Church Memo

I am bringing the following information to you from the Deeper Christian Life Ministry Lagos.

1. The directive from the Lagos State government as a measure to control the spread of coronavirus is that for the next four weeks, no religious gathering should have more than 50 persons in attendance.

2. In compliance with this, please quickly make arrangement for your Power Night today in such a way that not more than 45 to 48 persons (Children, youths and Adults) will be meeting in any District Church premises. This may comprise of one or two selected Zones that are not more than the permitted number.

3. The rest of the brethren and invitees should meet in House Centers and must also not exceed the permitted number.

4. An usher with a Zonal Leader should be mandated to supervise and obtain for the Church all reports (Attendance, new comers etc).

5. Arrangement should be made for those meeting in House Centers to connect to the GS message using internet and mobile devices.

6. The March Miracle Revival Programme will be held with this same arrangement.

7. The Saturday Workers Training shall be held on District basis, while Tuesday Leaders Development will be held on Group basis keeping to the same size limits.

All combined Services at Gbagada will not hold until further directives from the GS.

Christ's Compassionate Ministry To The Multitude

Mark 6:31-44 KJV
And he said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat. [32] And they departed into a desert place by ship privately. [33] And the people saw them departing, and many knew him, and ran afoot thither out of all cities, and outwent them, and came together unto him. [34] And Jesus, when he came out, saw much people, and was moved with compassion toward them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things. [35] And when the day was now far spent, his disciples came unto him, and said, This is a desert place, and now the time is far passed: [36] Send them away, that they may go into the country round about, and into the villages, and buy themselves bread: for they have nothing to eat. [37] He answered and said unto them, Give ye them to eat. And they say unto him, Shall we go and buy two hundred pennyworth of bread, and give them to eat? [38] He saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? go and see. And when they knew, they say, Five, and two fishes. [39] And he commanded them to make all sit down by companies upon the green grass. That feedback gave them the possibility of progress planning. It was part of their training.

The responsibility is to do and to teach as an extension of what Christ did.

What you do and what you teach. The acts and the action. The message and teachings you give.

He declared giving the details of what God had instructed him and what he has done.

And I went up by revelation, and communicated unto them that gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, but privately to them which were of reputation, lest by any means I should run, or had run, in vain.

Repentance, faith in Christ, coming out of darkness into the kingdom of God. They followed the Master's footsteps in a limited sense.

So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.

iii) The refreshing of their soul and their spirits.

The recharging of our spiritual batteries. Without that regular refreshing from the Lord you will not make any refreshing.

That is why Jesus told them to come and rest a little while.

And the next day we touched at Sidon. And Julius courteously entreated Paul, and gave him liberty to go unto his friends to refresh himself.

Paul the apostle was always doing, always teaching. Some people work and there is no time to sit down with their childrn and rresh themselves.

Wherefore I pray you to take some meat: for this is for your health: for there shall not an hair fall from the head of any of you.

1 Kings 19:5 KJV
And as he lay and slept under a juniper tree, behold, then an angel touched him, and said unto him, Arise and eat.

Elijah, always busy, always on the go, now arise and eat.

1 Kings 19:6-7 KJV
And he looked, and, behold, there was a cake baken on the coals, and a cruse of water at his head. And he did eat and drink, and laid him down again. [7] And the angel of the Lord came again the second time, and touched him, and said, Arise and eat; because the journey is too great for thee.

You need strength, you need renewal.

We need that refreshing, we need to take care of our personal lives.

Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.

You come to the bible study, you come to the Sunday service and to even eat when is the time for it to digest.

Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.

Do yu have any kind of medical challenges, when are you going to address this medical issue in your life? I will be wise and the Lord will prolong our lives in Jesus' name.
Revitilise yourself so that you will always be in a restored situation.

If the iron be blunt, and he do not whet the edge, then must he put to more strength: but wisdom is profitable to direct.

Yu are cutting with the axe, it is blunt and they you are applying more strength, why don't you sharpen the axe.

