As an undergraduate in UNILORIN in the early 90s, I used to wonder if Ilorin could ever be delivered from the clutches of the Sarakis. As a matter of fact, Dr Olusola Saraki saw the entire Ilorin as his stooge; and dished out whatever he liked to them. You would see the so-called Arugbos (the old people) and even some young ones always come for food at Saraki's house from far and near. They never knew they were been given peanuts from their joint patrimony. It was very strange to me. They literally converted the state's resources to theirs!
Whatever the governor is doing now is long-overdue!
Ilorin's case is like that of slaves who love their chains! Those protesting are ignoramuses who have been inadvertently impoverished by the same Sarakis by hijacking their patrimony.
Let the governor continue the good work. The unborn generations of those ignorant old women protesting today would appreciate the governor tomorrow.
