IgbereTV reports that a traditional ruler in Anambra State, HRH Igwe Gerald Obunadike Mbamalu of Ojoto, in Idemili South LGA (Eze Oranyelu 1 na Eze Ojoto 111) led a community task force on Friday morning, 27th March 2020 to shut down a burial ceremony at Akabor Ojoto that is in disobedience to the state government’s directives for the fight against Coronavirus.

IgbereTV recalls that the Anambra State government had given out various directives banning public gathering of 30 people and more, suspension of burials, traditional weddings and other community festivals.

The traditional ruler should have allowed the proceedings of the burial to end.

One is that the burial has been fixed before the pandemic and so much money spent..

Precaution should be the right thing not shutting it down.

That's why I always say that there is a big difference between hereditary (Monarchial) traditional system than elected traditional system.

Guess the Igwe is an elected one.....that is afraid of been deposed.
