One of the oldest persons in Canada Esmond Allcock celebrated his 108th birthday.

​Esmond Allcock says the secret to living 108 years is to select the proper spouse.
CBC News quotes him as saying, "I didn't behave myself for a few years there, but then I got a really good wife," when asked how he managed to live a long and happy life.

His wife Helen passed away seven years ago after 72 years of marriage. He lived alone in the family home for a short time and then decided to move into the Kerrobert Health Centre.

According to his son, Allcock has lived in Kerrobert, which is located about 200 kilometres southwest of Saskatoon, for 100 years and worked as a farmer before retiring in 1975.

He has 67 living relatives which includes 38 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

The story is agreeable. Just like my pastor said, if a man wants to live long, he must show love to his wife.

It is very obvious the man changed his ways after marriage.

but truth be told, you can never see any good wife today like in his time.

he must count himself lucky to have lived in the 40's.

If you mistakenly marry the one whose eyes are on your wealth, you sure won't live up to 40 years.
