justwise and others, I am 29years old and married with no formal education. I am planning on writing GCE exam later this year as well as other exams required for me to gain an undergraduate admission into a UK uni. What are my chances of getting a study visa?

A Nigerian with no formal education couldn’t have written that.

Write the GCE.
Obtain the relevant grades in the relevant subjects.

Apply for UK schools.

You will DEFINITELY get the admission.

Then apply for a study (Tier-4) visa. You will DEFINITELY get the visa (if you fulfil all the requirements).

Then buy flight tickets for yourself.

Then kiss and hug your wife at the airport.
Then fly to the UK, and commence your studies.

Then be communicating with your wife on whatsAPP or BBM or Facebook.

If you have money, then your wife can apply for a VISITING visa to go and see you in the UK. Then she returns back. Then you too can be going home to visit her, then you return to the UK.

You may be able to work (up to 20 hours per week, depending on your school).

Any more questions?
Just ask.
Thank you.

I used Zenith Bank. Applied on the 19th of last month and was debited on the 24th. They actually complained of lack of fund from CBN. I actually got a good rate @427.5

Yeah sure I just applied recently for September intake for Msc in Human Resources Management which is a year program . Hoping to hearing from STIRLING soon.

Stirling is a very beautiful town. I haven't schooled there but I visited several years back. Scotland is a lovely place to study in. The people are very welcoming but you have to do your research on job availability!

Go for it, you have nothing to lose though you will not be able to travel with your family.

Give it a go and don't let the age and the level of education discourage you.

You write better than many with degree.

Good day Fam, I trust you all are doing good good. i need your input on the PSW visa and my question is, can you invite your spouse to UK during your psw visa( after your tier 4) and would she be entitled to work full time? I know details about the policy still sketchy but any useful information will be appreciated

Hello house, please I'll like your honest advice.
I studied Biochemistry, graduated last 2 years with a 4.05 Cgpa. The issue now is, I want to study MSC pre registration Nursing in the UK, but my dad wants me to study Biotechnology or Biomedicine. Which one of the three course will increase my chances of getting a job in the UK?
I really love nursing as a course.

@justwise, please contribute to this.

If you have an account with them, just go to any branch and pick up application form for FORM-A.
Documents you should go with are
1. Offer letter from school
2. The page where the amount you are paying was specified by the school
3. International passport
4. Degree certificate(if paying for post graduate degree)
5. NYSC discharge

Charges are:

3500 +vat for the form
5000 for the processing
Additional 5000 if your school want them to confirm the telex.

Exchange rate: subject to CBN rate at the time of processing.

Duration: subject to availability of funds at CBN

The BEST place (and person) to sort this out is not Nairaland or Justwise.

Do they do top up of converting a 3rd class to a higher class?

I don’t really get your question. They have top-up programs for HND graduates and university lower credit graduate. After the program, one will be issued BA (Hons) degree. It’s a year program

Your Dad's opinion is very important but its even more important for you to study a course you have hunger for, convince him why you want to study that course, research on job prospects of that course and use it as part of your argument.

Always go for what you are good at else you will be a shadow of yourself.

Hi everyone, just want to check with current/past students. I was going through my course schedule for the September 2020 period. There are 2 semesters whereby u take 2 examinations, and the 3 being May - September, is that the period for dissertation & graduation? Help me clarify pls.

Also, I read some pages back that IHS is £646, someone else is mentioning IHS as £300, I checked the gov.uk and IHS is £300. Which is it pls?
Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 3 by Bourne007(m): 10:37pm On Apr 09, 2020
It will be increased from £300 to £470 which takes effect from October 1st. I suggest you apply before that.

It's actually £624 but for applicants who are not students.

Passion is one thing. ... money and security is another thing. I think both are equally important.

Also until you get into somewhere you never know if you had that passion.

If it me, if my plan is to settle in the uk then I would go with what makes sense better in terms of opportunities . I would say the easier route to get a job after graduation is nursing although the money in UK is small for the work involved . Nurses work hard

Some universities here in Nigeria allows a 3rd class graduate to top up his or her result to second class upper or lower. It's a 2 years program here. Can you give me link to the school website please?
