Seems there’s a travel ban to Canada

This is fake news Canada has not yet placed travel bans; however, B.C. health officially have "encouraged" citizens to not travel outside of Canada. Anyone who travels abroad must stay home from work or school for 14 days upon their return to the province, according to health officials. While government cannot force people to follow this rule, officials said they expect people to follow this rule as part their civic duty.l don't know where you received the information you described. The official Canadian policies are published by the Canadian government,You can learn about Canada's response to the virus, including travel advisories and restrictions, here: https://www.canada.ca/en/public-health/services/diseases/2019-novel-coronavirus-infection/latest-travel-health-advice.html .

Yes you are right, but that doesn't really affect anything so far, at least no update about that yet on CIC website, the disruption is only affecting China, Iran and South Korea for now

Who has traveled lately from Nigeria airport? I had no one can travel out of Nigeria without a yellow card. How true is this?

It has always been like that,it’s not lately! You’d need a yellow card to travel outside Nigeria! I’ve never passed through the airport without a yellow card!

Please house, who can confirm if the Canada embassy in Nigeria is still opening for applications amid the wide spread of covid19?

I know this yellow card thing is applicable to those traveling to SA, not those traveling to the US or Canada. I don't know if they started using it for all countries cos of the virus...

I’ve never been to SA but i’ve been to Asia etc from the United states! You don’t need yellow card ...stuff like that! But anytime im traveling from lagos,i always have yellow card (Not that it was used in the destination country)

And yes,i think i saw a post somewhere that yellow card is now compulsory for travelers to all countries! You shouldn’t worry,it’s not a big deal...it’s not hard to get! You can get it the same day you go for it!

And i don’t think it has anything to do with the coronavirus! If you need any kind of medical test result to travel,it wouldn’t be a yellow card! Because during ebola, they were testing people and issuing a little white slip as a test result before you could fly! Personally,i wouldn’t advice traveling anywhere during this time unless it’s super important!

Please na, don't say these with such authority. And not even "lately"? Haba!

I have seen a couple of places, the first time I was made to get a yellow card for travel was on a road trip via Seme-Aflao to Ghana, next was a visit to SA, I can't remember any other country requiring same from me even if I believe there'd be more countries requiring it not just lately. But the US, Canada, the UK and Schengen countries I have seen so far have never asked me for it, neither have they asked it of me from the Nigeria end on my way to these countries, not even UAE, and not even Kenya if my memory is serving me right.

Hmm! You didn’t read the rest of my comment! Anyway, for North America and Schengen countries you don’t need yellow card but i most definitely presented my yellow card IN ASIA when i did Singapore & China (Flying from lagos, other trips from the US,i wasn’t asked of yellow card)! Not this year or the last so it’s not even about coronavirus issue! I guess it’s for some vaccines...yellow fever or so! I was pointed to a medical office like that for me to hand my yellow card then gave me a slip and directed me to immigration!

Up until now i didn’t know yellow card wasn’t compulsory,im now just confirming it from you! I didn’t want to type this openly (But i usually just buy it from the boys hawking it in front of the airport for 1k or so) I just like staying prepared for lagos airport people to avoid their BS!

Canada has officially self quarantined. I wonder what happens next. My wife's passport has been with them since February 13.

Application submitted on January 3

You have to be patient. Some applications just take way longer than others to process.

Screenshot shows they’ve done background checks and eligibility test has commenced. So there is progress. So chill out and stop fretting.

When they are done with eligibility, they will send you feedback through bvl and final decision which could be closer than you think.
