I am just coming from the station now to bail 3 friends who got arrested by the police.

Someone accused them of stealing her phone, what brought them into the matter was that one of them went to the lady's shop to buy something and after that while they were coming back she started shouting see them, before u know it they were arrested and taken to the station, statement taken and put in a cell just like that.

Today the lady found the phone, it turns out it fell under her fridge, I went to the station to settle the matter and bring them out and the police says they will each pay #10k for bail.

Since the woman doesn't want to take the Blame she's lieing that the boys sent smbodi to come and throw the phone under her fridge and the police without no iota of doubt believe the story just to collect bail money.

How would people with no contact to the outside world that just had contact to call me, after they were handed a phone to call there people magically call somebody to put the phone under the fridge.

All these nonsense is happening in Nigeria and our govt sees nothing wrong with it, but they are rushing to pass hate speech bill.

The woman's phone is a Techno old phone of 9k,

Police said bail money for each of the boys is #15,000

I had to beg and beg I ended up bailing them all #31,000

The greed is too much, only seeing the cell nobody would want to stay there talkess of someone on an allegation, all of them are right now in a clinic, one of them was beaten because the Prisoners just because he was wearing a white boxers said he should go and lie down at the toilet part of the cell, toilet that they don't even flush, that they urinate on the ground, when he refused na general beating. He did it. Am not sure he is ever wearing tat boxers again.

Others had to go for general malaria treatment.

A Cell that's just 12 ft by 10ft had close to 18/people stocked inside. Just like that

Forget about Nigerian police,those security agencies can never change.

In this 2019 this kind of rubbish is still happening, in this 21st century u would just be arrested and put in a cell with hardened criminals for nothing and then asked to bail yourself with big money. If you don't u would be there till your people come up with the money even if its one week, the police won't even feed u, when u bring food you would taste it then pay the police before u can give your imprisoned brother food.

This shit has been going on for years govt no see that one but na to rush declare hate speech bill.

Nigerian police government needs to bring up a law stating that if any station or officer collects money from you the dpo or the officer would be sacked and spend one year in prison.

So many people are in the cell not for crime or anything, but because police don't fight crime they only arrest people.

I witnessed the worst police brutality in my life today. Police just parked on the road and started arresting Innocent victims. One of the guys said he did nothing and so they cannot arrest him, the kind of beating that guy received, for months that boy will not recover. They finally succeeded in handcuffing some boys and one of the boys jumped off the police vehicle and ran away with handcuff on his hands. You need to see the way these sons of perdition were chasing this guy. The started shooting and teargassing everywhere. Only God knows If they finally caught the guy. Innocent people are suffering terribly in this country.
This happened at ring-road in Benin, this evening.
