Well boys and girls I righteously had my doors blown clean off their hinges today, by the guitar genius that this hypnotically beautiful Igbo woman puts on display in her youtube videos.

How a person so young could have amassed such a massive musical vocabulary, and developed such an ear for harmonic and melodic beauty, shall remain a mystery to this very average guitar dabbler. Now this young woman suddenly burst on the scene with her Youtube guitar tutorial videos just last year 2019, but I will say one thing for sure here, as a matter of absolute certainty, and that is we are definitely going to hear a LOT more about this gifted musical prodigy that is so, so easy on the eyes.

Without further ado, check out Helen Ibe's spellbinding rendition of that old Bill Withers classic, Lean on Me. Watch the lady's gorgeous face, as the emotions of her own utterly beautiful music flicker with each chord change her fingers weave like magic on the guitar fret-board. The skill of Helen Ibe's playing sets her in a distinct league of her own, as an African musical ambassador that can, and will one day soon, share the stage and spotlight with the greatest mega-stars on this planet.

I love this girl's music, before man and God I do state, and her sultry good looks are enough to melt the heart of any man alive. I had a tear in my eye listening to this video, such is the emotive, sweeping majesty of the music. Tell me if you got hit the same way, and remember this woman's name - Helen Ibe. She WILL become a legend in her own time. Watch this space.

So here is the life story of Helen Ibe, explaining how she got started playing guitar aged nine in church. This girl is so sexy and so immensely talented. Lord have mercy. What a package - beauty and astonishing musical talent all rolled into one.

Now you might be asking yourself if Helen Ibe can sing, in addition to her playing the guitar with such masterful confidence. Check out this video below.

But let us go back to her guitar work. Here we go.

In recent years, guitar-based music has never been valued or appreciated very much in Nigeria, where most "musicians" never even bother to learn to play any instrument, when they can simply download beats on their laptop, record some shouting on top, call it music, and cash in when the lemmings rush to buy the resultant noise.

The absolute zero response to my very enthusiastic review of Nigerian female guitar genius Hellen Ibe, is not in the least bit surprising, meaning that the future of this extremely talented guitar player lies OUTSIDE Nigeria, and in the West, where talented guitar players are in high demand, either as studio session musicians, or as stage performers in their own right.

This small observation is not intended as a criticism of Nigeria's current taste in music, which is largely based on downloaded free beat tracks that require ZERO talent to copy and shout over by performers given to gesticulating wildly with their hands while performing in imitation of American rap artists, while leaping about on stage to the delight of their audiences.

So, all told, it matters not in the slightest, if the Nigerian music industry turns its back on Ms. Hellen Ibe, the African guitar Amazon, because in a few short years if not already, this highly gifted guitar practitioner WILL attain fame and fortune SOMEWHERE out there in the greater world of music that exists in the USA or Europe, where true musical talent is recognized and rewarded handsomely via radio air play, leading to record sales online, or in stores.

Couldn't help but post this mellow tune by guitar legend John Mayer, played so beautifully by Nigeria's own Helen Ibe, whose name is set to travel far and wide across this green planet.

Listen to this song, and let your soul and spirit fly, with Captain Hellen Ibe at the helm in the flight deck. No need for a seat-belt this time around, for this one is going to be a super smooth ride.

This video was posted mere hours ago today, February 6th 2020. Ms. Ibe, if you ever get to read this thread at some point, I commot my cap with major respect for your talent. The Grand Symphony Conductor in the Sky, has blessed you with an abundance of musical talent that continues to rapidly evolve before our very eyes.

At such a young age, Helen Ibe has ALREADY joined the ranks of Nigeria's most accomplished musicians, who will soon take the WORLD stage, by storm. Wherever she goes in this world as a respected Nigerian musical ambassador, one hopes Ms. Ibe will remember to treat the crowds with a few of those uniquely Igbo harmonics and melodies that are served up so magically in several of her youttube clips, for it is that African tradition she brings to the table in such a dramatic departure from the norm.

By showcasing this unique and exotic African dimension to her astonishing repertoire of guitar playing styles, the work of Helen Ibe will will quickly come to be recognized and celebrated as being worlds apart from so many other comparably talented young female guitar players in the West.

Time for this armchair music historian, and frustrated guitar dabbler, to shut up and listen to the rising new guitar master at work. Sunny Ade, and Ebenezer Obe, the venerable godfathers of Nigerian juju guitar music, should both kindly pull up chairs and listen intently, so as to be properly schooled in the fine art of REAL guitar pyrotechnics, as witnessed by mere mortals but once in a generation, and yes, I am talking about Helen-Guitar "Ebay", of Nigeria .

Thank you very much for this thread, Jakumo.

I was searching for acoustic songs to listen to when I stumbled on your thread. It is very imperative that we support and promote our very own talented artistes, and your thread came in handy grin I must say she is honestly way more talented than most and I do hope and pray her talent is duely recognized and she soars as she is supposed to.

She has now gained a new follower and I have subscribed to her channel with glee, all thanks to you, brotherly cool

Meanwhile, remove your eye from her beauty, sir tongue and focus ONLY on the music. She is all for me and me alone, sir grin

I hear you about the need for role models in the African music industry, and the virtuoso guitar skills of Hellen Ibe are bound to open many lucrative doors in her near future. Now that she has blazed a trial, her assured success is bound to inspire many a young Nigerian to pick up the guitar, and embark on that same magical voyage of musical discovery, during which only a handful become mega-stars, due to innate God-given talent.

Oh man, don't get me started talking about this woman's physical beauty. From those slightly oriental eyes, to the astonishing body whose details I dare not enumerate out of respect, suffice to say most red-blooded males who see her videos would heartily agree that she is very, very easy on the eyes. That other-worldly guitar mastery is what really sets Hellen Ibe apart from millions of other gorgeous Nigerian women, and with such a complete package of beauty and musical genius, she is MADE to perform her guitar magic on stage, and by this, I mean the GLOBAL stage.

