I know it is a privilege to be called into ministry. I also know it is a challenging mission that most times has little or no support/advice machineries in place to help out.

This is a thread to hear and help out pastors and people called into ministry who has questions or topics to share.

May the good Lord grant us all the strength to keep doing his good work without backsliding. Amen

Updated: I set up this to answer genuinely questions and have good conversation, based on the fact that a lot of people got what religion, Jesus etc means and does.

Please insults is not necessary as you can ask me anything and I will answer in a way that you will understand which will help you know a good or bad man of God

Update Apr 16 2020: in comments, write up about qualities a pastor should have. This is an indication to knowing a called pastor. God cannot be mocked.

Is it advisable to get a bank loan with a high interest rate to set up a new church?

If you are called into ministry! More important than praying for power and open doors. Pray fervently for the lady you want to marry.

She will go a long way in determining your journey with God.

If you are called. Prepare yourself adequately to be chosen!

Oh oh. Why are you this angry. Pastoring is a calling and a job, just like vulganizers, tailors and doctors. It cannot be oversaturated.

I am also not useless, by every bit of imaginations

If you do what you just said, then who sent you to do what?. God's work isn't business for humans

Not all lecturers chase students,
Not all boys with dreads are into Yahoo.
And d lost goes on.
Not all pastors are scamming.

I know it's a tough call this days, but one of the reasons fore setting this up is to clarify as much as I can.

She may have had some encounters that has shaped her comments but by and large, my Job on here is to clarify and see we are the ones giving room for the rise of fake pastors even when the bible already said it will be on the rise as the world comes to an end.

I am happy you're one of those that know the Lord and love him.

This is a real advice... If you must know that if you cannot fix your house as a pastor then you cannot lead a congregation, this will take me to my first update.
What a pastor should be or have according to the bible. You will see here that most of the pastors that are making people angry do not have these biblical standard.
Re: Thread For Pastors And Those Called Into Ministry by PastorBK(m): 8:55am On Apr 16, 2020
Part 1:
As a pastor, ensure you have all the criteria the bible indicated for you to have. The word of God (bible) is the yardstick and instructional manual binding all Christians. No matter what you see or hear in trances and visions, it must align with the bible, if not you're under attack of either sef illusion or a demon.

A pastor must be devoted to his wife; one-woman man (Titus 1:6; 1 Tim 3:2). The pastor’s marriage illustrates Christ’s love for His church—His bride (Eph. 5:22 .). A Pastor must love his wife exclusively with his mind, will and emotions and not just his body.

A pastor’s children must be in submission, though not perfect (Titus 1:6; 1 Tim 3:4-5). If a man does not know how to manage his own family, he will not know how to take care of God’s church. The first flock for a pastor is his own family as Pastor Dad. A Pastor’s qualification for the church starts in his home management as he leads them up in the discipline and admonition of the Lord (Eph. 6:4).

Note: This simply mean if you're single without a family you're not yet qualified to be a pastor.

A pastor is a faithful steward (Titus 1:7). Here the term used is overseer (Greek episkopos). It is not another office, but a functional title of the elder. It is what he does. He is a steward, a manager of God’s resources and Jesus’ flock. He takes responsibility, but not ownership.

A pastor must be humble — not arrogant (Titus 1:7). A pastor must constantly demonstrate the gospel by admitting when he is wrong and assuming responsibility and restoring relationships.

A pastor must be gentle — not quick-tempered (Titus 1:7; 1 Tim 3:3). No man will be of any use in the kingdom that is quick-tempered. The difference between how Jesus demonstrated anger is that He was angry at the abuse of others in the name of religion and the dishonoring of God. We get angry at how it affects us.
Re: Thread For Pastors And Those Called Into Ministry by PastorBK(m): 9:05am On Apr 16, 2020
Part 2
A pastor must be sober — not a drunkard (Titus 1:7; 1 Tim 3:3). This is not just overindulgence in alcohol but is idiomatic for any behavior that fuels addictive responses.

A pastor must be peaceful — not violent (Titus 1:7; 1 Tim 3:3). A pastor is prone to inflict violence through his words. He is to be a peacemaker.

A pastor must have financial integrity — not greedy for gain (Titus 1:7; 1 Tim 3:3; 1 Peter 5:3). A pastor is to be upright in his financial dealings and not accused of pursuing money over the kingdom of God.

This is a point that has destroyed alot of men of God. The love of money and copy cat syndrome is a major tool the devil uses against men of God.

A pastor must be hospitable (Titus 1:8; 1 Tim 3:2). A pastor’s home is to be open for others to enjoy. A pastor’s home is not a heaven on earth, but rather a place of ministry.

A pastor must be a lover of good (Titus 1:cool. A pastor genuinely loves what is good. He does not just think he should love it.

A pastor must be self-controlled (Titus 1:8; 1 Tim 3:2). Self-control is a characterization of every area of a pastor’s life: diet, time, mouth, exercise, relationships, sex, and money.

A pastor must be upright (Titus 1:cool. He has integrity in his relationships and in how he treats others.

A pastor must be holy (Titus 1:cool. His life is devoted wholeheartedly to Jesus externally and internally.

