A lot of people will come back from their travel to start their life from square one, and very few will continue from where they've stopped.

I want to use this opportunity to inform my fellow nairalanders how to reduce expenses on food budget. Try these 5 alternative methods to reduce food expenses this new year.

1. Try to self cook your meal: self cooking will enable you to save a lot of money, that's only if you have time to do so.

A lot of people are too busy that they cannot even have time to boil water for ordinary tea talk less of to cook their own for. But just like the saying goes, "you can always create time for anything".

If you think it, ink it: Try writing a market list of things you want to buy down before you step out to do your market shopping. One reason is to avoid overspending when you get to the market. Writing down your list also helps you to buy according to financial Balance.

Eat outside only when necessary: there are times when you don't have the time at all to cook by yourself. So the best you can do is to eat outside during your busy periods and don't do it as a habits.

Buy in bulk: warning (this terms only apply if you are extremely busy daily). You can negotiate for bulk purchase of food from a restaurant you chose to be eating everyday. Ask them to give you discount because you are going to be eating everyday.

You can negotiate to be buying 3 square meals daily at the price of 2 plates. I'm sure they will accept the teems, since I am into restaurant business I can equally go for the deal.

Out source your cooking
: As a contractor, I have got a lot of demand to supply verities of soup/ foods to a lot of homes, working sites, schools, churches, busy individuals, organizations, events centres corporate organisations, including banks etc. With the least amount you can have a pot of soup that you can scoop up to 7 to 10 times.

All you have to do is to preserve your soups/foods, until it finishes.

This is my happy new year advice to all nairalanders.

If you have any other suggestion on how to reduce cost of food, I will welcome it here.

Happy New Year!!!