The DPO has sent some very large and stern-faced men to invite you behind the station counter, where you will be expected to cool your heels for a day or two, making "useful statements" as to WHY you allowed yourself to get involved in such a dastardly attempt to defame our Eze Ndi-Guitar of Africa, Ms. Hellen-Guitar Ebay.

On a related note, any gifted and talented musical performer who ALSO happens to be very good looking, is truly blessed with all the ingredients of global mega-stardom, and this is certainly going to be the case with Ms. Hellen Ibe, once she truly comes to the attention of music industry talent scouts in the USA and EU, who spend a lot of time checking out youtube music videos, in search of the next rising star.

Pop singer Justin Beiber 's career began when his youtube videos were spotted by talent scouts, and then literally overnight, Beiber was swimming in mega-wealth of the sort that materializes when BIG music recording contracts are signed by new artists. Already Hellen Ibe has created a substantial library of youtube guitar lessons, interspersed with some utterly mesmerizing performances that are mentioned in the opening post of this thread, so if I were a gambling man, my good money would be on seeing a meteoric rise in her fortunes and career - VERY SOON !

Hello. I think that Helen Ibe, an African guitar player, plays the guitar very well. I couldn’t find her songs anywhere, I searched all over the Internet and found https://taketones.com/genres/hip-hop on this siteroyalty free hip hop music. Listening to her corporate music is very convenient, especially with headphones. Every day I listen to her on this site when I go to work.

@Jakumo, thank you sir for this thread. I stumbled on it when I clicked to read your other posts like I’ve always done. I became a fan of yours when I read your comment on a thread about some fools testing ‘odeshi’ using some Dane gun.

If I was impressed watching the YouTube links you posted, I was wowed watching her playing Osita Osadebe.

I throway salute Oga KosiGee. Glad to hear that Helen Ibe's music sounds good to you. Oddly enough, the video clip you posted here, in which she plays an instrumental version of the Jimi Hendrix standard "Hey Joe", happens to be one of my least favorite of her stage performances currently on youtube.

The band in this case does not seem to be as fired up by the song, as she is, and one gets the impression that they are all just going through the motions of performing the song, after which they will all be free to go home and get some sleep. Helen Ibe does her best to salvage the scene with some fine guitar work , though I am sure that if she were to comment on this particular performance, it would not be one of her favorite memories.

All my armchair critique aside, I thank you kindly for stopping by and expressing your appreciation for the work of this highly talented musical ambassador from Nigeria, who will one day soon, gain international recognition, and all the great rewards that come with it.

In this video clip just released, we learn for the first time that guitar virtuoso Helen Ibe, bought her first ever electric guitar just six years ago, in 2014, to be precise. And yet, in that short span of years, this delectable and amazingly fit musical prodigy has mastered the instrument to a greater extent than many musicians who picked up the guitar DECADES before Helen Ibe manifested her talent on the global stage.

From her free online guitar lessons, to her ever evolving catalog of spellbinding guitar performances posted on Youtube for generations to enjoy, there is so much to choose from, in the compilation of this brief homage to an emerging African phenomenon.

So, rather than post yet another purely musical offering by Ms. Helen Ibe, I chose instead to share the link to a short narrative video she made, which to me showcases the breathtaking, hypnotic beauty of this guitar playing Amazon woman. To be crude for fellow horn-dogs in da house, Helen Ibe is blessed with exotic, almost oriental facial features, packaged with a firm and busty physique that would set hearts racing faster, and turn a proud man into a dazzled teenager, when she walks in any room on this planet.

In short, Helen Ibe is ILLEGALLY sexy, super fit, witty, sassy and so talented a guitarist, as to defy rational explanation, especially given her very young age.

The exotic physical beauty and captivating, thousand-watt smile of Guitar Maestro Helen Ibe is enough to speed up the heart beat of any red-blooded male, but it is when the music starts to flow like a languid river from her fingertips that you begin to fathom the awesome breadth of Ms. Ibe's musical vocabulary, and you begin to agree that with extreme rarity in any given generation, prodigiously talented musicians are simply ordained as such by The Grand Symphony Conductor in the Sky, as a divine blessing of manifest destiny.

Drawing on multiple influences spanning the gamut from Jazz, Blues, and Rock, to embrace African and Caribbean melodic influences, Ms. Helen Ibe crafts timeless works of sublime beauty that are universally appreciated and admired worldwide, posting them for free on youtube to be enjoyed, freely downloaded and treasured, across cultural and continental divides spanning the globe. This is how epic careers take flight, and so it shall be.

Mark my words, fellow denizens of the Nairaland music forum, Helen Ibe's name already ranks high in that exclusive, rarefied stratosphere of modern day guitar legends that are destined to create musical classics that quickly become inseparable from the sound-tracks of our lives.

As our fragile planet emerges in faltering steps from this tempestuous year of 2020, contemplative music that soothes the soul, with layered melodies that evoke fond memories in listeners both young and old, are what the doctor ordered for every human being with a sense of hearing, and I make bold to say Ms. Helen Ibe, in her capacity as one of Africa's masterful and foremost practitioners of the guitar fret-board, will soothe and uplift with ease, many a worried soul, both during, and after these very trying times of our mortal journey.

Helen is a superb musician, wonderfully talented and beautiful too... But your submission that she played George Benson licks in her Bruno Mars cover, is incorrect. That's a chromatic sequence with the pentatonic scale and yes, I know why you assumed it sounded Bensonesque... Benson is something else... Helen is still good, though.