A pastor must be able to teach (Titus 1:9; 1 Tim 3:2). All of the other qualifications are character qualities. This is the only ability-based requirement. He is to be able to teach sound doctrine, not just be able to communicate in an excellent manner. His teaching can be to one or two, to twenty, to a hundred or to a thousand. Most of the churches in Crete were house churches. The elders were to defend the faith once delivered to the saints against the numerous false teachers that arose.

A pastor must be spiritually mature (1 Tim 3:6). Positions of authority without spiritual maturity lead to the trap of pride. When pride grows in a man, sin abounds.

A pastor must be respectable (1 Tim 3:7). That does not mean that everyone must like him or even appreciate him. It means that there is no credible witness to an ongoing sinful behavior.

A pastor must be an example to the flock (1 Peter 5:3). Elders are examples of biblical expressions sexually, time management, marriage, parenting, worship, relationships and any other way. A pastor should be someone your sons could pattern their life after and the kind of man your daughter should marry

Now as a non Pastor you should know what to expect from a pastor so you can run away from fake ones that the bible talked about.

And as a pastor you should know what is expected of you so you will not fall short.

Thank you and may your ministry grow and impact positively this generation.

Yours in faith
Pastor Blessing Kolawole
HelpVille Christian Centre Abuja.

What exactly is the function of a pastor? Are people not better off without a pastor?

The main job of anyone in God's kingdom is to preach the gospel which means telling others to embrace Jesus and let go of sin.

Secondly pastors lead the church which is the gathering of the people of God to worship God and edify themselves about how to be their best version.

Thank you for pointing this out.

I only summarized what it means, if the bible says a pastor must be in control of his household, that means if you don't have an household you should not be a pastor leading people. There are student pastors and youth pastors etc

For example, when a couple comes to you for counseling, how do you do that as a single pastor when you only assume what goes on in marriage.

I beg to disagree. God Almighty doesn't have a specific kingdom. Everywhere should be part of God's kingdom, even the earth, Jupiter and other uncountable planets of the multiverse. Everything in Existence is a part of God Almighty and no matter who you are, you are a part of God Almighty. However, little little creatures of God like Jehovah, Allah, Moloch, Mazda, El, Olorun, Enlil etc may have made places of abode for those who worshipped them on earth after they died, that is just kingdom of a god. Therefore, pastors are only looking for ways to lure people into the kingdom of their gods, just as imams lure people into the kingdom of Allah. So don't confuse kingdom of a god with kingdom of God Almighty.

Read the BOOK OF DANYAL to see how Jehovah once imagined fire for his worshippers as one of his kingdoms.

Danyal 2:2-3
2. Then I said, who made this great fire here? Then did the light say to me, (Yahweh) a son of God did this through the power of meditation. But he does not know that he has done this.
3. Then I said, how is that done? How can one make fire and shall not know that he has made a fire? Then did the light say to me, you homos are able to make things by the thoughts of your head, but you might not know that those things which you think are built somewhere for you.

22. Now while they wailed, the evil creature said, I am your god Yahweh, the deceiver himself. I have made the fire for you because you become my followers on earth and then you are bound by my laws.
23. For my laws cannot be broken. For if you break any of my laws, you shall be punished here forever.
24. Now while our wailings continued, a great light came and lightened up the darkness of the smoke of fire. And we heard a voice, saying, I have come to free your souls. For you are seeing the illusions of what you believe in. For you are not in any real fire, but you suffer the imagination of the god whom you worship. For like one on earth who take the weed of tekum and see hallucinations of fire, so are you all.
25. For the afterlife is like a dream of never
returning. Now imagine the afterlifes of your choice and you shall find yourself there.
26. And it was so, for every afterlife we all
imagined became the places we went. But the imaginations were not our own, for our thoughts were only connected to the thoughts of some good gods who have themselves by their imaginations made good afterlives thousands of years before.

From my point of view, all these quotes are not from the bible so it's null and void,
I am sorry, this thread is for pastors and Christians. It will be a frutile effort if we start proving points based on what we believe in.

I am so sorry if I am not dragging this for so long. But whatever we believe let us be true to it till the end. The end will justify the means.

If you are a pastor interested in delving into the supernatural work of ministry.

1. You must be a mobile prayer house. Prayer won't have time table here but prayer becomes a survival instinct.

2. You must be a fasting machine. Fast until you don't know when you ended the last one and when you began the current one.

3 Be bold: fear is a sin and should be your mantra. You will deal with demon face to face and fear is believing the devil. Be bold

4. Be ruggedized: a supernatural pastor mustn't flow with the gentility of a normal person.

5. be radical. The holy Spirit is a wind and wind doesn't have specific direction but is making impact everywhere. The secret to the supernatural is to be able to flow in the direction of the Holy Spirit.

Peace

Lastly. Read the word of God until you become the living word. It's the that gives you victory and overhauls your life.

Beware of the world and the enemies of God. Be a moving thunderstorm in the case of obstacles.

Be harmless as dove and cunning as a serpent. It's double identity.

You cannot afford to be normal. The supernatural is never normal to the natural.
