Anyway, as I was saying, the new year, apparently is sounding off a robust and/or uncompromising message(s) to whom and/or those applicable, by deliberately and consciously repeating the number twenty twice.

I know there's the negative and positive sides of the number 20, but I strongly believe that because of the 20 repetition being done, in this case, twice, then this year is really all about the positives, and so its identifying with those, more so than with the negatives.

For the sake of twenty, God will not destroy (i.e. Genesis 18:31, lol) Happy rewarding 2020, CaveAdullam.

The new year is not the problem, but this festivities originated from somewhere, and much the same significance is still maintained till date.

The pagans originated the new year festivity. They did so because of false belief about a new year.

As a Christian, I feel that even if I want to start up a celebration, I wouldn't want to copy the pagans nor associate myself with there superstitions. Are there things in life unconnected to pagans? Yes. God has a way He outlined He is to be worshipped just like false gods have their's. God's ways can be gleaned from the scriptures.

The remembrance of Christ's death is originated by him. Christian assembly is not from pagans. To mention but a few.

Now that will take us to whether Christians should observe the mosaic law. I believe the law is out of the way.

For now, the Bible didn't stipulate any rest day for Christians, nor a special worship day as we can see in Judaism. We worship our God any day depending on the land you find us. Some do there's on Saturday and on Thursdays per week others Sunday and any other day.

We don't view our worship on weekends as more important than the one on week days. They are all worship.

Remember my point: I don't think we should join in any festival that has pagan origin and still maintains that significance till date.

Are you saying that in heaven, there will be Saturday in God's heavenly calendar? And that the calendar will cater for about 11 sabbatical systems? I don't think so. The statement is figurative of constant worship of God even in His new system of things.




Of course, Jesus course on Earth was to fulfill the law. After his death the law had been fulfilled. If the law is not out of the way now, we would wonder if Jesus would be coming to fulfill it a second time.

Romans 10:4 says that Christ is the end of the law. What do you understand by that?
