Hi guys. I created a different profile for this.

So my dad has been ill for about 2/3 years now. We're not rich, we can only visit private hospitals for manageable illnesses like malaria so as such, we've been going to a government hospital somewhere in lagos.

Asides from the ineptitude of government hospital doctors, the system on it's own needs a total overhaul. With the kind of illness my dad has, you'd expect doctors to give him appointments weekly or twice a month but we go to the hospital once every one or two or even three months. We've been doing that for about two years now and it's not a guarantee you see the same doctor twice and as such, each time we see a different doctor, they remove one drug the previous doctor added and then add their own. That is both stressful and expensive.

Early this year, my grandma(father's mother) died. Since my dad got sick, he's been agitating to go the village but I have refused because I know he wants to go traditional) but as my grandmother died, traveling down home became inevitable.

We have buried my grandma and done the funeral, note: everyone in the village has an opinion. They have all been pushing my dad to go traditional, saying his illness was caused by someone and no matter how long we go to the 'white man's' hospital, there won't be a solution.

The first thing that should come to your mind is church, seek God not dibia or any babalawo.
COME UNTO ME ALL YE THAT ARE SICK AND HEAVY LADEN AND I WILL GIVE YOU REST.
resisting going to an herbalist means you are a Christian and a believer, why not put your faith to use and go to a God calling church

Although I am against going to any medicine man, I have never openly opposed any of my father's kinsmen and relatives and villagers, not necessarily out of respect but a bit out of fear that I annoy someone and they do juju for me(I always so I don't believe in any of that but I still want to give them the benefit of doubt).

Now, I need advice. Should my father go traditional or should he stick to his western medicine? He's visibly frustrated and depressed. He doesn't sleep because he's in pains at night, always out of breath and has no appetite.

Please, also give reasons for your answer.

My faith is unshaken but because I want to be a Christian doesn't mean I should throw away all sense of reasoning.

The reality is my dad needs medical help but government hospitals are just not helping. Two years and we're still where we are, even getting worse. I hope you understand my pov?

Should I continue or let my dad go traditional?

Allow your dad to have every opportunity to treat himself as long as he is not shedding another man's blood abeg. Don't allow the undesired to happen to your father and his people will say you killed him by denying him treatment which would have cured him. That trouble you were trying to avoid with your village uncles, na that time you go come face am double. Use your head, do the right thing. Let people know that you have tried by exploring all available options even if that fails. It might even be that it is the traditional way he needs for him to be healed.

do you believe in God or herbalist?
Who created herbalist?
Who created the things he is gonna use?
Even an. Herbalist will tell u, have faith may God allow it to work.
So why don't you go to the author and finisher of our faith, the beginning and the end?

Somewhere in the Bible, a. King told one of his kinsmen to go and make enquiry from shaman if he is going to die becos he was sick unto death, and the word of God came unto that kinsmen that
IS IS THAT THERE IS NO GOD IN THE LAND THAT YOU WANT TO GO AND MAKE ENQUIRY FROM A Shaman?
because you have done this, you will die.

So my brother, try God. Go to him with a sincere heart and believe ND come back here and give testimony so that others too will know he is the alpha and omega
