How Kindle Direct Publishing Works:

You write the manuscript, edit it, format it, and design a professional Cover for it. You then create account with KDP and publish it. You are paid Royalties on each unit sales.
There are two types of royalties 35% and 70% of the list price.
As for receiving the payment, you use Payoneer.

When you want to publish your book on Kindle (KDP eBook), know that you don't use PDF file of your manuscript to do that but you use your manuscript's formatted Microsoft Word file.

Tax Interview

These are what to take note of:
1. All the part concerning "Tax Treaty" and hence TIN, leave them blank because Nigeria don't have tax treaty with America and hence they will withold 30% of your monthly earnings as tax withholding and pay you the rest. Continue the rest till the end of the tax interview and save.
2. Towards the end of it, Tick the check box to Agree to the terms. In the place of signature, put your full name that you are using to open the Amazon account. Select individual. Fill the date. Download or Print it and keep it for reference purpose. Submit it.

KDP AND PAYONEER ACCOUNT CREATION

You can use the links below to create your Amazon KDP account and the second one to register and open a US bank account through Payoneer with which to receive your royalties.

Follow the tips I provided to guide you in the process and feel free to contact me for any clarification as you create the accounts.

KINDLE DIRECT PUBLISHING (KDP) ACOOUNT CREATION

NOTE:
*Note that in both the KDP publisher account creation and registering for Payoneer bank account, you will be required to input a P.O Box mailing address or the postal code of your area, hence make sure you know that correctly.
*KDP Tax Interview: When Taking the Tax Interview, Any thing that has to do with the Tax Treaty under which you have the TIN, Use the Second option of "You have applied but yet to get it" and you will be fine.
*Make sure you use the same information (Names) to open the two accounts.
*Also, for the publishing account, there is a place where you will be asked if you are a US citizen, say No. There is also a place where you will be asked if you are going to be publishing as an individual or company, you should say individual.
*Make sure you use a valid email.
*Make sure you take your Amazon tax interview which is part of the KDP account creation process.
*As for the bank account information for Amazon KDP, you will enter those details once Payoneer has provided you with the required details: Bank name, Bank country (which is US) because Payoneer bank account is a US bank account, Bank account name, Bank account number, and routing number.
If you are yet to be provided with the Payoneer Bank account details, choose the option "I don't have a bank account" on your KDP publishing profile setup and continue the process. You can then go ahead to publish your book once you are done with the account setup as you can add the payoneer account details anytime you have it.
*Once Payoneer approve your application, they will want you to prove your identity with an ID. They will also want you to prove what you want to use the account for. In that case just tell them you are an Amazon author and publisher. They will then ask you to provide a link to your online business, in that case u put in a link to your Amazon author page or ASIN of your book. That will be after you book is published and “Live”.
*To do that, once you login to your Payoneer website, click on "Global Payment" and then scroll down to submit the proof of Identity and answer the Questionnaire.
