This is a great question, I was thinking same. At what point does it says background check completed? At the moment, my eligibility and BC is in process.

I think everything gets completed when a final decision is made. Yours is particularly strange though, because medical has been passed 3months ago! Keep.us posted though. Am sure it will be an approval. All d best

Have u ever sent a web form to ask for status? Your MP office can also give details of the status of your application. Just mail them with your ICI and DOB and they will inquire of CIC. U get status same day.

I did that already and was told it's under active process.

Active process taking this long. Then those in normal process should just forget it. Its well

Just out of curiosity. How would it take Ghana, Kenya and Benin 6 weeks to get their app processed and it takes Nigeria 15 weeks; they are processed from the same visa office.
This could be an issue with the Nigerian system; maybe a slow response time in verifying some documents or background check.

I doubt that response time is d issue after all people reapply within a few months and should their background check take that long in that case if it was done b4? I suspect they just push our applications aside and concentrate on others. How can u explain an application submitted in September still pending? Its mindblowing really.

The matter weak me ooo, today makes it exactly 15 weeks and yet no word from them!!! Medicals has been passed and updated and yet no further instruction/s.

Though am not a guru and had not seen this type of process in recent days, but looking through the above letter, the consultant used IRCC template and drafted a request letter sent to you, your application is still with the people handling your result evaluation, (are they WES?) The mail is from them, looking at the website and all, your application and request had not gone pass their table, applying for a closed work permit does not involves the underlisted documents, since you're not a EE applicant, but if you have no sponsor as it may, you can request for a clarification of what they need in particular or send the details they require to them stating that you didn't use a sponsor. IRCC don't send reminder mail once you received a request mail, they give you a set date to respond and decision will be made on your application.

Best to do is to reach out to the consultant handling your file and seek clarification of the required documents, while you may add your educational documents to the mail and send.

I really don’t think so. Perhaps you can send them a CSE explaining the situation and wait for their advice. By the way, did you have to process a new passport bearing your new surname too? All the best.

Pls if I want to apply with my family on work permit under class B. What can I claim as home tires, also what amount of POF can I show that can cover for family of 5. Though the company that employed me in Winnipeg Manitoba will cover my own ticket, accommodation and transportation for over one month. Thanks

I think it is better to apply as a couple and show that the accompanying spouse can support him or herself. I had about 12k Canadian dollars in my account.
Also, I wrote an emotional SOP about keeping our family together.
Maybe we would have submitted more papers if we had known about this thread before our application. The only things I submitted that weren’t asked for were my car papers, statement of account and my travel history.
No police report, no marriage pictures, I didn’t even submit my employment letter.
