Pls lawyers in the house, was justice mary odili right in her judgment in declaring senator Douye Dirk as the candidate with the next highest number of votes, looking at section 140, subsection 2 of the electoral act?

Was tanko right on his judgement? Mary Odili was right, what of tanko that should have order rerun in a poll they claimed their votes was cancelled and he awarded them all the votes . And declared last person as the winner.

In a country where Justices give verdict that sole favour their parties..
When verdict was given on IMO gubernatorial election, apc were happy but pdp went gory. The latest verdict favoured pdp and apc went gory..
You can see, we never had it this bad in this country...
The poor masses will be at receiving end...
Who cares which side of the divide Justice Odili belongs, all what I know is that we are in trouble..

Illiterate OP! Justice Mary Odili didn't singlhandedly give any verdict, she only presided over the panel and all members of the five man panel of justices were unanimous in their judgement and the judgement was in line with the law. Why so much noise about Justice Mary?

Sharia Justice Tanko Mohammed and APC Kekere-Ekun manufactured votes from nowhere and allocated it to Hope Uzodima but you were jubilating even when there was no basis about the IMO judgement

All the six judges unanimously gave the Judgement in the Imo State case and I think similar thing happened in Bayelsa State.
A single judge can't make a supreme Court judgement.

First of all I would like Nigerians to understand that the Judges, (whether Tanko or Odili) are humans we must respect them for their actions whether good or bad so insulting them would be too harsh. Though they are trained not moved by hearsay, or sentiments but are moved by what is on ground.

Though that of Imo was one error that would not be forgotten by history, be that as it may since the candidate of the PDP has filled his petitions concerning this issue let's wait and see how it goes.
We hope that smiling will be restored back to faces of Nigerians.

Please let's respect our Justices from the CJN down to the least. they are people's family members and even bread winners.
They need our prayers and support.

Ain't a lawyer, but that judgment can't stand judicial scrutiny! the position of the supreme court is unequivocally clear on the propriety of votes, and that is political parties represented on the ballot. the most appropriate thing to have been done is to call for a replacement of the erring dep gov elect based on precedence. justice odili as an unrepentant PDP loyalist only did the bidding of er party. QED!

Seven Justices, a full panel of the Supreme court sat over the Imo case.

Supreme Court sits as a either Seven- or Five- member panel.

There is no peace in the land when grave injustice is committed, and the orchestrator shall get no respect nor peace too. If you look at the two election ruling of both imo and Bayelsa it's quite different, I will start with bayelsa first

In the ruling of Bayelsa, the supreme court affirmed that David Lyon running mate forged his credentials and true to their words it was established the man had different names in all his certificates and I know that party officials should have verified the candidates certificates before presenting them to Inec as their flag bearer. The supreme on the basis of discrepancies in all the certificate submitted void and anull the election of APC in Bayelsa election.

Now, in the case of Imo state, APC went to court that some of its votes were not included in the Imo election result and the votes were submitted not by Inec but by APC which was gotten from an assistant commissioner of police. Now the real problem that arose was when the votes were added to the whole result, the total number of votes exceeded the total number of accredited voters thus putting a question of credibility on the supreme court judgement in IMO. Thus the supreme court have s moral obligation to explain to Nigerians especially Imo indigenes how the discrepancies came to being.