2. The Master's Focus on Fundamental Teachings

And they departed into a desert place by ship privately. [33] And the people saw them departing, and many knew him, and ran afoot thither out of all cities, and outwent them, and came together unto him.

And Jesus, when he came out, saw much people, and was moved with compassion toward them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things.

What did Jesus teach them?

Matthew 5:1-3 KJV
And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him: [2] And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying, [3] Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

That is fundamental. The fundamental thing is to teach and reveal and to show them the way into the kingdom.

Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

They are sorrowful because of their sins.

Matthew 5:5 KJV
Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

After they have been forgiven they remain meek.

Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

And straightway many were gathered together, insomuch that there was no room to receive them, no, not so much as about the door: and he preached the word unto them.

He preached and taught them.

He wasn't teaching on knowledge to fill their brains but on repentance.

He was telling to seek the Lord when He can be found.

Luke 13:25-26 KJV
When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are: [26] Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets.

Luke 13:27-28 KJV
But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity. [28] There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out.

He was telling the purpose of His teaching which was to bring them into the Kingdom, He never diverted from His goal. The people's readiness or refusal, repentance or resistence did not make Him to be diverted, He remained focussed. Christ foccused on their repentance and salvation.

Preach the word that is fundamental that sinners will know what it means to be saved.

Acts 20:20-21 KJV
And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publicly, and from house to house, [21] Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

Galatians 1:11-12 KJV
But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. [12] For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.

What the Lord revealed is what we should emphasis.

2 Timothy 2:2 KJV
And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.

Matthew 28:19-20 KJV
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: [20] Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

We will be faithful in declaring His truth and the Lord will be with us.

3. The Miraculous Feeding Of The Five Thousand

And when the day was now far spent, his disciples came unto him, and said, This is a desert place, and now the time is far passed: [36] Send them away, that they may go into the country round about, and into the villages, and buy themselves bread: for they have nothing to eat.

i) The concerned ministers of Christ.

He saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? go and see. And when they knew, they say, Five, and two fishes. [41] And when he had taken the five loaves and the two fishes, he looked up to heaven, and blessed, and brake the loaves, and gave them to his disciples to set before them; and the two fishes divided he among them all. [42] And they did all eat, and were filled.

Matthew 14:15 KJV
And when it was evening, his disciples came to him, saying, This is a desert place, and the time is now past; send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves victuals.

They had concern but didn't take laws into their hands. They came to the Lord for Him to send them away. You don't care to the point of neglecting leadership, it is not right. Let the Lord make the final decision.

ii) The creative miracle of Christ.

And they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments, and of the fishes.

John 6:10-12 KJV
And Jesus said, Make the men sit down. Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand. [11] And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would. [12] When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost.

When we eat we don't throw much away so that we can give to those who do not have.

John 6:13 KJV
Therefore they gathered them together, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves, which remained over and above unto them that had eaten.

iii) The corrective message of Christ

What was their attitude after that miracle?

John 6:15-17,24-26 KJV
When Jesus therefore perceived that they would come and take him by force, to make him a king, he departed again into a mountain himself alone. [16] And when even was now come, his disciples went down unto the sea, [17] And entered into a ship, and went over the sea toward Capernaum. And it was now dark, and Jesus was not come to them. [24] When the people therefore saw that Jesus was not there, neither his disciples, they also took shipping, and came to Capernaum, seeking for Jesus. [25] And when they had found him on the other side of the sea, they said unto him, Rabbi, when camest thou hither? [26] Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled.

Your stomachs are filled but your souls are starving.

John 6:27 KJV
Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.

He wants us to think beyond the material things.

Romans 14:17 KJV
For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

Philippians 3:18-19 KJV
(For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: [19] Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)

Go beyond earthly blessings and think about eternal life.

Christ multiplies food but also gives us bread from heaven. He heals but also gives us holiness. Are you saved, are you born again, have you taken care of your spiritual needs?

Mark 8:36-37 KJV
For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? [37] Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
