I attended the most expensive schools. I'm even a bit intelligent . My siblings are a bunch of empty heads. Not sure my siblings can compose write-ups like those who suffered during childhood according to the comments I've read so far in this thread. I'm even impressed with the deaf barber who didn't attend a University .

Millions have been spent on my siblings and myself . I still don't believe my siblings can compose a meaningful essay.

Four or five square meals a day. Girls from richer backgrounds chase you. Church girls crush on you after your parents make a donation and they see you walk into an exotic car after church service . You walk into your father's office and seat down in a seat a higher degree holder who is his employee wouldn't seat. Very clear skin and everyone calls you "soft boy".

I'm not worried about myself but fear for my siblings. Don't want them to taste poverty because I know those poor creatures can't survive the least difficult story I've read in this thread.

Lol. Quite impressive that men would look for trouble and expect the lady to be virtuous enough to ignore.

How do you people do it? grin If you don’t want “quarrels”, mind your fcking businesses!

Besides coming to a public forum to talk down on your siblings, it's as much ur duty to correct them when they go astray as it is to relate with them when they are perfectly doing fine. They are your siblings, your only family. Sit them down and talk to them like adults, most kids from rich background behaves similarly probably because of their rich parents not knowing parents will one day disappear into thin air, if you know what I mean.
Please always advice them, as much as you can. Thanks!

Poverty isn't good boss, i want to leave that cycle asap. Bless ur boy pls

I know my own escape from the poverty cycle will come very soon. I come from an average family but things nosedived when i was in senior sec sch. After sec school, i left home and started hustling and working different jobs.

I later apprenticed at a tyre service shop and learnt the trade. I got admission into uni and had to combine the skill (with other petty businesses) and schooling. That's how i paid for my University degree. Now im serving and almost done with nysc, i really pray for a miracle financially so i can support my family.

I can't continue with my Tyre services hustle all my life so i ventured into an online biz this year (KDP), by God's grace I'm escaping from poverty soon and i will update this post.

Seen. I love your determination.

We were so poor...I could not go to uni when all my friends were.

Here's what helped....

1. I read Lots of books. Motivational books. Business books. Marketing books. One that helped me know there was more to life was Robert Schuller book 'Tough times don't last but tough people do'. I borrowed a foto copied version from a friend. That was in 1997. I would Starve myself so I can buy books. Sometimes I foto copy from other people or borrow it.

By 2007...i stumbled on some CDs by Sam Adeyemi and he advised the best way to get out of poverty is to learn a skill and make money from it.

2. I learnt a skill. That paid lots of money. I learnt copywriting. Online marketing. Direct response marketing. I ready everything and watched all videos I could find online by Frank Kern....Dan Kennedy and started applying it.

3. I would read a lot about rich people. Wht they do. What houses they buy....what business they run. How they make money.

4. I would also read any business book. Financial newspapers. I am that person that would buy a newspaper to see the adverts in it and trace what those companies do.

Overtime...I started making money. Made first million in 2008. And then just rinse and repeat.

I have lost millions too. But a lot better now financially. Travelled the world. Met lot of people. Built contact.

And at the ripe age of 35 got a degree from a foreign University.

Funny enough....that degree is now useless. Even in full time employment in my country of residence...i have never been asked for the certificate. What matters most is my skills.

Baba let me learn this copy writing and these skillsftim you. I fit pay token sff

What skill do you have? The best way to get out of poverty is by acquiring a skill and also trust in God. There is a covenant practice called tithing. It works like wild fire. Begin to committedly start attending a bible based church and practice kingdom principles. Your story will change

My Story long.. But I no go expose myself for public forum
I am still poor..I've been starved for a whole day straight.. Just drinking water only.. I de stay with my Uncle... As i am now.. I have vowed not to get married or born.. Till I get enough money..
Imagine getting cov in a course because i no get 2k to buy book... Imagine not writing Ssce with my mates bcuz of 15..
People with rich parents don't know what God has done for them..

I won't bring a child into this world to come and suffer what i suffered.. ⅓ of what I've seen would kill some people

Long story short... My life is meaninglessness.. I'm just clowning Online to kill depression..
If I see anywhere wey i fit Sell my soul to give my parents and my younger bro and Sis Money to enjoy life forever... I'd do it.... All the ones have seen are demanding sacrifice.. I'm a half atheist anyways...So many prayers have gone unanswered that I have doubts about anybody up there
Nothing de to live for for this world... We are all gonna die anyways... It's just a matter of time..

An inspector of education, my grandfather was. Yet he abandoned my mom and her siblings for another woman who already had kids for other men. He said it was charm, that's how my mom and her siblings (15 of them) struggle their way up... My grandma had to train the first 4 , those ones graduated and train d younger ones. It was a big challenge, kids with rich dad lived all their life like destitutes but today they are all well to do.

shogsman:
Well my parent's weren't rich but we were pretty comfortable and I didn't really lack too much but there was no opportunity because of social stratification,so I had to turn to udemy to acquire skills plus my certificate and other business idea, now I got a house and 2cars(selling one) I think I'm pretty comfortable and I try to give back as well.

Firstly, make sure your daily problem is not more than your daily bread.

Secondly, never date the wrong set of people.

Thirdly, keep trying. One day you will receive a life changing phone call.

Fourthly, make enough mistakes till you are 25 but never repeat any of your mistakes.

More so, make sure you ask yourself; are you working for yourself and future, Or you are living for others?

Let me add mine as encouragement.
I'm not from a poor family by the way, I've always be driven to school in a Lexus with AC and a personal driver that's drives me and my brother's. Lived in a house with 8 rooms when we are just 6.
When I was in secondary school, jss2, I always wanted to make money myself, my dad used to give me 100 naira, and I was so mad that even with everything he had I was getting so little. I went to the school canteen to buy sweet and noticed it was sold 15 naira in my school, but sold 5naira outside back then. Then I got an idea, So I started buying lollipop sweets to sell In school my dad never knew.and I sold and made some money. Did that till I got to ss1 before I stopped, that when I grew up small and stated collecting 500 naira for lunch everyday. Well after school I still went to install games and music for people in the market, my dad never knew, the day he found out he actually arrested. Lol. But in all this I wanted to make something for myself. But my dad finally made me lazy. I wish I was born poor, I won't be lazy and rude as I am right now.maybe who knows I could have even made my own personal million without my pops help..such is life. Sorry I meant 100 naira.

The sad thing is that all that money could keep you happy temporarily but you will never feel fulfilled simply becos it's not what you wanted or what you earned by yourself.

So that's one of the reasons it may change your personality a few times

Having it should not make you lazy but should assist your future plans and enable you build an empire that would lead to generational wealth. Think big and be very generous to the needy. Empower others with your wealth. Don't give them money at all, give them skills to build their future.

Nigerians love to beg even when they are okay so be on the look out for people so poverty-stricken that need to develop a skill
