Really don't get it? A suspected patient was tested and was not told her result and you hold a press a conference to disclose the result without her consent? Who does that? I want to believe it is not true. Let's keep our fingers crossed wait for Benue state government to clear up this mess.

Well she is the one that cause it,why coming back to Nigeria at this particular moment and leaving her children behind. And another thing is that may be the Governor is looking for donations from federal authorities, and this is his opportunity to show that his state has the virus.

You are NOT UNCORRECT!
The pdp governor of Benue State is known for wuru-wuru things, like announcing fake attacks on him and blaming fulani herdsmen. When he heard fg gave lagos 10 billion, time to make a move. God deliver the woman from these evil people.

If there is no trust in our test results here, its a very serious issue....but we just have to make do with what we have ,every one in the world is thinking about home,i,m not sure any foreign lab technician will want to come here at the moment.

Even professional footballers are leaving their bases and running home.

Sorry but I don't believe this tale

1.The source is from Facebook

2.It isn't from the index case's facebook page , but from another page.

3. Let's assume the story is true...then it is possible the woman is in denial, and thinks she doesn't have the disease. It is also possible that she does not want to be stigmatized. (see why we don't like it when people tell the name of a sick patient with covid)

4.People don't like staying in hospital...and being in isolation can be psychologically taxing . Assuming the story is true, that is.

MODIFIED

Infact, assuming the story is true, I believe the woman is in denial. And matters were not helped when the state governor also mentioned her name because that opens her up to a) stigmatization b) being accused of being a 'false flag person' by conspiracy theorists.

Also, she appears to be recovering...even then, standard protocol is that she should isolate for a further 2 weeks.

Lastly, staying in hospital can be psychologically taxing. As anyone can tell you. She is probably fed up with the isolation.

Blaming the state government for manufacturing a case to use for looting is not helpful.

Government tell people to stay at home yet there's no electricity to make people stay within the comfort of their home.

How do you prevent the spread of COVID-19 when neighbors in rural areas share the same mat or wrappers outside at night when heat is extremely intense.

Years of I don't care attitude in the power sector may fuel the spread of COVID-19 in Nigeria.

This is time for 24 hours electricity supply or risk the spread of corona virus due to age long nonchalant attitude in the power sector

That means she was not tested properly of corona virus before she was pronounced positive of corona virus.
i came back from school situated in northern nigeria. Before then i had sore throat although not severe. The day i was to travel down to makurdi there were rumours in school that a paticular student had the virus and some how i might have come in contact with a person that was in contact with the susposed index student patient. I got scared the more when half way through the journey i became feverish and the sore throat persisted. On reaching makurdi i asked my siblings to direct me to a virus testing facility. The cautioned me that benue has non and that if i go the the teaching hospital to report my symptoms i'll be apprehended and dubbed as "patient zero" without proper testing and confirmation. I was shocked. I didnt go for the test. After sleeping for several hours i was fine. The sore throat and fever were gone. Apperantly it may be just comon cold and the fact that i was stressed while traveling. The lady might be clean after all. I dont believe she was tested of covid-19 and it came out positive.
