Yes. I met a lady in Abuja few months back at the NNPC HQ during the recruitment process, she recently got a Scholarship to study MSc in Chemistry at Grenoble in France.

She was among the 3 or 4 people picked from Lagos. She finished with a first class in Chemistry from Lasu and was the second overall best in Waec during her set.

It's fair and square. Her parents are just petty traders. A lovely girl she is, wish to meet her sometime in the future.

If you meet the requirements, go ahead and apply.

IMPORTANT NOTES ON THE 2020 PTDF OVERSEAS SCHOLARSHIP IN GERMANY, FRANCE, CHINA AND MALAYSIA

1. You must register with NIN to be eligible to apply

2. Ensure you are eligible for the approved courses and follow the guidelines

3. Deadline of application is six weeks from today. Today is Dec 4, 2019.

4. Candidates with minimum of 2.2 in a related discipline can apply for MSc

5. Candidates with minimum of 2.2 in their BSc and Merit i.e PhD grade in their MSc can apply for PhD.

6. Applicants interested in German Institutions should choose Abuja as their preferred interview location

7. Germany prospective applicants will also need to apply with DAAD

8. Applicants who are beneficiaries of any other scholarship need not to apply

9. Candidates may select up to 3 different courses (1st, 2nd and 3rd choice) in any University within the 4 countries.

10. Applicants who are in possession of a higher degree cannot apply for the same type of degree;

11. Candidates who successfully scale through thus first round will be asked for their transcripts. Ensure you have your transcripts readily available as you may be asked anytime by the schools.

Rubbish. Yet another scheme for nepotism, favoritism, quota-ism, and corruption. Of course there's no room for merit. No room for the best and brightest.

Minimum of 2.1 "or 2.2 with relevant industry experience" . Meaning what? It's incredible how we craft defective laws and rules with loopholes for nonsense.

Nigeria isn't ready to develop. It didn't start today. It wouldn't end tomorrow. Let the beneficiaries and their 'oga nla' benefactors enjoy. Jokers.

Am a beneficiary, the fact that you couldn't beat up the competition to be selected doesn't mean it's all plain black. As far as I know, PTDF is one of the stand-alone patriotic working schemes in Nigeria that am proud of.....100% on merit

I won that of UG
(LSS), but as far as I know, competing with folks with 2.1 and first-class is a mountain hard to climb but not impossible. your experience plus certification and extraordinary SOP will do wanders though....hope that helps

All this money Nigerian government is paying in scholarship! Are these recipients required to come back home and work for the government for at least 5yrs after completion? Otherwise we are throwing money away in a basket. We have been paying for scholarships for so many years with no impact on our country. Maybe we need to start focusing on scholarships within Nigeria and, improving our educational system.
