I experienced exactly the same thing. I got an email my hotel reservation has been cancelled after submission. I quickly booked another one, sent an email to UKVI explaning what happened with the new reservation. But unfortunately, it was stated in the refusal letter among other reasons that they checked my reservation using open source and they noticed it has been cancelled. That it cast doubt about my intention for a short visit.

Like one of the response stated, if that is only only thing left they might overlook it. Then I have not been to the U.K before.

So dont waste your money sending any email. They wont update your application.

patdman:
Hello house,

Please I have an issue for which I need assistance. I submitted my Application on the 12th March, did biometrics @ tls Abuja. Received Acknowledgment Receipt from UKHubvisa on the 16th, but I'm just finding out that my hotel booking was cancelled today 30th March.
I've gone ahead to make a fresh booking & I would like to inform them (UKVI) of the update. Can anyone help with the best way to achieve this (email or phone), and also will it affect my visa application.

I applied for 2years visit, and I've been to the U.K. severally in the past, on a student visa and recently last year with a 6months visa.

Thank you

Hello gurus in the house. Can anyone help me with links on how to process visiting visa for children,or any parent that has gone through the lane.
Does the rule of not spending more than 2x disposable income applicable to them.
I want to be their sole sponsor for the trip,3kds with range age <10 and > 2.
Will budget of 700k to be stated for their trip for the application.
Please enlighten me more how to go about it.

I am applying for them separately.

I don’t think 700k will ever be enough for 3 kids trip

You should wait till this covid-19 of a thing clear off before applying for
any visa. The situation at hand now may have impact on outcome of visa.
This is not the time to apply for visitor visa.

Hi, got a quick question. Can you travel from UK to Nigeria with an expired Nigerian passport and a valid British passport, would you be allowed entry? Thanks

You either renew your passport or get a Nigerian Visa

Probably an "Emergency Travel Document" can also work.

I got my 6 months visit visa on Thursday!
Did my biometrics on the 6th of March, got a submission confirmation on the 11th and got my passport delivered on the 25th.
The documents submitted were
Work ID
Introduction letter from employer
6 months payslip
Salary bank statement
Secondary bank account statement
Employment letter
Evidence of my engagement ( my engagement ring receipt and ring certificate)
My fiancé passport data page
Please did you do it yourself or you used agent? How much is in your opening bank statement allowance?

Good day my fellow Nairalanders, I have gone through the thread and you all are maximizing this platform beautifully as an analog to disseminate information.
Well I have a question, I am a student, but also have a job that I am managing that pays me 50k per month. Recently I discovered a job opportunity in the U.K, of which I am very qualified for and the only way to apply is to go over there.
The UK visitor visa seems to be too expensive for me and I cannot use my sponsors bank statement. What other visa's can I use that will enable me tender a bank statement?
I have money for flight, itinerary, feeding e.t.c., but I don't have the 6 months substantial amount in my bank account that is required.

Kindly suggest the best way I can handle this to bolster my chances.

Thanks in anticipation.

What sort of job is that? Why are you not allowed to apply from Nigeria?

Its the British Army. You can either apply from Nigeria or go over there to apply, but when you go there, the process is swifter. Thereafter, they send you a Letter of Invite, for the assesment/interview stage.

Boss @justwise please advise me based on my earlier enquiry.

If you must travel on tourist visa and you say you don’t have the statement of account to back up your financial ties, you can buttress on you being a student and have your father sponsor your holiday trip.
You would just need to prove relationship between you two, origin of his funds and salary and evidence that he is financially capable to sponsor your holiday. Read up one student Ibukun(cant remember full moniker) on this thread for an idea on documents you should compile. He/she is a student also. You must also prove beyond reasonable doubts why you can’t abandon Nigeria and must come back ie. your education, your parents bla bla

Everyone is going through this covid 19 pandemic thing. The whole world is.
We haven’t gone through it before to understand what the circumstances would be for visas when all this is over.

Just wait when it’s that time, I believe you can contact them... like several others in your shoes. I want to believe there would be some recompense for all these losses buhhhht no one can know until all this is over

Nothing like waiver or extension. If your visa expired, you will need to apply for new visa.

Moreover this is not the time to talk about travel.

Hello wonderful people on this forum. I greet you all. Please I want to ask this question. I have built a statement of 9 months. I have a job which pays monthly. But somewhere in December I did a temporary job for EC ( electoral commission) and I was paid this week. Amount is £54 how much does that affect me. My closing balance for the 9months is £4065.
Note I will keep building the statement for about 3months more by which I suppose by then the pandemic will have subsised.
