tell me what's the difference from the likes of you who derided Jesus when He did same to the Pharisees of his day, ehn?

Luke 16:14 (KJV)

14 And the Pharisees also, who were covetous, heard all these things: and they derided him.

You have proven Jesus saying concerning the blind leaders of the blind true, for you to possibly believe the heresy of Oyedepo that Job's riches weren't secured because he didn't tithe.

Because tell me, what was the purpose of the hedge?

Does that not equate to God rebuking the devourer for Job's sake?

I mean it's as clear a heresy that even the blind should be able to see it, but it's a shame that you've decided that you must fall inside the pit with your blind leader.

I really weep for you. embarassed

The bible not me said
1) Tithing was for rebuking the devourer - established

2) Job a man of God was 'devoured' at a point in his life - established

3) There was no record of Job tithing like Abraham, Isaac or Moses - established

Therefore would you blame someone who interpreted that 1 and 3 resulted in number 2.

If Job tithed truly and God didn't rebuke the devourer for his sake then that makes the bible what? because that would render Malachi 3 as an invalid scripture even in the old testament.

Again Jesusjnr you are an hypocrite of the order of the Pharisee. You highlighted scripture where Jesus told people to sell all they have. Why don't you sell your own phone and give it as alms to the poor. It may sound simplistic but that's surely a good place to start. That phone in your hand can feed many hungry people today. The scripture says sell all you have.

Be talking as though you are in 20AD. You better wake up, this is the 21st century, you work hard less poverty wee kill you there and even Jesus would just looking at your foolishness. Be waiting for Oyedepo or the next Christian billionaire that would share his wealth with you. Keep waiting.

In this life you can choose to be a rich Abraham that went to heaven or a poor Lazarus that went to heaven. It's your choice.

86% of Norwegians are Christians living in sheer abundance. God would not send them to hell because their Christian brothers in Haiti are living in Abject poverty. Every man should do his own best to improve his own economic conditions and that of his Nation.

Please reject the gospel of poverty as propagated by Jesusjnr and his other brainwashed zombies. For even the bible says that "Money is a defense".

Take it or leave it Bishop David Oyedepo striked a covenant with God concerning prosperity which many of his rivals are yet to understand. Although I don't support his approach to tithing and is one thing I pray he should come to the proper understanding as a new covenant/testament Christian.

Nevertheless, his style of leadership, zeal for excellence beyond physical challenges, his recent approach to criticisms, art of boosting the confidence level of his listeners are worth emulating. In fact Bishop makes one become more serious, especially one that is after good success.

That the church does not display her charity deeds on social media is not an evidence that they don't give aids as at when necessary based on their ability. They do it without blowing Jericho's trumpet.

Help with the little you can and you will surely have more to help a larger population.

Prosperity in heart, spirit, soul and body is a must and all way round.

May poverty and ignorance not be our portion in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Thanks.

God bless.

Lol!

The more you speak, then more you sound as the pharisees who derided Jesus for calling out their covetous and mammon worshipping ways, for they also said Jesus had a demon, so I can understand your grouse.

The extent of your resolve to defend the blatant heresy made by your blind leader that Job's riches wasn't secured because he didn't tithe, proves that you're not who you really think you are, but just a blind being led by the blind.

For there's no place in the Bible where such a thing was ever stated or even insinuated, and this was what the devourer himself said to God:

Job 1:10 (KJV)

10 Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.

So if Satan the devourer even knew that he was rebuked by God for Job's sake, where could such an idea have emanated from, but from the pit of hell?

But it's well obvious that what happened to Job exceeds the tithing level that both you and your mentor are, otherwise you'd know that God just wanted to prove Satan wrong concerning His servant Job, and that it had absolutely nothing to do with Job not tithing, for Job's level pass tithing level.

That was why once God had achieved that, He doubled what Job had initially without Job having to tithe, and who born the devourer to touch what Job had after that?

But of course, when people are obsessed with tithing as the pharisees, they would say just about anything just to get people tithe as that heresy.

Again Jesusjnr you made a stupid mistake saying Dangote is richer than Living Faith Church. That's foolishness and you could only think that way because you have a mediocre way of reasoning.

When most of you think about churches you think about how they collect 10% tithe from church members.

The real asset of Church is her members. You forget that each of those member is a someone somewhere...

Let me open your head a little. 1990s Julius Berger wanted to build the largest church in the world for winners chapel. It gave a proposal of 3 billion naira. Oyedepo had other ideas, in a church event he called all engineers and architect to his office. They were too much, the church had to let some people go. Oyedepo harnessed his church members as human resources and the Faith Tabernacle was built for 100 million naira.

Amongst board of directors of etranzact, mtn, adron, gtbank, amongst parastals like customs, firs, lirs. Amongst govt officials you would see members of the church willing to offer their services with Jesus joy. And that is the definition of wealth. If anything happens to Dangote industries he is on his own. If anything happens to Winners there are millions of people who would rise to aid.

Aside that if the Church ever decides to openly to do business even Dangote would not compare in 5 years. Why? The Church in Nigeria has dangerous insider information. Has dangerous human resources to harness from, because it has people from all walks of life.

Jesus said gives alms to the poor, but instead of preaching same and doing that, this is what someone and his mentor who claim to be of God are saying.

No wonder the rich man ended up in hell.

I'm sure John the baptist, Elijah, Elijah, Moses, Peter, John etc. all chose to be poor, according to the preachers of the mammonic gospel.

No need to go to far away Norway, for this ought to be the standard of the church:

Acts 4:34-35 (KJV)

34 Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold,
35 And laid them down at the apostles' feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need.

So compare that with what your mentor is doing and if you don't still see the error in that, then you are clearly walking in error.
