Press Statement

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) alerts that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is currently mounting pressure on the Supreme Court to restrain itself from reversing the flawed judgment on the Imo State Governorship election despite obvious mistakes in that judgement, which is now threatening the stability of our nation.

The party, which hailed Wednesday's verdict of the Supreme Court on Bayelsa state governorship election, however noted that the elements and grounds for the demands by the PDP and majority of Nigerians for the reversal of Imo state governorship election judgment are completely different from those of Bayelsa.

The PDP explained that its demand on Imo is not in any way in contestation of the authority and finality of the Supreme Court but a patriotic effort to assist the Supreme Court affirm its infallibility by correcting the inherent mistakes in the judgment which came as a result of misleading presentation to it by the APC.

It is therefore instructive to note that the various election matters before the Supreme Court were brought on clearly distinctive grounds and each should be treated on its merit before the law.

The party said the only reason APC was pushing for a review of the Supreme Court’s valid and flawless judgment on the Bayelsa and Zamfara governorship elections was to cause confusion and blackmail the Supreme Court from treating the Imo case on merit.

The PDP maintained that the grounds for the reversal of Imo judgment are unambiguously constitutional and completely distinct from APC’s attempt to blackmail the Supreme Court with their demands on the Bayelsa and Zamfara states governorship election.

The party therefore urged the Supreme Court not to succumb to the threats and blackmail by APC to push it restrain itself from looking at the merit of the Imo case; correcting the mistakes and reversing the flawed judgment.

This party of thieves, looters and criminals will always be foolish.
They are not talking about the victory they had at the SC just few hours ago,
But see them coming up with another bs.
Bunch of annoying hypocrites.

Anyways,
The Supreme court has spoken, which should be final, as it is all over the world.

It all depends on who the indigenes of Bayelsa want and not what the Hypocrites that have never stepped their feet on Bayelsa state are shouting about.

For those of us that are not card carrying members of any political party, but only vote for good men and women that we believe can move their immediate environment forward (same reason all of us @ voted for our darling Daddy in the presidential election and voted for another candidate in another party in our state of residence, no apologies to Sanwo-Olu!)

It is sad that the days intellectuals (from opposing and different political affiliations) discuss politics on the political threads on Nairaland is gone and now it has gone to kids, hypocrites and dirty agberos that curse and abuse their mothers and fathers with no reasonable and sensible posts to contribute)

Lastly......

It is a always good and refreshing to see that we have a President who does not intervene in the rule of law.

Elections In Nigeria now,
There is no need to fear.
Why? Because the will of Nigerians will not be subverted. Never! A President once told us in this country that the coming polls would be do or die.
Not with President Buhari. Fair is fair. No foul play. Under his watch, his political party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has lost gubernatorial elections in Bayelsa(now twice), Oyo State, Zamfara state and Anambra states.
At the last Council of States meeting, Gov Willie Obiano publicly registered his appreciation to President Buhari, for the level playing ground he made available during the election in his state. With do or die apostles, and a certain political party in power, such would never happen. Not with their garrison mentality. All states are territories that must be conquered, willy-nilly.

APC has won gubernatorial positions under Buhari in Kogi, Ondo and Edo states. The victories were fair and square. The party lost in Bayelsa (twice), Zamfara, Oyo, Anambra etc.
This President would never manipulate victory for anyone, not even his own party. And you ask us not to trust him?
We will, and no mistake.

God bless our darling Daddy President Muhammadu Buhari.
God bless Nigeria.

Nothing dicey in Imo judgement. In a judgement made today by Supreme court, they made it clear that they don't reverse their judgement, therefore Imo case could not have been an exception
As simple as that.

How can Hope correct what Rochas did in Imo State. Both are in the same APC party and Hope cannot fight Rochas because they are friends and padi padi. He can't recover the stolen lands and properties.

How can the supreme Court reverse it's own judgement. You are all mad. What on Earth is wrong with Nigerians.

How can a final court of Justice reverse it's own judgement.

God why did you drop me in this country.

Ok. I guess democracy will be in danger if the wish of PDP is not granted. Lol.
Honestly even if the supreme court observes flaws in its judgement it cannot reverse itself in the same case. That will be done in future case.
Reversing it self in the same case will open a flood gate it cannot control.
That essentially was the reason for Bayelsa today. PDP is just amusing us as usual with its conspiracy theories.
