IPOB has grown so big and dominant in the ideological value of decent people of good conscience that many people are now starting to identify with them. I never thought big politicians or royal people from Igbanke, Ijaw, Ikwerre and many other non Igbo speaking parts of Nigeria will be jostling to visit the compound of the great man and pay their respects. The bus is already moving, more people are converting to IPOB and that's when the movement will transcend ethnic or religious lines and sweep away all vestiges of bad government which has bedevilled Nigeria and Africa.

I agree with the OP. Obi is already loved in the east, he needs to focus more on winning other regions. If Obi gets the ticket to run in 2023, whether he attended this burial or not, he would still get full and undiluted support from Igbos and all IPOB members. Attending the burial has only given room for unnecessary campaign of calumny against him by other regions in future elections. For political expediency, he could have still aligned with ipob without physically being present on the front seat.

When I saw the picture of him and Abaribe, I knew he really goofed.
Abaribe is already a senator for his constituency and only needs their votes but not national votes unlike Obi who might be going for the presidency or vice and needs votes from all zones.

He might just end up going for senate because he going for anything national is already dim.
We all can remember how pictures of the Hero beer was used against him in the last election because of the rising sun logo on it.

Let me tell you something you may not know. There isnt any Northerner that will vote an Igbo man to be President. It doesnt matter what Peter Obi did or did not do, there isnt any Northerner that will leave his his Muslim Northern brother to vote a Christian Igbo man like Obi. Not now or ever
